Chapter 27 - Chapter 27

They were forcibly dragged into the water and feasted on.

On the fifth floor, Kasumigaoka Utaha's eyes showed confusion and bewilderment as she pondered:

Is this what it feels like to be in love?

A feeling called "dazed" surged within her, and she wholeheartedly experienced this passionate love.

...

The water level began to drop layer by layer, eventually stopping at the second level.

As the rushing water receded, all the survivors were found alive, lying on the wet floor, gasping for breath.

"Look! There's something in the water!"

In the hallway, everyone turned to look at the source of the sound.

Several flashlights that still had power were instantly turned on, their beams shooting straight onto the water.

The next instant, a face covered with fist-sized blisters on its forehead came into view.

"Oh my god, what's going on here?"

"There seems to be something moving inside those bubbles?"

"Am I seeing things? Are those facial features? Oh my, there really is a moving face!"

The people who were standing nearby whispered among themselves, their faces filled with disgust and fear at the scene before them, and they even involuntarily took a few steps back.

This scene caused the middle-aged mother to become extremely anxious.

Her husband was shot and killed by a stranger during a robbery, and now she only has a teenage son.

Now that her son's face is covered in such strange, moving blisters, how could she not panic?

"He was like this when I woke up this morning!"

"doctor!"

"Do we have anyone here who knows medicine?"

"Please save my child!"

"I'm willing to give anything for my child, please!"

As the woman spoke, she knelt down on the spot, the dim light following her movements, revealing a hint of the charm of a middle-aged woman.

The crowd fell silent, and after a long while, a brave man finally stepped forward.

"Let me see."

"Although I'm not a formally trained doctor..."

Before he finished speaking, a murmur arose from the crowd.

"Not a licensed doctor?"

"Hey, this unlicensed doctor, show us what you're capable of!"

"Oh ho, an unlicensed doctor, do they have a medical license?"

These taunts and jokes made the "unofficial" doctor feel extremely uncomfortable, and he stood frozen in place, afraid to move.

The woman referred to as "Mrs. Hikawa" was unaffected by this; she politely invited the man who had stepped forward to offer her a further invitation.

"Please save my child."

"Okay...okay."

"I'll give it a try."

The man spoke haltingly, slowly walking towards the boy amidst the mocking gazes of those around him.

The boy's face had a large, conspicuous blister that, strangely enough, resembled a bewitching face. With each breath, the liquid inside the blister visibly rippled.

Amidst the ripples, several tiny figures appeared and disappeared on the surface of the bubbles.

A face appears to be taking shape!

The "unofficial" doctor pondered deeply, comparing his knowledge of parasites with his own, and cautiously said to Mrs. Hikawa:

"It could be a tapeworm."

"As for the specific reasons, I don't know either."

"Tapeworms? What are those?"

Mrs. Hikawa was completely bewildered. She was just an ordinary housewife with a high school diploma and didn't usually care about things like parasites.

Do you have a treatment?

She pressed for an answer anxiously.

When Mrs. Richuan asked him a question, he gently touched the terrifying face with his fingertips. The face then swayed up and down, just like a very bouncy water balloon.

It bounces back immediately when pressed.

However, the tapeworm inside the face also adheres to the edge of the skin, giving the impression of a mouth opening and closing, as if it is about to burst through the blister.

Faced with this difficult case, the "non-standard" doctor hesitated repeatedly:

"Let's try to puncture this 'ghost face bubble' and release the pus inside."

P.S.: Requesting flowers and review votes for the new book!

24 Obstetrician and Gynecologist, Ryuji Hirasaka

"This tapeworm seems to be particularly active in the water, and it is in a state of irregular entropy increase. We initially suspect that it carries a retrovirus. If it is not treated, it may harm your son."

"well!"

Mrs. Hikawa nodded repeatedly, tears streaming down her face, and asked, "May I ask which hospital you work at, doctor?"

"My name is Ryuji Hirasaka, and I am the head nurse of the obstetrics and gynecology department at St. Juliana Hospital."

"Obstetrics and Gynecology?"

Everyone was stunned.

Can gynecology and obstetrics departments perform surgery?

"If you drain the pus from the blisters, how confident are you that you can get rid of these...tapeworms?"

"About a 10% chance. If you agree to have the blister and the associated skin removed, the success rate can increase to 50%."

Dr. Ryuji Hirasaka answered.

Mrs. Hikawa fell silent.

The low success rate left her quite conflicted.

Moreover, once the blister and surrounding skin are removed, won't my son be left with a large scar on his face?

How am I supposed to go out now? How am I supposed to date?

However, upon further reflection, she realized that her husband had purchased insurance before his death, which would provide him with a substantial compensation payment should he pass away.

This amount of money should be more than enough to pay for my son's skin graft surgery.

With that in mind, she decided to save her son's life first.

"Then let's just remove this skin."

The woman knelt on the ground, her eyes resolute, and pleaded with the obstetrician once more.

"I will do my best."

"Then... everyone, be my witnesses. If I fail, you can't come after me with any trouble."

Long Er, still harboring some concerns, shouted loudly to those around him.

The people around him were indifferent and unmoved, but he felt a little more at ease.

"Why?!"

Suddenly, the last light source illuminating the boy's face went out.

Mrs. Hikawa and Dr. Ryuji, the obstetrician, exclaimed in surprise at the same time.

Without light, how could he dare to operate on human skin!

"Can anyone offer some light? We need some light to save lives!"

Long Er shouted loudly.

However, no one answered until Mrs. Rikawa made a promise, at which point someone set out the conditions:

"Please, everyone! If you have any conditions for exchange, please feel free to mention them!"

"Mrs. Hikawa, the flashlight's electricity is precious, but if you'd like to join us in singing and clapping, I can lend you my flashlight!"

The speaker was a student living alone, accompanied by two married men with wicked glints in their eyes.

In this environment, as long as they are not exposed to light, they can enjoy themselves to the fullest.

Mrs. Hikawa remained silent for a moment, fully aware of the lustful gazes of passersby.
