Chapter 119 - Vol 2, 117, Chapter 63 : Obligations

A/N: So my Patreon subs got pretty mad over this Chapter due to Loki "Acting like a slave". I'd like to clarify that this is meant to be sort of a gag 😑.

Just like how Veldora could casually one shot Luminous, but still takes her abuse. I want this to be the relationship between Luminous and Loki.

I might tone down the "slavery" aspect going forward, but just know that this is how things are going to be between them.

ENJOY THE CHAPTER:)

---

The living hall of El Dorado was noticeably quieter again.

Or at least

As quiet as it could be after a Milim Nava shaped hole had been punched through the ceiling.

Leon stood near the window, staring up at the newly created skylight with a deeply irritated expression.

"…She destroyed my roof."

Again.

Beside him, Velzard looked far less bothered.

In fact

She seemed entertained.

Loki, meanwhile, had slumped back into a chair.

His shoulders sagged as he wiped sweat from his forehead.

"…I almost died."

Leon glanced at him.

"You were not in danger."

Loki pointed toward the sky.

"That was Milim."

Leon folded his arms.

"Yes."

"That does not change my statement."

Loki stared at him.

"…You're insane."

Velzard giggled softly.

"She seemed very excited to see you."

Loki groaned.

"That's exactly the problem."

Velzard tilted her head.

"I thought you two were friends."

"Are we?"

"That's why it's dangerous."

Leon rubbed his temple.

"You provoked a Demon Lord into returning here in thirty days."

Loki leaned back.

"That's future Loki's problem."

Leon stared at him.

"…You are present Loki."

Loki shrugged.

"Don't mind the technicalities."

Velzard laughed quietly again.

Then

The air shifted.

A familiar presence entered the castle.

Leon noticed it instantly.

"…Another one."

The doors to the hall opened without being broken this time.

Someone walked in casually.

Red hair swaying slightly as he moved.

A relaxed smile already on his face.

Guy Crimson.

He stepped into the hall and glanced up toward the massive hole in the ceiling.

"…Ah."

Guy tilted his head.

"Did I miss Milim?"

Leon answered dryly.

"Yes."

"She left."

Guy clicked his tongue.

"Tch."

"I was hoping to watch."

Velzard spoke calmly.

"You would have enjoyed it."

Guy nodded.

"Probably."

Then

His crimson eyes moved across the room.

And stopped.

On Loki.

Guy blinked once.

Then smiled slowly.

"Well."

"Well."

"Well."

"Look who finally woke up."

Loki raised a hand lazily.

"Yo."

Guy walked over casually.

Stopping right in front of him.

He stared down at Loki for a moment.

Then he said

"You look terrible."

Loki stared back.

"Look who's talking."

Velzard covered her mouth.

Leon turned away slightly.

Guy grinned wider.

"Oh?"

"Talking big for someone who spent nine days drooling on a pillow."

Loki leaned forward.

"I don't have time for you Guy."

Guy placed a hand on his chest dramatically.

"Ouch."

"That was cold."

Loki stretched his arms.

"So."

"You here to congratulate me?"

Guy laughed.

"Hahaha."

"For what?"

Loki shrugged.

"I fought two True Dragons."

Guy waved dismissively.

"You got beat up by two True Dragons."

Velzard frowned slightly.

"That is inaccurate."

Guy waved her off.

"Don't mind the details."

Loki smirked.

"Jealous much."

Guy studied him for a moment.

Then nodded slightly.

"…You're back."

Loki tilted his head.

"Were you expecting someone else?"

Guy shrugged.

"Could've been the light psycho again."

Loki scratched his cheek.

"Yeah…"

"…about that."

Guy crossed his arms.

"You caused quite the mess."

Loki grimaced slightly.

"…I heard."

Guy nodded.

"Lubelius."

"The Western Nations."

"The Jura Forest."

He whistled.

"You really went all out."

Loki groaned.

"…Don't remind me."

Guy leaned slightly closer.

"And Luminous."

Loki froze.

Then slowly looked up.

"…Luminous?"

Guy nodded.

"Yeah."

Loki's face twisted into an uncomfortable grimace.

"Oh no."

Guy laughed.

"Hahaha."

"Oh yes."

Leon glanced over.

"You destroyed her capital."

Guy nodded.

"And touched a few things she considers… personal."

Velzard added quietly.

"She is very angry."

Loki covered his face.

"…Fantastic."

Guy leaned against the table.

"You should've seen her."

"She was furious."

Loki peeked through his fingers.

"Hypothetically…"

Guy smirked.

"Yes?"

"…Could you talk to her for me?"

Guy burst out laughing.

"Hahahahaha!"

"No."

Loki frowned.

"Come on."

Guy shook his head.

"Even I'm not stupid enough to step into that."

Loki groaned again.

"This is bad."

Guy nodded.

"Very."

Loki leaned back in the chair.

"…Maybe if we pretend I'm still asleep."

Leon looked unimpressed.

"That would not work."

Velzard shook her head gently.

"No."

Guy tapped his chin.

"Actually…"

Loki looked at him hopefully.

"…Yeah?"

Guy smiled.

"Oh right."

He snapped his fingers.

"Luminous told me something."

Loki blinked.

"What?"

Guy spoke casually.

"She told me to inform her the moment you wake up."

Loki froze.

"…You're joking."

Guy smiled.

"I'm not."

Loki stood up instantly.

"Guy."

His voice suddenly became serious.

"You're not going to do that."

Guy tilted his head.

"Oh?"

Loki pointed at him.

"Listen carefully."

Guy waited.

"…Let's not."

Guy's grin widened slowly.

"Unfortunately…"

His crimson eyes gleamed slightly.

"…I'm afraid I have an obligation."

Loki stared at him.

"Obligation?"

Guy spread his arms slightly.

"A Demon Lord must keep their word."

Loki's face twisted with disgust.

"…You would go that far."

Guy's smile turned downright sinister.

"Oh absolutely."

Loki groaned loudly.

"…I hate you."

Guy laughed.

"Hahaha!"

"Relax."

He turned toward the door.

"I'm sure Luminous will be very reasonable."

Leon muttered quietly.

"…She will not."

Velzard nodded.

"Not at all."

Loki slumped back into his chair.

"…I'm doomed."

---

The throne chamber of Lubelius was silent.

At the center of the room stood Loki.

Head lowered.

Hands in his pockets.

Sweat slowly sliding down the back of his neck.

In front of him—

Seated upon an elegant throne of white stone—

Was Luminous Valentine.

Her eyes were fixed directly on him.

Cold.

Sharp.

Unblinking.

Behind Loki stood Guy Crimson, leaning casually against a pillar like a man watching a stage play.

Which, in fairness

This very much was.

Loki slowly glanced over his shoulder.

"…You're enjoying this."

Guy smiled pleasantly.

"Oh immensely."

Loki sighed.

Then he turned back toward Luminous.

She had not moved.

Had not blinked.

Had not spoken.

Finally—

She spoke.

"…So."

Her voice was calm.

"You are awake."

Loki scratched the back of his head.

"…Yeah, kinda."

Silence.

Luminous leaned forward slightly.

"…Radiant nuisance."

Loki winced.

"That's a creative nickname."

Luminous ignored him.

"You destroyed my capital."

Loki nodded slowly.

"…Technically."

Her eye twitched.

"Technically?"

Loki quickly raised his hands.

"I apologized already!"

"You have said nothing."

"Emotionally I apologized."

Luminous stood.

The temperature in the room seemed to drop instantly.

"You rampaged through my nation."

"Yeah."

"You attacked my city."

"Uh-huh."

"You shattered my barriers."

"…They were impressive barriers though."

CRACK.

A bolt of lightning exploded from Luminous's hand.

BZZZT.

Loki convulsed.

"AAAAAAAH!"

Electricity danced across his body as he dropped to one knee.

Smoke rose from his coat.

Loki coughed.

"…Okay."

"…I deserved that one."

Guy snorted from the back of the room.

Luminous stepped closer.

"You are remarkably casual about this."

Loki slowly stood up again.

"Look."

He spread his hands slightly.

"I said I'm sorry."

Luminous stared at him.

"…Sorry."

Loki nodded.

"Yes."

Lightning gathered again in her palm.

Loki immediately pointed at Guy.

"THIS WAS HIS IDEA."

Guy blinked.

"…Excuse me?"

Luminous did not even look at Guy.

The lightning fired.

BZZZZZT.

"AAAAAAAH!"

Loki dropped again.

Guy laughed.

"Hahaha!"

Loki groaned on the floor.

"…I regret everything."

Luminous crossed her arms.

"You are fortunate I have not killed you yet."

Loki looked up from the ground.

"…That makes two of us."

Luminous's eye twitched again.

Another spark of lightning flickered across her fingertips.

Loki raised both hands.

"WAIT."

She paused.

"What."

Loki slowly stood again.

His hair was slightly singed now.

"Let's be reasonable."

Luminous stared.

Loki continued.

"You're mad."

"Yes."

"I destroyed your capital."

"Yes."

"I apologized."

"You whimpered."

Loki sighed.

"Close enough."

He rubbed the back of his neck.

"So."

"What do I need to do to make it up to you?"

The room fell quiet.

Guy leaned forward slightly.

Interested.

Luminous studied Loki carefully.

Then—

A slow smile appeared.

It was not a friendly smile.

"You wish to make amends."

Loki nodded cautiously.

"Yes."

"Very well."

Her smile sharpened.

"You will fight the Ten Great Saints."

Loki blinked.

"…That's it?"

"Yes."

Loki scratched his cheek.

"…Okay that's easy."

Luminous continued.

"And you will lose."

Loki froze.

"…I'm sorry what?"

"You will lose."

Loki stared at her.

"That's unreasonable."

Lightning sparked instantly.

BZZZZZT.

"AAAAAAAH!"

Loki hit the floor again.

Smoke curled from his coat.

Guy covered his mouth, laughing.

Loki groaned.

"…You're abusing your authority."

Luminous spoke calmly.

"You will fight them."

"You will lose."

"And the matter will be settled."

Loki slowly pushed himself back up.

"But I actually wanted to fight them seriously."

CRACK.

Lightning again.

BZZZZZT.

"AAAAAAH!"

Loki twitched violently.

When the electricity stopped—

He lay face down on the floor.

"…Okay."

"…We're losing."

Luminous nodded.

"Good."

Loki slowly stood again.

He brushed dust from his clothes.

"…Fine."

"I'll lose."

Luminous's eyes narrowed slightly.

"And one more thing."

Loki braced himself.

"If you lay a hand on Hinata Sakaguchi…"

Her voice became very quiet.

"…I will kill you."

The room fell silent.

Loki blinked.

"…Wait."

Luminous's gaze sharpened.

"What."

Loki gestured with both hands.

"How am I supposed to convince her I'm fighting seriously…"

"…if I can't even touch her?"

Lightning fired instantly.

BZZZZZT.

"AAAAAAAH!"

Loki collapsed again.

Guy was now openly laughing.

Luminous spoke calmly.

"You will figure it out."

Loki twitched on the floor.

"…Of course."

He slowly pushed himself up.

Hair slightly smoking.

"…No touching Hinata."

"Yes."

"…Lose the fight."

"Yes."

Luminous raised a finger.

Lightning sparked again.

"Understood!"

Loki raised both hands immediately.

The lightning faded.

Luminous returned to her throne.

Satisfied.
