Why is it him?
Klein followed Silas into Blackthorn Security Company, looking at the back of his neighbor and colleague with a complex expression.
Last night's divination above the gray fog could be said to be very successful, but he couldn't feel happy about it.
Because in the dream, Klein had clearly seen the scene when Mrs. Sharon was killed.
He saw his colleague being hunted by Mrs. Sharon, burned by black flames on the ice, howling as his skin gradually turned charred black.
He saw his neighbor use a peculiar language that caused Mrs. Sharon's spirit to nearly collapse and lose control, leading to her head being blown apart by a revolver.
He also saw that after Sharon's death, Silas still didn't let her go.
Instead, he opened up her chest and abdomen in an almost evil manner, removed her internal organs, dealt with the scene, dumped the body, and left...
So in places I didn't know about, he's already become this powerful...
Klein looked deeply at Silas's back, thinking with emotion.
The scene of Silas killing Sharon had given him tremendous shock.
Among the current members of our Tarot Club, there probably isn't anyone who can confront him yet. Well, if we all went together, with Miss [Justice] providing support, me and [The Hanged Man], and [The Sun] attacking together...
In Klein's mind, a scene of the Tarot Club battling Silas couldn't help but emerge.
No, no, why am I even considering this?
What I should be thinking about now is why did Silas act alone? If he had just told everyone, we could have gone together to eliminate the Witch.
That would have been much safer than him going alone. And after the Witch's death, he committed those almost evil acts. I really can't understand what he's doing at all.
Klein couldn't help but tap his teeth lightly, activating his spirit vision.
Under spirit vision, he saw that the glow around Silas's entire body displayed stable, harmonious colors, indicating that his body and spirit were overall very healthy.
Only the brain area showed slightly fiery red, as if there was some anxiety. If this anxiety could be attributed to Azik being wanted, that seemed reasonable enough.
There was no aura of evil corruption on Silas...
"Good morning."
Completely unaware that he was being secretly observed, Silas walked into the hall and greeted everyone.
He saw that Rozanne wasn't sitting at the reception desk, but rather someone he hadn't seen before.
After a moment of surprise, he suddenly realized this might be the clerical staff transferred from the police station.
Rozanne had mentioned happily before that finally someone could cover her shifts, giving her more rest time.
The lady at reception smiled politely and somewhat formally when she saw them, briefly introducing herself.
Sure enough, she came from Tingen City Police Station.
She had previously encountered a Beyonder incident and, because of her faith in the goddess, had been transferred to Blackthorn Security Company after passing review.
After chatting briefly, Silas and Klein passed the partition and entered the captain's office.
Dunn was sitting in the back of the office, looking at a telegram with deep-set eyes.
"Captain."
The two said together.
"Two new clerical staff have joined our team. You should have seen them."
"Yes, I think Rozanne will be very happy."
Silas nodded.
To be honest, although Rozanne was very lively and friendly, her professional abilities did need improvement. Her father had originally been a team member who died in the line of duty.
Not only did the team provide compensation, but they also arranged for Rozanne to join the team, giving her a quite simple yet well-paying job. It must be said that the Evernight Goddess Church did quite well in this regard.
"Well, let's not talk about that."
Dunn picked up the telegram and said to Klein, "Klein, you know Azik, right?"
"Yes, Mr. Azik was my history instructor at university. However, he wasn't my advisor. When I was in school, I occasionally had academic exchanges with him."
Klein said, concealing some information.
"You both have newspapers, so you should know what this is about.
The Tingen City Police Station is investigating Azik and discovered his relationship with you. Klein, write up a document about matters related to Azik and submit it."
Dunn said. Clearly, he thought the connection between Azik and Klein was only this much. The police station was probably just making routine inquiries.
Silas pretended to know nothing, watching curiously from the side.
After chatting with Dunn for a few more sentences, just as they were about to leave, Dunn remembered something else and called Silas back: "Regarding the Witch case, there's still no follow-up.
Silas, make a few extra rounds on the streets recently, try your luck, see if there's any possibility of discovering members of the Aurora Order."
"Yes."
Silas agreed casually.
Definitely won't find anything, because the perpetrator is right in front of you, Captain.
Klein thought to himself.
After leaving the office door, Klein's mind was still thinking about Silas.
Silas didn't reveal my relationship with Mr. Azik in front of the captain. If I turn around and report him, wouldn't that make me too much of a jerk?
But it's not just acting alone. He has many secrets. Like that powerful vitality that allowed him to recover after being burned like that, and that mysterious, maddening voice...
Thinking of this, he suddenly paused, then smiled bitterly.
But speaking of secrets, as Mr. Fool above the gray fog presiding over the Tarot Club, I don't really have the right to criticize him... And it's not just him.
Leonard also has something special about him. I can't very well report them all, can I?
Perhaps I shouldn't be so obsessive.
After thinking it through, Klein came to a conclusion. Although there were special aspects about Silas, there weren't any particularly serious problems for now.
How about this: after next week ends, after watching "The Return of the Count" with Benson and Melissa, I'll investigate carefully, or just have a good talk with him.
Maybe he's just selling the Witch's internal organs as materials for money, same as Old Neil...
After thinking through all this, his heart finally calmed down. He turned toward the office and began writing a report related to Azik on the typewriter.
Silas had no idea that today he had almost been reported by Klein. He stayed at Blackthorn Security Company until the end of work, then took a carriage home.
Cecilia should still be at school right now. What should I cook for dinner tonight...?
He thought at the door.
"Welcome back. You're off work quite early today."
Just then, Silas heard Ma'am M's gentle voice from behind him. Looking back, she was standing behind him, as if she had just returned from outside.
Why did she go out?
Silas was stunned for a moment, then alarmed.
If someone else saw her, that would be dangerous!
"Get inside quickly!"
He opened the door and called out to Ma'am M in a low voice.
"What did you go out to do?"
After Ma'am M entered, he growled quietly.
"Just strolling around the neighborhood, experiencing the beauty of Tingen City."
Ma'am M said something completely unbelievable. "Hehe, just kidding. I saw your digestion progress was slow, so I brought back something good for you."
As she spoke, she pulled out a book with an undecorated cover from her clothing.
"This is the sacred texts... about the Lord."
The book's cover was made of unknown leather. To the touch, it felt like human skin.
