When Chris and the others found Louise, she was sitting in front of a villa, looking dejected.
Louise's sadness wasn't because she had killed everyone in the town; the town was full of scumbags who traded human organs, so there was no way Louise would be sad about killing them all.
Her sorrow stemmed from her family's vacation being ruined, partly because of her.
She had been looking forward to a perfect weekend, but things had ended up like this, causing Louise to feel a wave of sadness.
However, Chris and Dumpling could tell that Louise's current demeanor was entirely an act.
She was afraid her family would blame her, so she was pretending to wait here for them to find her, hoping to implicitly gloss over her crazy actions.
But Chris and Dumpling tacitly agreed not to expose her.
Because the current situation was entirely due to a communication error between the two of them.
So, the two people and one dog left Peter to comfort Louise until he was refreshed, then the family returned to Yuanha Town that very night.
The impression of this place was too terrible; Louise didn't want to stay for another moment.
It was only half an hour after the car drove off that Chris belatedly realized someone was missing.
Where's Megan?
"What the f*ck? What exactly happened here?"
Megan rushed back, finally running from the other side of the lake to the barbecue lawn some time after Chris and the others had left, and then she saw a shocking scene.
As she returned to the house Peter had booked, she found it already deserted; the car that had been parked there had been driven by Peter to find Louise.
A bewildered Megan sat dejectedly on the steps at the entrance, trying to glean usable information from the horrific battlefield.
But before Megan could think of using the landline to contact Peter and the others, red and blue lights, accompanied by sirens, approached.
Thanks to Dumpling's special status among America's high-ranking officials, not long after he sent a message to the CIA, they dispatched a small team to the nearest police station.
In less than an hour, they had surrounded the town.
Then they discovered Megan, and several fully armed SWAT officers, with live ammunition, were astonished by the gruesome state of the nearby lawn, while also nervously locking onto Megan.
"Hey... kid! Hands up!"
A SWAT officer thought for a moment, still unable to determine the person's gender, so he used a neutral term.
The moment Megan saw so many police officers surrounding her, she immediately stood up and raised her hands, signaling that she was not carrying any dangerous items.
Seeing Megan's cooperation, a team leader nodded, signaling his team to control Megan.
Just as the officer pulled out handcuffs to shackle Megan's hands, a square-faced strong man, who closely resembled Old Joe but had intact legs, recognized Megan.
"Wait, I know this girl."
Hearing the familiar voice, Megan looked up and exclaimed, "Uncle Stan! What are you doing here?"
Megan recognized this man as the uncle from the next block over from her house; she had even stayed at his house for a period, which Megan often fondly remembered.
After all, her life in the Griffin Family wasn't great.
Hearing Megan's question, Stan gestured for his subordinates to check the surroundings for clues, then tactfully said, "Someone reported a massacre here, so I brought people over to take a look."
After briefly explaining his purpose, Stan then questioned Megan; he knew the griffin family was out on vacation, but he couldn't understand why Megan hadn't left with them.
On the way there, Stan had learned through satellite that the griffin family had left, which is when he officially entered the town.
But what he didn't expect was that Megan, as the eldest daughter of the griffin family, was left behind here, which made Stan a little curious.
"What about you? Why are you here?"
"Ah, this..." Megan's mouth twitched slightly, unable to give a clear reason.
She also wanted to know where everyone else had gone and why they had left her behind.
Fortunately, Stan, who was well-versed in all sorts of information about the griffin family, saw Megan's expression and immediately made a guess.
Considering Megan had been like a daughter to him for a few days, Stan, to prevent Megan from feeling embarrassed, decided, "How about this, I'm also going to Yuanha Town later, you can come with me."
Hearing Stan's words, Megan didn't object; after all, she was penniless now and truly had no other options.
At this moment, Stan noticed the bloodstain on Megan's chest and immediately asked with concern, "What happened to your chest? Are you injured?"
When Stan asked, Megan remembered how she had been stabbed in the chest earlier.
Fortunately, Megan understood her own body and knew that such a minor injury was nothing at all.
To prevent Stan from noticing her abnormality, Megan waved her hand and said, "It's fine now, it was a scratch when a guy ambushed me, it's nothing serious."
"That's good, remember to speak up if anything happens."
Seeing Megan's reserved demeanor, Stan nodded and comforted her a few times, then his subordinates brought out a large amount of medical equipment from Dean's house.
"Report, sir, the intelligence is accurate. Illegal brain-swapping experiments were indeed being conducted here, and after identity verification, some retired special individuals were also involved."
Stan took the documents, casually flipped through a few pages, nodded, and said, "Send it back to the bureau and see how the boss plans to handle it."
"Yes!"
After confirming that Dumpling wasn't joking and had indeed found evidence as he said, Stan prepared to return; he had nothing left to do there and might as well go back to sleep early.
"Let's go, Megan. My helicopter is in the town square, do you have anything else to get?"
Megan was somewhat shocked that this town was secretly engaged in such dark and cruel business, then she heard Stan's call and immediately followed him, saying, "No, my things should have already been taken."
As Megan boarded Stan's helicopter, she was dropped off at the Griffin Family home about an hour later, while Chris and the others were still on their way.
More than an hour earlier, when Chris suddenly remembered that they had left Megan behind, Dumpling learned through the CIA director that Stan had contacted Megan.
Then, knowing that Stan would send Megan home, Chris and the others stopped worrying, as Stan was mostly quite reliable.
So, when Peter drove back home, he saw that Megan was already home and had thoughtfully prepared a late-night snack.
Regarding Megan's thoughtful gesture, Peter and Louise unusually explained that they didn't go back to pick her up because they knew Stan would bring her home.
Megan's initial dejected mood immediately improved significantly after Peter's explanation, then she recounted her experience of fighting back and killing Jeremy, before returning to her room to rest.
What happened today was still too impactful for an ordinary teenage girl.
