Chapter 47 - Negative Zone

Sigurd brought Hela and Hippolyta to Lucifer's world, but when he entered Lux, he was surprised to see only Lucifer sitting alone.

"You look as if your whole world has turned upside down."

Lucifer, who was still drinking, turned his head toward the voice.

"Sigurd, my friend. You finally came to visit me without any work."

Sigurd looked at Lucifer, then saw Hela looking at the bar with curious eyes.

"Hela, say hello to my friend, Lucifer Morningstar."

Hela looked toward Lucifer. She could feel that this person might be very important; otherwise, her uncle would not have her greet him.

"Hello, Uncle. My name is Hela Odinsdottir."

Lucifer heard the words and looked toward Hela.

"Hello, child. So you must be the child of Odin. Good—you have the power of death, but your divinity has a concerning effect. It might affect your state of mind."

Hearing Lucifer's words, Hippolyta was surprised, then looked toward Sigurd.

"Yes, she does have that problem."

Lucifer looked at her, then thought of the goddess of death.

"If you want, I can have someone fix the problem."

Sigurd shook his head, then looked toward Hela.

"I do not want to interfere with her divine power right now. She will learn to control the power herself, which will also help her realize the importance of strength. Right now, she does not need to come into contact with powerful beings."

Hela was listening to her uncle and aunt talking, but she did not pay much attention, instead looking outside the window where mortals were busy with their lives.

Sigurd then turned toward Lucifer.

"What happened to you?"

Lucifer shook his head.

"Chloe ran away when she learned my true identity."

Sigurd looked at him, confused.

"Weren't you two bonding slowly? What happened in between?"

Lucifer shook his head, then explained how she had been in danger and he had to use his power.

"After she learned about my identity, she ran away. I think she is avoiding me."

Sigurd shook his head.

"It is normal for humans to be scared of you. In their context, they are mortal, but we are literal gods—something they have learned from their history. Even so, your stories are such fantasies that even many old gods fear you."

Just as they were talking, they looked toward the door and saw Chloe approaching.

Lucifer suddenly appeared in front of Chloe.

"Detective, I tried to reach you for a month, but I could not get in touch with you."

Sigurd could see Chloe was still scared of Lucifer, but she was pretending to be strong.

At the same time, Chloe, who was talking with Lucifer, noticed Sigurd, Hippolyta, and a child. Seeing a child with them, she was surprised.

Chloe walked toward them, and Lucifer followed. She came to them and asked,

"Sigurd, you also know his identity?"

Sigurd just nodded, then said,

"Of course. What did you think?"

Chloe looked at Sigurd's smiling face, then asked in a small voice,

"Then who are you, Sigurd? You should not be a simple person if you can walk with the Devil and even call him a friend."

Hela, who saw a new person, ran toward her uncle.

"Uncle, this world is very normal. I do not feel any warriors here."

Sigurd, who was about to answer Chloe's question, looked toward his niece and reached out to touch her head.

"Hela, not every world has gods like us. This realm is just a mortal world. It was created by Lucifer's father to flourish and to help gods like us understand different emotions. But remember one thing, Hela: some mortals are also powerful, so we should never underestimate them."

Then he turned his head toward Chloe.

"Miss Chloe, let me introduce myself again. My name is Sigurd Borson, and I am an Asgardian god of Justice. This is my wife, Hippolyta."

Just as Sigurd was about to introduce Hela, she spoke up.

"Hello, Aunty. My name is Hela Odinsdottir."

Chloe looked at Sigurd and then toward Hela. For the last month, she had gone to different churches and religious places to learn more about gods and the Devil, but she did not expect that Lucifer's friends were also gods.

"But aren't you supposed to be enemies? If God knows you are friends with the Devil, wouldn't He condemn you?"

Sigurd and Lucifer could not help but laugh. Then Sigurd looked at her and explained,

"Do you know who helped me meet Lucifer? It was God Himself. You are still too young to understand, Miss Chloe. Earth is just a small place in the whole universe, so stop judging us with knowledge from the myths created by man."

Chloe stood there as if frozen. Seeing her situation, Hippolyta knew it would be difficult for her to understand the complex dynamics of gods.

"Okay, Sigurd, you are scaring her. I will take her aside and explain."

Hippolyta took Chloe outside the bar. Lucifer looked at Sigurd.

"Why do you think my father placed her in my life?"

Sigurd shook his head, then thought of the possibilities.

"It might be the old guy preparing for something, or he just wants to have entertainment from your life."

Lucifer listened to the options.

"But I do not think she can wrap her head around me after learning I am the Devil."

Sigurd still did not know how to explain the situation.

"Who knows? It might end up being beneficial for you."

In the Marvel world, at the same time.

Laufey was standing in front of a woman.

"Hyve, we might have to send our children to Midgard to attract Odin."

Hyve looked at Laufey for a few seconds, then thought about her children.

"It is okay to send them to Midgard, but Odin might slaughter them there, so we have to go ourselves."

Laufey nodded.

"We will personally go there. If we succeed, we might even capture Midgard, turning it into our own personal realm for our children."

Hyve shook her head.

"Yes, if we succeed, it might be a great opportunity for me to run away from the barren Negative Zone."
