Chapter 14 - The First Step Toward True Power!

For those born into families with traces of psychic blood—or those confident they possessed hidden potential—training the mind was second nature.

Even if they didn't know whether their gifts were dominant or recessive, they still sought ways to awaken them—before the age of ten if possible, or even afterward through sheer persistence and discipline.

Over the years, psychics across the world, along with the official Psychic Association, had condensed the knowledge of countless experiments into three primary awakening methods:

Physical Training — Strengthen the body and expand its energy pathways.

Meditation Practice — Refine focus and amplify the power of the mind.

Emotional Shock Therapy — Induce powerful emotional states—joy, grief, anger, terror, awe—to force the spirit into awakening.

Ash studied the screen in silence, his fingers tapping against the desk as a grin tugged at his lips.

"So… the third method involves extreme emotional stimulation, huh?"

He leaned back in his chair with a smirk. "Yeah, no thanks. I'm trying to unlock Aura and the Power of Viridian, not awaken the Sharingan."

That left the first two options—physical training and meditation—both safe, both practical.

He circled the first two with the cursor and nodded thoughtfully. "Now the real question is—how do I train efficiently and meditate correctly without hurting myself?"

He began typing again:

"Safe psychic awakening training for children / beginner meditation techniques."

In the Pokémon world, science had advanced far beyond what Earth had ever achieved.

Except for aerospace technology—hampered by certain legendary Pokémon occupying the upper atmosphere—everything else, from genetics to energy systems, was cutting-edge.

And the internet here? A global miracle.

Ash dove into dozens of academic databases, training forums, and discussion boards. He compiled the most reliable findings into a new document, labeled:

"Psychic Training and Meditation Methods (Age 6 Adaptation)"

Hours later, after filtering out the superstitions and pseudoscience, he finally leaned back, satisfied.

"Perfect," he murmured. "This should work just fine. If I hit any issues, I'll adjust the plan later."

Now he had both his goals set in motion:

Capture his first Pokémon ahead of schedule.

Awaken his dormant powers—the Aura of the Wave and the Power of Viridian.

He smiled faintly. "I'll start physical training with morning exercises tomorrow. But for now…"

His eyes glinted. "Let's test the meditation method first."

He got up, hung a small wooden sign on his door that read "Napping, Do Not Disturb", and quietly locked it behind him.

Then, barefoot, he climbed onto his bed and assumed a cross-legged position, exactly as shown in the guide's illustration.

The method he'd chosen was called the "All Things Listen" Meditation Technique—the most detailed, structured, and well-documented practice he could find online.

"Alright," he whispered to himself, exhaling softly.

Closing his eyes, Ash took a deep breath and allowed his thoughts to fade into stillness.

Unlike an ordinary six-year-old, the soul within this child's body belonged to an adult—a mind honed by experience, patience, and discipline.

Within less than a minute, his breathing steadied. His heart rate slowed. His consciousness began to drift inward.

If a member of the Psychic Association had been present, they would've been stunned.

The official records stated that for a six-year-old, the shortest time to enter a meditative state was seven minutes—a record repeatedly verified and updated.

But Ash?

He'd achieved it in under one.

A feat so extraordinary that it bordered on inhuman.

Yet the boy himself was completely unaware of what he'd just done.

He didn't know that this single session had shattered the world record for meditation initiation. He didn't know that he'd just proven his potential as a once-in-a-century prodigy.

He only felt peace.

The world around him faded. He found himself floating in a dim, gray space—a place that reminded him eerily of the void between worlds he'd passed through during his reincarnation.

Except this time, there was light.

A faint, hazy glow—emanating from him.

His soul shone softly in the gray mist, a lone beacon in a sea of silence.

Even as his awareness drifted, he noticed something incredible—no matter what stray thoughts crossed his mind, his meditative state remained unbroken.

It was as if his body was a cage, and his spirit… finally free.

Remembering the technique's instructions, Ash steadied himself again.

"Listen to everything," the guide had said. "The world is not silent. Every blade of grass, every breeze, every heartbeat carries a voice. Hear them."

He focused.

And slowly, the first whispers came.

The faint creak of the white-painted window frame, rocking gently in the breeze.

The rustling of leaves and flowers outside, swaying as the summer wind brushed through the garden his mother had tended so lovingly.

Each sound grew clearer, sharper—like threads connecting him to the very rhythm of nature itself.

For the first time since entering this new world, Ash truly heard it breathe.

The living heartbeat of the Pokémon world.
