Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Mysterious Glowing Ball

January 6, 2010.

Cleveland, Ohio.

Quicken Loans Arena.

The fans in the stadium cheered for the home team following the drum beats of the home DJ.

Chen Yi was awakened by the noise. When he came to his senses, he saw himself sitting on the familiar yet unfamiliar court wearing a white No. 7 jersey.

What's going on? Am I not playing 2k?

Chen Yi shook his head. He remembered that he was playing games and cursing the 2k planner just a second ago. Then it seemed like his earphones were leaking electricity. His whole body twitched and he lost consciousness.

"Damn, I bought the Cave Master peripherals."

Chen Yi cursed, and then was shocked by the scene in front of him.

Wearing the No. 23 Cavaliers jersey and a headband on his head, James rushed to the basket with the ball like a bulldozer. Surrounded by three people, he passed the ball over his back to a big guy next to him.

The big guy took a step forward with the ball, jumped with both feet, and dunked the ball into the basket against the opposing defensive player.

The fans in the stadium instantly became excited.

Chen Yi widened his eyes. The big guy in front of him was none other than Shaquille O'Neal.

The combination of James and O'Neal? Isn't this the NBA fourteen years ago?

What surprised Chen Yi even more was that when O'Neal was hanging on the basket, a small gray ball the size of a ping-pong ball fell to the ground.

This dunk completely ignited the enthusiasm of the entire audience. The head coach in a suit next to Chen Yi clapped his hands and called a timeout to the referee.

At the same time, a large number of memories rushed into Chen Yi's mind frantically.

Chen Yi took a deep breath. It was now January 2010, and he was the point guard of the Washington Wizards.

Of course, like the protagonists of most novels, I am a substitute among substitutes.

With a height of 1.91 meters, a wingspan of 2.03 meters and a weight of 88 kg, Chen Yi left the domestic professional league at the age of 18 due to his good static talent and went to the other side of the ocean to study basketball skills.

After practicing for two and a half years, he was selected by the Wizards' general manager and signed a non-guaranteed contract with the team for $410,000 a year.

However, the Wizards still had the general Arenas who was at the end of his prime at that time. Coach Saunders did not plan to use new players. In ordinary games, Chen Yi could not even make the roster and was not qualified to wave the towel on the bench.

But just yesterday.

Because of the gun scandal that shocked the entire country in the Wizards' locker room on Christmas Eve, the league suspended the protagonists, Crittenton and Arenas, for 38 and 50 games respectively, which is equivalent to ending their season.

Chen Yi was urgently summoned to Cleveland to attend tonight's away game.

Wizards head coach Saunders was scolding the Wizards players because their performance was so bad tonight.

It was already the fourth quarter, and the score between the Wizards and the Cavaliers was 69-86, a full seventeen points difference.

Tonight, Emperor James played as steadily as ever, with comprehensive statistics of 23 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists after three quarters, while the Big Shark, who was traveling east again, also delivered efficient statistics of 19 points and 6 rebounds.

At the beginning of the last quarter, the two completed a wonderful cooperation.

On the other hand, the Wizards, without Arenas as their offensive core, currently only Nick Young scored in double digits, and that was when he suddenly exploded in the third quarter and scored 12 points in a single quarter.

After Sanders finished training the players, he set his sights on Chen Yi, his eyes narrowed slightly.

Chen Yi saw that the head coach looked at him with a strange look in his eyes and shrank his neck unconsciously.

You don't want me to come up, do you?

I just came here and haven't adapted to this body yet.

Sanders pointed at Chen Yi with the tactical board and said, "Chen, you will replace Randy (Foye) later!"

Chen Yi swallowed his saliva, he really let himself go!

Looking at the Cavaliers' lineup, James is playing at the point guard position tonight.

Are you kidding me? You let me face James right away?

And he is the headband James of the 1.0 period, a player who relies on his physical talent to play.

After Sanders finished talking to Chen Yi, he took the tactical board and planned the tactics for later. It was obvious that Chen Yi had to accept the fact of playing.

The head coach was just informing him, not discussing with him.

"Fusion template? System?" Chen Yi shouted in his heart.

But there was no response.

Damn, there is no system?

Before he could think about it, the timeout passed quickly and the players on both sides returned to the court.

The Cavaliers did not replace any players. The ones who came on the court were Shaquille O'Neal, Anderson Varejao, JJ Hickson, Danny Green and LeBron James.

The Wizards' lineup changed to JaVale McGee, Antawn Jamison, Fabricio Oberto, Nick Young and Chen Yi.

"Hey, who did the Wizards play? Looks like the Eastern kid they signed as a mascot at the beginning of the season." Kenny Smith said on TNT TV as he watched the personnel changes on the court.

His partner Barkley followed up, saying, "Sure enough, the Wizards, without their core, are starting to tank. No one in the East can play basketball except Yao Ming."

In the studio far away on the other side of the ocean, Coach Zhang, who was commentating on the game, said, "Chen Yi is actually on the court!"

"After Arenas was suspended, the Wizards had no one to use. This is actually an opportunity for Chen Yi!" Yang Yi, who was commentating on the game, also said.

Chen Yi was confused and walked slowly to the front court to prepare to receive the ball.

I really want to fight James right away.

"Huh?"

His eyes were drawn to the small ball under the basket, which was left behind after O'Neal's dunk just now.

The little ball seemed to go unnoticed by anyone else.

He slowly moved to the bottom of the basket, and when his toes just touched the ball, the ball immediately turned into a thin stream of light and penetrated into his body.

In surprise, a strange voice sounded in my mind.

"Ding! Picked up a finishing ability—[Dunk +0.1]!"

Chen Yi was slightly stunned.

Immediately afterwards, a virtual light screen appeared in front of him.
