Chapter 57 - Chapter 57 – The Fat Man, Fu Jieyan

Before long—

Under Fu Jieyan's guidance, Zhao Xuan stepped through a shimmering light gate and arrived at the Free Trade Market within the Dreamspace.

Rows upon rows of unmanned stalls stretched across the space—hundreds of them, at least.

But instead of actual goods, each stall displayed a signboard.

On these signs were written the descriptions, effects, and quantities of the items being sold.

If someone was interested, they could simply touch the stall with their mental energy.

If the stall owner happened to be online within the Dreamspace at that moment, they would instantly receive a system notification and rush over.

If not, the 794 Bureau medal they carried would alert them in the real world, allowing them to log in and finalize the deal right away.

After learning how the market worked, Zhao Xuan couldn't wait any longer—

he immediately applied for a stall of his own.

Then, with a grin, he placed half of the Spirit Cactus—the one that had been gnawed by that Ironhide Boar—onto the listing.

Item Type: Spirit Cactus

Quantity: Half a cactus (approx. 2 jin – 1.5 jin of pulp, 0.5 jin of peel)

Effects: Personally tested. The pulp slightly enhances the physique of lower-tier ability users (effect on mid-tier users unknown). The peel and spines can promote Armament Haki awakening and growth.

The moment Zhao Xuan's listing went live—

Fu Jieyan froze.

Then, before Zhao Xuan could even blink, the fat man snatched the sign off the stall and hooked an arm around Zhao Xuan's shoulder with exaggerated enthusiasm.

"Heh-heh, Brother Zhao~!" Fu Jieyan said, his round face glowing with excitement.

"What's wrong, Brother Fu?" Zhao Xuan asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Is what you wrote true?" Fu Jieyan's voice was trembling slightly, eyes sharp with barely contained greed. "The part about the cactus being able to promote Armament Haki awakening and growth?"

"It's true," Zhao Xuan said calmly. "I tested it myself not long ago."

Fu Jieyan's pupils dilated.

"One… ten million!" he blurted.

"What?" Zhao Xuan blinked, unsure if he'd heard correctly.

"Brother Zhao!" Fu Jieyan's voice rose with excitement. "I'll buy that half cactus for ten million yuan—not including Door-to-Door Express fees! I'll handle those myself!"

"Ten… million?"

Zhao Xuan's eyes widened.

He had expected the cactus to be valuable, yes—any elixir capable of enhancing Armament Haki, even slightly, was bound to fetch a high price.

But in his estimation, one full cactus might go for five million at most.

And yet this fat man was offering ten million for just half.

Seeing Zhao Xuan hesitate, Fu Jieyan leaned closer, trying to reassure him.

"Brother Zhao, that's actually a fair price! The market value right now for half a jin of this kind of elixir is around nine million—and that's only because the Provincial and National Exams are right around the corner. Normally, the price is about eight million."

He clasped his hands together earnestly, his round face full of pleading sincerity.

"Come on, what do you say?"

Zhao Xuan hesitated for a brief moment—then smiled.

"Alright. Ten million it is."

"Excellent!" Fu Jieyan exclaimed, beaming. "What's your bank account number? I'll transfer the money right away!"

"Shenzhou Bank," Zhao Xuan replied. "Account number: XXXXXXXX."

"Got it! Once I log off, I'll send the payment immediately!" Fu Jieyan said hurriedly, almost tripping over his own words. "Oh, and your address—I'll need that so I can have Door-to-Door Express pick up the package!"

"No problem," Zhao Xuan said, giving him the details.

After a few more casual exchanges, Fu Jieyan logged off in a hurry—clearly unable to contain his excitement.

Zhao Xuan, meanwhile, spent some time wandering around the Free Trade Market.

It wasn't that there wasn't anything interesting to buy—

there was too much.

Too many rare items. Too many high-grade elixirs.

Most of them were far beyond his current means—or his current level.

Eventually, Zhao Xuan decided to log off as well.

The moment he returned to the real world, his phone buzzed with a notification.

It was a bank deposit alert.

Ten million yuan credited.

Zhao Xuan chuckled. "That fat guy really doesn't mess around."

Settling down, he began to meditate quietly while waiting for the Door-to-Door Express courier to arrive.

Barely three minutes later—

Knock, knock!

He opened the door to see a courier in a sleek black uniform.

After confirming the details, Zhao Xuan handed over the half cactus.

Without another word, the courier made a gesture—

and a glowing portal opened in midair.

Stepping through, he vanished instantly.

Zhao Xuan stared at the fading shimmer of the portal, awe flickering across his face.

"Door-Door Fruit ability users really are something else," he muttered. "Open a door, go anywhere in an instant."

He chuckled.

"The guy who thought of using them for a delivery company—now that's a genius."
