Chapter 71 - Chapter 71: Entertaining the Four Advisors

"So, let's first clarify our current situation. Firstly, I guess we're safe now, right?" Hellank asked, once again looking around the room.

"But we're also under house arrest. I really don't know what they want to do?" Imina chimed in, annoyed.

"At least we're safe for now. It's just, I don't know how Iri-meimei is doing." Roba was quite worried about Iri; although she had attacked Hellank, Hellank didn't blame Iri after he woke up.

"I think she should be fine, since they acknowledged Iri's identity." Arshe was also very curious, observing the various unfamiliar furnishings in the room.

Although she was once a young lady of a noble family of no small standing, the luxury of this so-called guest room and its decorations almost rivaled the imperial palace.

"Hellank, are you really okay? You still look a bit pale." Imina asked with concern, as Hellank was injured protecting Imina.

"Hmm… I should be fine. After receiving treatment from that maid, my wounds are gone. I just feel a bit weak." Hellank deliberately pulled open his blood-stained clothes to look at his shoulder, where there should have been a rather horrifying wound, and replied.

"That's because you're anemic. You should be fine after a good rest." Roba said, recalling the scene just now: Iri, glowing red, bathed in Hellank's blood, fighting the skeleton, was still vivid in his mind.

"I can't believe Iri-meimei is actually a Vampire True Ancestor. Aren't such beings only in legends?" Hellank let out a helpless laugh. Roba had just briefly explained what happened after he fainted from blood loss.

Hellank felt quite conflicted. After all, he was the one who agreed to Iri joining the party in the first place. Now that he thought about it, Iri-meimei, who suddenly approached them on the street, had hidden her identity so deeply, which was indeed quite surprising.

However, it was also thanks to Iri; otherwise, he and his team would definitely have been wiped out here. Although he didn't know what awaited them next, at least everyone was still alive for now.

"No wonder Iri's magical aptitude was so strange. Is it due to her Vampire True Ancestor physique?" Arshe muttered to herself. Iri's magic capacity was simply not suitable for being a spellcaster.

Yet she could use magic beyond human comprehension, and she only said she could use sixth-tier magic. It's possible she was just hiding her true strength to deceive them.

At this moment, a knock sounded on the door, and a voice from outside said,

"Excuse me."

Then the door opened, and in walked a maid in a black maid outfit and glasses, followed by several maids in blue maid outfits, who were pushing what appeared to be a dining cart.

"Good evening, everyone. I presume you are all hungry. Ainz-sama instructed us not to neglect Princess Elizabeth's companions, so I have prepared supper for you all." The maid with glasses said, and then the maids behind her pushed the dining cart in.

"Then we are truly indebted to Ainz-sama for his consideration." Hellank replied with a smile.

At this moment, Hellank immediately noticed a detail in what the maid with glasses said. This basically confirmed that Iri-meimei should be safe and sound. He just wished he could gather a bit more information.

"Miss Maid…" As soon as Hellank spoke, before he could even ask his question, he felt a chill and a sense of oppression, which naturally came from the maid with glasses in front of him.

"Hmm? Is there something you need?" The maid with glasses pushed up her spectacles and asked.

"No… nothing major. I just wanted to ask when we can leave?" Hellank was sweating profusely but still bravely asked.

"That depends on Ainz-sama's mood. Now, please allow me to introduce the supper dishes." The maid with glasses clearly changed the subject.

Hellank understood that the maid probably couldn't answer his question, so he could only take things one step at a time. At least now he could confirm that Iri-meimei was safe.

Only after the maid with glasses had listed a string of dish names that they had not only never seen but never even heard of, she simply said, "Please enjoy your meal," and left the room with the other maids.

"Hey! What is all this?! That maid just said it, didn't she?! She definitely said it! What 'Charcoal-Grilled Dragon Ribs'! Is this really dragon ribs?!" Imina pointed at the plate of what looked like grilled meat, her eyes wide, and looked at Arshe, the only one among them who had seen much of the world.

"I… I don't know. Almost no one has seen a living dragon… let alone dragon ribs." Arshe shook her head vigorously, indicating that she didn't know either.

"Is this the last supper?" Roba said, looking at the incredibly luxurious dishes in front of him.

"This… can we really eat this?" Imina asked, looking at the plates of food that looked delicious but were basically unknown to her.

"Oh! It's super delicious!" Hellank no longer cared about elegance or not. He grabbed a piece of what he didn't know was meat from one of the plates with his hand and put it in his mouth.

"Hey! Hellank! Aren't you afraid it's poisoned?!" Imina immediately became anxious.

"It's impossible for it to be poisoned. With Ainz-sama's strength, crushing us is easier than crushing ants. There's no need for poison. Everyone, try it!" Hellank continued to eat unconcernedly.

"You're right…" Imina also nodded. Having personally witnessed Ainz-sama's power, there was indeed no need for such tricks to kill them. She could only sit down.

To be honest… after this series of frights, they were indeed a bit hungry. Looking at the dishes in front of them, which looked good… but were all things they had never heard of, how would they taste? After taking a bite, what the heck was this?! It was delicious!

Afterward, everyone began to enjoy the delicious meal. Perhaps the taste was truly astonishing, as no one spoke much; they all ate very quietly.

"I didn't expect Iri-meimei's family's things to be quite surprising." Hellank said while eating.

"What do you mean by that, Hellank?" Roba noticed that Hellank's words had a hidden meaning.

"Didn't you all notice? What the maid with glasses said, she called Iri-meimei Princess Elizabeth." Hellank replied.

"Princess… that title, it means Princess… Could it be that Iri is the Princess here?" Arshe realized.

"That's the only explanation, right? Since Iri-meimei's true identity is the Princess here, she should be out of danger, right?" Hellank said quite optimistically.

"You still have time to worry about her! It's still unclear whether she's friend or foe!" Imina said, quite displeased, stuffing a remark at Hellank. Remembering Iri's red-glowing eyes and the scene where Iri sliced Hellank's shoulder with a hand-chop, Imina still felt a lingering fear.

"Iri-meimei won't be our enemy. Although Iri did attack Hellank, she still fought with her life to protect us. The move that almost incapacitated Iri-meimei with one blow before, when Ainz-sama used it against us, Iri-meimei also blocked it for us. If it weren't for Iri-meimei, we would have died there long ago." Roba firmly agreed with Hellank's statement.

"Iri sought us out, I think, to use us to get here, right?" Arshe said softly.

"And Iri-meimei also expressed her opposition multiple times before we came in, didn't she? It's clear she must have known how dangerous it was here, but unfortunately, we didn't listen to her." Hellank said with considerable helplessness.

"I'm sorry, it's all my fault…" At this point, Arshe started blaming herself again.

"I told you, this isn't just your fault. Now it depends on how Ainz-sama will deal with us." Roba sighed, then reached out and stroked Arshe's head, intending to comfort her.

"Yes, he also emphasized earlier that we are only temporary guests, just temporary. Who knows…" Hellank was still a bit worried.

Don't think that just because they're treating you well now, you won't be treated as "rats" and disposed of in an instant. Then it would all be over.

He had also learned from the peerless beauty that the invading "rats" had all been dealt with. Hellank had no doubt about the veracity of this information.

Their other Black Worker companions who came with them surely had no hope of survival. Now… in their current situation, he and his companions had no time to worry about others' lives or deaths. Their only goal now was to survive and escape.

"What… will happen to us?" Arshe said with some melancholy.
