Chapter 8: Fifth-Tier Mutants!

[Six Eyes Lv.2 (1/300): Possesses 360-degree long-distance vision, can see the flow of energy, astonishing dynamic visual acuity, and allows the wielder to perform fine-tuned energy manipulation.]

After the Six Eyes leveled up, the 360-degree long-distance vision was enhanced twofold, increasing from the original 200 meters to the current 500 meters.

Of course, this was the range of clear observation, allowing him to clearly capture tiny targets, observe the specific flow of energy, and possess extremely strong dynamic capture capabilities.

If it was just a blurry view, his vision could see even farther, but just like an ordinary person, he could only see, not see clearly.

In addition to this, leveling up to Lv.2 also awakened another ability: X-ray vision!

His Six Eyes could now penetrate about 10 centimeters of steel plate to observe the situation inside. And unlike the Byakugan, his vision wasn't black and white; he could see things in color and with extreme clarity.

"Doesn't this mean I can..."

To so easily obtain one of the superpowers he wanted most in his previous life, Su Mu suddenly felt it was almost boring.

"Hmm?"

Suddenly, within his expanded field of vision, Su Mu saw several drones flying rapidly in this direction.

Even farther away, a fully armed military unit could be seen advancing at high speed, following closely behind the drones.

This was definitely not revenge from Kingpin, nor was it the work of the gang. How could they have such sophisticated equipment?

This was the power of the military, likely a secret unit specializing in capturing mutants!

In a brief moment, the drones were already close. Su Mu revealed a ferocious smile at one of the drone's cameras, and then an azure black hole devoured all the drones.

Afterward, he used cursed energy to strengthen his body and quickly left the area.

Su Mu knew from the original owner's memories that this unit had mutants who had joined the military, and their strength was not to be underestimated.

Even with the Limitless Cursed Technique, it wasn't foolproof against all sorts of strange and bizarre abilities.

He was currently in his fastest growth period; there was no need to go head-to-head with the military.

What he needed now was to continuously absorb energy and increase his template fusion. Once he awakened the Reverse Cursed Technique, he would have absolutely nothing to worry about!

(Note: Reverse Cursed Technique possesses powerful healing effects.)

...

In a hidden military base, a large number of screens were displayed on the wall.

Suddenly, several screens went black almost simultaneously. This meant that in a very short period, at least several drones had been destroyed at the same time!

Noticing this, a middle-aged man with the rank of Colonel, a stern face, and a ruthless gaze asked a soldier:

"What happened?"

The soldier immediately stood up and reported to the middle-aged man:

"Colonel Stryker, we encountered a sudden change while attempting to capture designation 9527. The target seems to have undergone a secondary awakening and has awakened other mutant abilities!"

A glint flashed in Stryker's eyes. He walked up to the screen and said to the soldier:

"Bring up the image from before the drones were destroyed."

The soldier immediately projected the footage recorded by the drones before their destruction onto the largest screen.

The drone was flying forward, and it wasn't long before a tall, thin man with white hair appeared on the screen.

When the drone stopped in mid-air, angled toward the white-haired man, the man grinned at the camera. Then, a basketball-sized azure black hole formed in his hand and flew rapidly toward the camera. The screen immediately went black, indicating the drone had been destroyed.

Checking the recordings from the other drones, the situation was the same. That unknown azure black hole moved extremely fast, destroying all the drones in the blink of an eye!

Colonel Stryker's expression was grim. He had some impression of designation 9527 because his ability was the same as an extremely powerful mutant from decades ago.

And that mutant was a terrifying existence capable of absorbing nuclear energy!

However, designation 9527's energy was too weak; it couldn't even fully absorb the kinetic energy of an ordinary person's punch, so he hadn't paid much attention to him.

He didn't expect him to reappear now, having awakened other abilities.

He replayed the footage several times, finally pausing on the azure black hole.

This black hole attack ability was clearly very strong, capable of easily tearing through metal and destroying drones.

Furthermore, 9527 had also demonstrated another ability: an extremely wide-ranging sensory perception.

He was waiting for the drones to arrive, clearly having sensed their movements long in advance.

And designation 9527's transformation to white hair and azure pupils also piqued his curiosity.

The footage played again, stopping on that ferocious smile.

Colonel Stryker revealed a cold smile and then issued an order,

"Capture 9527 at all costs. He has high research value! Deploy test subjects 1085 and 1086 to assist in the capture. 1086's spatial attack should be able to break 9527's defense!"

After giving the order, he muttered to himself again,

"A provocation? Then, as you wish!"

...

1407 Graymalkin Lane, Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, in a hidden laboratory.

Jean Grey handed a report to Professor X.

"Professor, we've detected unusual movement from Stryker's unit. They seem to be mobilizing a large portion of their forces to capture a mutant designated 9527!"

"9527?"

For the same reason as Stryker, Professor X also had a deep impression of the mutant Stryker had designated 9527.

It reminded him of the most powerful enemy he had ever encountered: Black King—Sebastian Shaw.

Thinking back, if not for good luck, he and Erik might never have been able to kill him!

But designation 9527, whose real name was Su Mu, a young man of Chinese descent, had an extremely low upper limit to his ability. Even among Level 1 mutants, he was extremely weak, his ability almost useless.

This was why he hadn't paid attention to him, nor had he immediately invited him to join Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.

He hadn't expected to see his name among Stryker's targets now.

Professor X understood Stryker. If Su Mu had no value, he definitely wouldn't expend so much effort to capture him.

To be concentrating his forces for a capture now meant that some mysterious change must have happened to Su Mu.

He immediately used Cerebro to search for Su Mu's location, wanting to invite him to join Xavier's School before Stryker did.

But...

"Why can't I find Su Mu's consciousness? I could clearly sense it before..."

Even Jean Grey, with her infinite potential, he could still sense her consciousness.

Could it be...

Professor X suddenly realized something. Could the mysterious change in Su Mu be related to this?

And it could actually block his mental intrusion, even preventing him from sensing...

Could Su Mu have the potential of a Level 5 mutant?

Or—had he already become a Level 5 mutant!

Thinking of this, Professor X immediately said to Jean Grey:

"Find Su Mu's whereabouts with all our resources. We must contact him before Stryker and Erik do, and recruit him into Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters.

Su Mu—is very likely a Level 5 mutant!"
