Chapter 325: The Terror of Type Advantage

Kaido fully embraced the ideology of "might makes right," and under his iron-fisted leadership, the Viridian Forest was no longer a peaceful sanctuary—it had been forged into a mobile theater of war. The "Beasts Pokémon Legion" was no longer a motley crew of wild animals; they were a disciplined machine of destruction. Under Kaido's suffocating pressure, the once-erratic Primeapes learned the art of the phalanx, and the massive Tauros became a heavy cavalry that moved with the precision of a landslide.

In just a few days, the legion's numbers swelled from one hundred to over three hundred. Every creature that had been "recruited" bore the phantom sting of Kaido's obsidian tail. In their eyes, fear had been replaced by a fanatical, cult-like devotion to the absolute power their new master represented.

However, the Viridian Forest had grown too small for Kaido's ambitions. The trembling local Pokémon could no longer stoke the fires of his spirit. His scarlet dragon-eyes turned toward the horizon, where the cold, metallic glow of industrial civilization flickered: Vermilion City.

According to Lilly's tattered map, his next conquest sat in the heart of that city: The Electric Gym.

—————

The citizens of Vermilion City awoke to a morning that felt like the end of the world.

At first, it was a rhythmic vibration in the earth—the synchronized percussion of hundreds of iron hooves striking pavement. Then, a massive wall of dust, ten meters high, surged from the city limits, swallowing the morning sun. When the steel tide finally breached the streets, the modern metropolis was reduced to a chaotic bottleneck of wreckage.

At the front of the surge, the pitch-black demon dragon let out a low, guttural vibration that caused the very air to thicken. Behind him, Primeapes scaled skyscrapers like demons, and the Tauros herd smashed through police barricades like they were made of matchsticks. This wasn't a challenge for a badge; it was a campaign of subjugation.

"Run! It's a Pokémon riot!" "God, did that Gyarados crawl out of hell?"

The screams of the populace were nothing but white noise to Kaido. His gaze, as cold and sharp as a guillotine blade, cut through the skyscrapers to lock onto a steel fortress sparking with high-voltage energy—the Vermilion Gym.

"ROAARR—!!!"

The roar echoed through the concrete canyons like a thunderclap. Kaido's massive draconic frame didn't slow down; he smashed through the reinforced gym doors in a rain of concrete and twisted metal.

As the dust settled, a massive man in American military fatigues stood amidst the rubble. His blonde crew cut caught the flickering light of the gym's generators, and he chewed a piece of gum with the casual arrogance of a veteran.

"Hey, Baby!" Lt. Surge spat his gum onto the floor. He looked at the catastrophic legion before him—an army that would have paralyzed any other trainer with fear—and let out a booming laugh. "You made all this noise just to find a place to die?"

He pointed a thick finger at Kaido's obsidian forehead. "A tiny Gyarados dares to play king in my city? Against my lightning, a Water and Flying-type half-breed like you is nothing but a plate of oversized sashimi!"

Garbage? This ant called the 'King of the Beasts' garbage?

"ROAARR—!!!!"

Kaido's fury detonated. The power within his new frame surged with murderous intent as he lunged forward, a blur of black scales and lethal fangs.

"Bring it on!" Surge barked, tossing a Pokéball into the air. "Let me show you the meaning of true power! Go, Raichu!"

In a burst of blinding electricity, a powerful Raichu appeared, its lightning-bolt tail crackling with pent-up energy. Kaido looked down at the "electric rat" that didn't even reach his knee, and the contempt in his gaze was palpable. He didn't even care to use a skill; he simply unhinged his massive jaws to swallow the creature and its arrogance whole.

[Bite]!

"Too naive, Baby!" Surge's smile turned predatory. "Fry him with [Thunderbolt]!"

"Rai~chu—!!!"

The atmosphere ionized instantly. Raichu's body erupted in a blinding golden radiance. A spear of pure lightning, thicker than a man's leg, slammed into Kaido's chest with the weight of a falling star.

Time seemed to freeze.

Kaido's scales—armor that had ignored the heat of magma and the blades of emperors—were as fragile as parchment before the current. An agonizing, bone-deep paralysis surged through his nervous system, severing the connection between his will and his muscles.

This... this is impossible...

"ROAAR... AAAAGH—!!!"

The Yonko's scream of agony tore through the gym. His body buckled and spasmed under the high-voltage arc. His obsidian scales began to char and crack, and a sickening scent of scorched flesh filled the arena.

[BOOM!!!]

After twenty seconds of unrelenting torture, Kaido's mountain-like frame finally gave way. He crashed into the cracked floor, sending a cloud of soot into the air. He lay there, smoking, his eyes rolled back, teetering on the edge of the abyss.

Silence fell. The "Strongest Creature" had been brought low by a single strike from a rodent.

Surge whistled triumphantly. "See that, Baby? That's [Type Advantage]. In the face of absolute rules, your brute force is meaningless!"

But as Raichu prepared for the finishing blow, the charred husk of the dragon twitched. Kaido slowly forced his head up. His scarlet eyes were clouded with pain, yet they held a new, terrifying clarity.

Type... Advantage... Rules...

Kaido chewed on the concepts. He realized now that this world couldn't be conquered by Haki or physical strength alone. It was governed by an ironclad system of laws. Brute force couldn't break the rules, but what if he learned to master them?

A new realization began to take root in the dragon's scorched mind.
