The morning air over Hogwarts was crisp, the stands packed tighter than ever before.Yellow and red banners flapped wildly, students shouting themselves hoarse before the match had even begun.
"Hufflepuff versus Gryffindor!" Lee Jordan's voice boomed from the commentator's box, echoing across the stadium."The Badgers have brand-new Sky1 brooms, courtesy of our resident genius, Roy Valvas!"
At the mention of Roy's name, the crowd erupted. Some students chanted "Skyjade! Skyjade!" while others waved posters of the gleaming new broom.Up in the stands, Roy leaned casually against the railing beside Hermione, Daphne, and the rest of his usual circle, a faint smile tugging his lips.
"Think they'll crush Gryffindor?" Daphne asked with a teasing grin."If Cedric doesn't faint from excitement, yes," Roy said dryly.
Hermione elbowed him.
"You've just made every Quidditch captain in Hogwarts terrified.""Innovation tends to do that," Roy replied with a wink.
Down on the pitch, Wood paced like a general preparing for war, his face grim.
"Remember the plan! Keep formation! Sky1s or not, Gryffindor fights to the end!"
Harry swallowed nervously.
"You mean until we're splattered across the pitch?""That too!" Wood barked.
Across from them, Cedric sat astride his new broom, golden sunlight gleaming on the Sky1's polished surface. The Hufflepuff team looked radiant — proud, confident, almost glowing with new energy.
"We're not just the underdogs anymore," Cedric murmured, glancing at Roy in the stands. "We're the storm."
The Whistle Blows
Madam Hooch dropped the Quaffle.
In an instant, the Hufflepuffs vanished upward — their acceleration so sharp the Gryffindors were left wobbling in their wake. The Sky1s left trails of gold and silver light, streaking through the air with breathtaking grace.
"And they're OFF!— Merlin's beard, look at that speed!" Lee Jordan shouted."Hufflepuff's chasers — Jensen, Fleet, and Harper — are practically blurring! Nimbus 2001s can't even keep up!"
In the stands, students gasped and pointed. Even McGonagall's lips parted in astonishment.
"Impressive craftsmanship," she murmured."And dangerously fast," Snape muttered beside her, arms crossed."Perhaps you're just envious, Severus," Dumbledore said mildly, his eyes glinting with amusement.
The game unfolded like a storm. Hufflepuff's Sky1s cut through the wind effortlessly, their movements fluid and sharp.Every time a Gryffindor tried to intercept, a Hufflepuff darted past — a golden blur.
"Score for Hufflepuff! And another! Ten points— twenty— thirty!" Lee's voice cracked. "Gryffindor's struggling to catch up!"
Harry pushed his Nimbus 2000 to its limits, darting through the clouds in search of the Snitch. But Cedric was already there — his Sky1 gliding beside him effortlessly, like a predator pacing its prey.
"Harry, watch your left!" Fred yelled, swerving to block a Bludger.
Harry turned just in time to dodge — only to see Cedric shoot past, wind whipping his cloak. The Sky1 gleamed with embedded runes, humming with perfect balance.
"How's it feel?" Cedric shouted with a grin."Unfair!" Harry shouted back, half-laughing, half-panicking."That's progress for you!"
The Final Chase
Both Seekers spotted the Snitch at the same time — a glint of gold near the Gryffindor stands. The crowd roared.
Harry leaned forward, urging his Nimbus with everything it had. The broom shuddered, wind screaming in his ears. But Cedric… didn't strain at all. The Sky1 sliced through the air, smooth and controlled, pulling ahead inch by inch.
Roy, watching from above, murmured,
"Perfect aerodynamics. Balanced core. Just as designed."
Hermione rolled her eyes but smiled,
"Show-off."
The Snitch darted, weaving. Cedric's hand stretched forward — his fingers brushed it — and with one clean swoop, he caught it.
The stadium exploded.
"CEDRIC DIGGORY CATCHES THE SNITCH! HUFFLEPUFF WINS — THREE HUNDRED TO NINETY!"
Yellow confetti charmed by the Hufflepuff supporters rained down across the pitch. Cedric raised the Snitch high, his grin radiant.
"We did it!""We won!""The Sky1s are unstoppable!"
The Great Hall that evening was pure chaos — laughter, cheers, and floating Skyjade banners everywhere. Hufflepuff had become the school's darling overnight.
"To Roy Valvas!" someone shouted, raising a goblet."To Roy!" the Hufflepuffs echoed, banging the table.
Roy, slightly red-faced but smiling, just lifted his cup in return.
"Alright, alright. Save your voices for next match."
Harry and the Weasley twins walked over later, still grinning despite the loss.
"Next time, we're stealing your engineer," Fred said."Or sabotaging your blueprints," George added."Or maybe bribing you with Honeydukes stock," Harry laughed.
Roy chuckled.
"You can try, but innovation doesn't stop for competition."
At the staff table, Dumbledore leaned toward McGonagall.
"It seems Mr. Valvas has once again rewritten the rules.""And given us a new generation of dreamers," she said softly. "Perhaps even a few inventors."
That night, as Roy walked back toward the Hufflepuff dorm, he saw the faint glow of the moon above the lake. The reflection of the Sky1 brooms glimmered in his mind — and he couldn't help but think how far he'd come from that first day on the train.
"Skyjade Dynamics," he murmured. "Let's see where you'll fly next."
