Chapter 284 - [285] : You've Been Making Quite a Ruckus Lately

"Bang!"

The deafening gunshot echoed through the room.

The bullet easily drilled into Gabriel's jaw, penetrating his skull, not stopping until it had turned his soft brain into mush.

This Seer, who had just been reminiscing about the bright sunshine of his homeland, ended his life in such a brutal and swift manner.

The body fell to the ground, leaving Singh, the Zimang Gang's boss, standing there with shock written all over his face.

His mind was confused, completely unable to understand what had happened.

It had been just an ordinary divination, the same as the countless divinations performed before.

But this time, Gabriel had suddenly gone mad without warning and even committed suicide with a handgun.

How am I supposed to explain this to the ambassador?

Singh instinctively gasped for air, the smell of blood and gunpowder in the room rushing into his nostrils.

Stimulated by these strong odors, he suddenly snapped back to reality.

Anyway, first deal with the body and the scene.

"Someone!"

He raised his voice and shouted, trying to call his subordinates in to help him work.

But soon he hesitated again.

Is it appropriate to let my subordinates know?

The next second, Singh suddenly felt something was wrong.

Where is everyone?

Even without him shouting, someone should have come in by now! With such a loud gunshot, had all his subordinates gone deaf and couldn't hear?

Unless they had already...

"Creak..."

The door outside slowly opened.

Looking through the door toward the deeper part of the corridor, crimson liquid seemed to be slowly flowing on the floor there.

In his fear, Singh saw his subordinates who had been standing outside pushing open the door with blank expressions, their eyes vaguely glowing with golden light.

The other several people wore the same dazed expressions.

The subordinates were clustered around a handsome man wearing a crimson robe.

Danger!

Singh's heart jumped violently. Almost instinctively, he wanted to turn and flee, crash through the window, and run into the street.

To hell with the ambassador and the subordinates, staying alive is what matters most!

However, some intense fear from the depths of his heart made his feet feel nailed to the ground, unable to move.

He could only watch as the man walked in as if no one else was there, swept his gaze around, then settled it on Gabriel's corpse.

"What happened?"

The red-robed man, who was Silas, asked directly.

"He committed suicide..."

Singh's heart tightened as he answered honestly.

"Suicide?"

Silas tilted his head a bit strangely.

Just moments ago, following intelligence provided by Charles's people, he had infiltrated the Zimang Gang's headquarters.

Although he didn't know which room the leader was in, the Shepherd's instinct let him sense there was a soul containing Beyonder characteristics here.

But he had just approached and hadn't even entered yet when he heard gunshots from inside.

"Why would he commit suicide?"

"I don't know either. Mr. Gabriel was just doing a divination, and then he..."

Singh didn't dare hide anything.

He felt a terrifying aura from Silas, a kind of pressure that even that ambassador had never given him, and the latter was supposedly a powerful Beyonder.

This guy is a Seer?

Silas casually picked up the white paper on the table. After seeing the divination text written in Hermes on it, he couldn't help but laugh.

Did he divine me and get hit by the shock?

Serves him right. Even I don't know how much madness I carry on me: the Fool, the True Creator, that illusory tidal wave... A Seer rashly investigating would naturally be unable to bear it.

After his spirit collapsed, ending himself was reasonable.

He looked at the corpse with its bloody, mangled face.

Points of light containing spirituality kept析出 from it, eventually gathering into a small orb floating in mid-air.

A Sequence 9 Seer characteristic, probably worth about 400 pounds.

Silas reached out and picked up the small orb.

"You're the new boss of the Zimang Gang?"

He asked Singh, who was standing obediently to the side.

The other also emanated the aura of a Beyonder, but not very strong, probably also Sequence 9 level.

"Yes."

The other immediately answered. He seemed to sense Silas's danger and acted especially cooperative, afraid Silas would casually end his life.

"My name is Singh, my lord."

"You've been making quite a ruckus with the Remann Gang lately."

Silas said, looking at him.

The Remann Gang?

He came on behalf of Charles?!

A thunderous roar exploded in Singh's mind. He seemed to understand why Gabriel had suddenly gone mad.

He was full of regret. If he'd known the Remann Gang had backing, he definitely wouldn't have rashly initiated conflict.

"Just a minor friction..."

His thoughts spinning rapidly, this man from the southern continent highlands immediately said in a tactful tone, "Purely a misunderstanding. Everything can be discussed."

"Mm."

Silas nodded faintly and asked again, "The Intis ambassador is behind you?"

"...Yes."

"Give back the territory you've occupied. I'll pretend what happened before never occurred. Also, don't tell them about me."

For the sake of role-playing, he needed a relatively stable environment.

For now, he didn't plan to be too ostentatious and attract others' attention.

"I understand."

Singh nodded repeatedly.

I can't completely trust you though.

Silas glanced at him and scraped a finger across his arm, easily twisting off a piece of flesh the size of a fingertip.

Regardless of how ugly the new leader's expression became, he directly stuffed this piece of flesh into his mouth.

"Swish!"

He manipulated the flesh, penetrating Singh's stomach wall, wriggling inside his body until it stuck to his heart.

With a slight effort, Singh's face showed pain from the torture to his heart.

"If you expose what shouldn't be said, I'll crush your heart."

His psychological suggestion wasn't strong enough yet and had mediocre effects on Beyonders, so he simply used Blood Magic to threaten the other.

It seems like Ma'am M threatened Cecilia and me this way back then.

Silas was dazed for a moment.

"I won't say anything."

With his life held in Silas's grasp, Singh had no choice but to comply and say this with a forced smile.

Wait, Cecilia and I weren't gang members, and we didn't usually do anything bad.

Silas glanced at him, pocketed the Seer's Beyonder characteristic, and walked out of the room, leaving Singh and the dead Gabriel to continue agonizing over how to deal with the corpse and how to face the ambassador.

***

After leaving the scene, Silas returned to his lodgings.

The Zimang Gang problem had been easily resolved.

The flock could therefore obtain a place to settle, which was a great help to his role-playing. So next, he should consider continuing to spread the faith.

First, he needed a scripture.

The other seven gods all properly had such things. If he didn't have one, it would be easy to show weakness.

So annoying.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out paper and pen.

Those wanderers who received relief wouldn't know that the seemingly devout missionary was only now starting to forge a scripture.

Anyway, first make up some creation stories and such.

Silas struggled for a long time before finally writing the first line of text on the white paper with difficulty.
