Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

Kian's POV

I went on a patrol and decided to stop by, the conversation I had the other day with Aria created some distance between us but still I missed her and her little boy.

I got to her porch and slammed the door of my car running towards the house.

"Fuck it!" I yelled seeing the porch light turned off and the front door slightly opened.

"Please this shouldn't be what I'm thinking"

I took two steps foward seeing kimal's wooden toy on the foot mat, the scene looked bizarre like someone had come for them and that's when it all clicked.

"I knew it! This has to be Kael's handwork!" I cursed snatching kimal's toy squeezing it aggressively.

"That monster is so desperate and can't control himself anymore, He wants to take what's mine by forcefully, he has always did since we were kids, damn it!" I stared at the dark opening of the doorway, clutching the limp toy. "He won't get away with it, I won't let him, not again."

I tired to shake off the rage and panic I felt down and without thinking I got into my car driving faster than I ever did.

Aria POV

"Where am I?" I woke up coughing, scratching my head that felt like it had been banged against the wall severally.

My throat felt dry, and my body was heavy for no reason.

For a few seconds, I couldn't move, I kept on blinking against the dim light until the shapes and shadows started to take shape of what they really were.

I was lying on a huge, heavy mattress, a lixuty one which was weird. The ceiling was too high, the wooden furniture was thick and dark, and I could hear the muffled sounds of people from behind the door.

An immediate, cold realization set below my gut.

"This place looks familiar..." I muttered, trying to get myself together.

It wasn't just familiar, it looked like I've been here before and that's when I realized that I was in Alpha Kael's toom. The same room he always locked me up and used me for his own personal pleasure. The same room he lied to me about being his favorite.

Before I could panic and think of a way to run, I heard the voice I hated most in the whole world…

"Aria, You're up?" Kael walked in, calm and relaxed, smiling like he had just worn a lottery.

I moved and noticed a chain around my wrist, I'd been chained to this bed for a while and never realized it till now.

"You! Let go of me!" I screamed, lunging forward and pulling against the chain with all my might. It held fast. I pulled again, straining my muscles, but it wouldn't break.

"What do you think you're doing, Kael? Kidnapping me forcefully, I know you're plans already, all these….all these is just to save your asss"

He walked toward me with no expression on his face, reached down and, with a simple, casual click, freed my wrist which was weird.

Why did he tie my down in the first place if he still wanted to free me.

"Don't be dramatic, my love," he said gently, tossing the chain onto the bed. "You are where you belong."

I stood up, shaking off the chains as I massaged my wrist.

I looked at him quietly with the mix of hatred and stubborn feelings I still had for him.

I pushed it all down and focused on the real issue.

"Where is my son?" I demanded, "Where is Kimal? You tell me right now! If you've touched him…."

"He is perfectly safe," Kael said, raising his hands in a calm gesture.

"The caretakers are downstairs watching him. They are competent and trustworthy. You don't need to worry about anything anymore, Aria. We are together, and he is being looked after."

"Worry??" I scoffed.

"How pathetic. I am his mother! No caretaker does it like me. Only I care for my son the way he should be cared for, not some paid stranger!"

His expression hardened slightly. "He is also my son," he reminded me, crossing his arms.

"You seem to forget that, Aria."

"Our? Oh He's also your son, i almost forgot about that ?" I stepped toward him with my hands shaking.

"Where were you when I was raising him alone, when I had nothing, when you were with her? He's your son, and you pushed us out like we were worthless!"

"Aria, please, I didn't..." he tried to apologize, reaching out to touch my shoulder.

"Don't!" I shouted, taking a sharp step back.

"If you lay your hands on me, I'll show you why you shouldn't have brought me back here"

He lowered his hand, his eyes showing what looked like genuine regret. "I'm sorry," he whispered.

"When I chose your sister, I honestly thought she was the one. I needed my Luna for the ruling, for the stability. I needed that power. I was confused, and I was weak, and I was wrong, Aria. I was completely wrong."

I stared at him, my heart breaking all over again.

The excuse was selfish, weak, and honestly heartbreaking.

"Then go to her then," I told him, turning my back, trying to rebuild the wall around my heart. "Go meet your Luna. She's waiting for you. And let me and my son go."

He stepped up behind me, close enough that I could feel his warmth, but he didn't touch me.

"I can't. You need to understand, life hasn't been the same without you. I've been losing my mind, Aria. The peace I feel right now, just having you here, close... I haven't felt it in years."

I wouldn't lie, I missed him too and his genuine act were almost enough for me to stumble.

He turned to me gently cupping my face in his hands.

He looked into my eyes.

I almost lost it but shook of the feeling.

I pushed his hands away violently and backed up.

"Stop it!" I yelled, putting distance between us.

"You don't want peace, Kael! You just want me for your own sick pleasure! I know what you want! You want to lock me up in this room again, keep me as your dirty little secret toy. That's what you always wanted to do!"

My chest felt so heavy at this point and I didn't want to see him again.

I pointed towards the door shouting. "Leave! Get out!"
