Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The beginning of pain

Dark in the midnight sky, where clouds were covered by buildings, the buildings that stood as a mark of our technology, it brought hope to most, yet was a fear to some.

In the midst of it all, two shadows walked through an alleyway, abandoned in the bright lights, lost in the street vendors, having the time of their life—yet the time one shall never forget...

One shadow crept from the walls with a shimmering blade in hand, like an uninvited guest. That night she may never forget... That face she shall remember till the end of time. It wasn't just simple sorrow or hatred, it was something unknown—a mix of fear, a touch of survivor's grief.

She was paralyzed in the moment—crimson splat all over her clothes, flowing down her legs like rivers. The body by her feet laid still as a rock, "I'm sorry mom..." a faint sound traveled through her ears, her eyes watered, she tried pulling the knife out, a fatal mistake.

The daughter screamed in pain as they bled until the blood pooled around her, a prison made of grief, of sorrow Body limp, skin pale as the moon. 'That... That animal would face justice...' She muttered painfully. A naive thought. Even in a world like this, nothing is perfect. Even the law.

"The evidence is clear, she was the one who committed the homicide, those were fingerprints on the weapon! The blood on her clothes had DNA evidence, need me say more? Just because that her daughter doesn't mean she won't kill them."

Oh the misery, she was too ignorant, it hit her like a truck, in the courtroom, process was unimportant, only results talk, even if they talk in lies.

Her world shattered, sanity wavered, hatred filled her eyes. Then came a chance, for IT to seize, IT, was the incarnation of insanity, gripping her soul at its weakest point, comforting her in the fog of chaos. Her world shattered, then rebuilt, just with flaws she couldn't perceive.

Though IT was also a chance for her, as no one without a mental illness would kill their own offspring, right? IT wasn't just seizing the chance for itself, but was giving her a chance too, a chance of false freedom.

Test after test, the results were that she was chronically insane, and by law she was not to be imprisoned, but to be sent to a mental health facility, a chance of freedom.

Insanity dug deep, yet it hid deeper, it was just a few months before she was released. Back into society she was, but without a doubt, she wasn't fully back.
