Cornelia's POV
The way they all looked at me made it seem like I had just suggested something completely outrageous. But honestly, this mansion was enormous.
If Vince was supposed to drive me to campus, wouldn't it make more sense for me to be nearby so we wouldn't risk being late?
"We're going to pretend those words never left your mouth," Colter muttered, pushing open a door beside the staircase. Another room. See? This place had more rooms than I could count.
"Well, I'm not pretending anything," David declared, striding toward me with purpose. He stopped directly in front of me, his mouth opening and closing as if struggling to find words. The fury radiating from him was palpable. He shut his mouth, drew in a sharp breath, but it did nothing to ease his tension. "So you're telling me you want to live with a man who's attracted to women, and you happen to be a woman who's attracted to men. Under the same roof."
