(MC POV)
The next day, I did my usual routine. I only needed to run a 10 km jog and practice mana suppression.
With my body soaked in sweat, I went to the living room, rested for a moment, and reflected. The lesson from the last fight had been learned. Combat experience, magic itself I learned about combat-type hunters, like how they fight and how they use mana throughout their bodies. Including my own stupid, inexperienced ass, since I left Clark at home and let him doom-scroll.
Well, his Intelligence increased, and like a child who found the internet for the first time, he searched for porn.
Anyway.
My level rose dramatically!
[Player Status]
Name: Takakura Ken
Level: 81
Class: Mage
Title: The Prodigy (+20 Mind, +20 Luck)

HP: 12030/1230
Fatigue: 0
[Stats]
Strength: 88
Agility: 89
Vitality: 101
Sense: 107
Mind: 111 (+20)
Intelligence: 229 (+16)
Faith: 330
Luck: 90 (+20)
[Stat Points: 31]
This was actually good, considering how much harder it had become to level up now that I'd reached this point. That meant it would only work efficiently on B-rank monsters and above.
At first, before deciding on my class, I read all the class traits, including their advantages. There were two main types: spell casters and combat types. According to the system, mages excelled at mana control, Sense, Mind, and Intelligence scaled far better for them than for combat types.
Combat types, on the other hand, were the opposite of mages. They relied primarily on their physical stats. In short, I couldn't just go, oh, let's raise all my stats equally so I can have both physique and magic power, haha, no. If I could do that, then what was the point of choosing a class in the first place?
So, if I compared myself to Jin-woo, even if we had the same Strength stat, it wouldn't mean we had equal physical power. I should have the advantage when it came to magic. Of course, we used different systems, but now it all made sense why it was impossible for me to defeat a combat type like Thomas Andre head-on.
That's why I decided to revive that fucker and send him back to 'Merica.
Now, stat point distribution.
With all that in mind, I was already on the right track. Instead of distributing my points evenly, I needed to focus on a mage build.
And since I'd be using Elemental Sight for extended periods, I decided to put all my remaining stat points into Intelligence.
[Intelligence: 260 (+16)]
"Now…"
I rubbed my hands together, savoring the moment. Let's roll the gacha.
It was the right decision to pull because anything could happen not to mention, I needed to learn those spells beforehand.
[Achievement Points: 2500]
I had 2500 points and a single SR-tier gacha roll.
Alright, roll that SR tier for me, Sys.
[Ding!]
[You have used your SR-tier gacha roll…]
[Commencing roll!]
[Clone]
Origin: Frieren
Type: Spell
Tier: SR
Mana Cost: Adjustable
Description: By splitting the user's mana, the caster can create clones that can be controlled from anywhere.
[Five Hundred Thousand Galleons]
Origin: Harry Potter
Type: Item
Tier: N
Description: One Galleon coin is equal to 10 USD or 15,000 Korean won in your current world.
[Gandalf the Gray's Hat]
Origin: LOTR
Type: Item
Tier: J
Description: Gandalf the Gray's wizard hat.
[M-O]
Origin: WALL-E
Type: Item
Tier: J
Description: A robot that loves to clean.
"What the… two junk items?"
I wondered why a robot was even there. Wait this is gacha.
Nevertheless, 500k gold coins meant it was worth five million dollars here! And the system treated it as just a Normal fucking item?!
On top of that, finally! It's always been a daydream to have a shadow clone spell, but this was even better! How could I forget that Frieren had one?
Now… my first UR-tier roll.
[Ding!]
[You have used 2500 AP for a single UR-tier roll.]
[Commencing roll!]
[Heroic Spirit]
Origin: Type-Moon
Type: Summon
Tier: UR
Mana Cost: 5,000 (Minimum)
Description: You can summon a heroic spirit of the past to fight alongside you. Although you may bestow any amount of mana, transferring 15,000 MP is advised.
[Loop Cast]
Origin: The Irregular at Magic High School
Type: Passive
Tier: R
Mana Cost: –
Effects: +40 Mind
Description: The Loop Cast System is an activation sequence that skips the restart phase, allowing the caster to endlessly invoke magic without re-entering the same variables.
"Heroic Spirit?! Like Saber?! I'm not gay, but FOR MERLIN'S BEARD! IT'S KING ARTHUR WITH BOOBS!"
Wait.... hold up, does that mean this could be useless?
I had tons of questions about whether I could even summon her. It could be Saber… or maybe not. She's a summon with her own will, which means she might not be willing to cooperate with me once she finds out there isn't a Holy Grail War going on.
"Hah… next is… oh? Hmm, impressive. Very nice."
Loop Cast.
I was surprised it was only R-tier.
Flipping through the pages, I finally understood. When I read the grimoire, it said this only worked by programming the system into a casting device.
Meaning, right now, I was the only one who could use it passively.
Why?
Simple. I'm built differently.
Still, if I could find a way to share it, this would revolutionize the mage community.
---
I rested for a bit on the side of the park after finishing my 10 km jog. Now, I could do it without my legs giving out. Feeling thirsty, I walked toward the vending machine and grabbed some water.
"Hi, Ken."
"Miss Hae-in… it's been a while."
"It's Noona, remember?"
I walked toward her.
"Right, so where have you been?"
"Business trip. I had to clear some dungeons far from the city. Hah… I should take a holiday now, I guess. Anyway, it seems boys your age grow taller easily."
"No, I'm just built different."
"Hm? Different, you say?" Her eyes sharpened as she looked at me still cute, though. "Have we met before? Somewhere, maybe?"
This woman still thought I was hiding something… which was true.
"Maybe? Who knows. My face is kind of average, so you might've seen it before, but not me."
She glanced at me sideways, sighed, then tapped my shoulder.
"Don't devalue yourself, Ken. To me, you're quite handsome."
"Really? Look, Noona, before that, at least you should take me out to dinner."
She coughed violently while trying to hide her flushed cheeks.
"You little! Ask me that when you're older. Kuhum! Anyway, I should get going."
Watching her walk away… damn.
I couldn't help but smirk.
---
"Alright, guys, we should split up for today. You'll all clear Gates, while I go do a mining quest."
"Can I do that?"
"No, I'll do it!"
"Shut the fuck up, guys. I'm the original body! You should be practicing other spells too!"
In the living room stood three copies of my clones. I figured I could send them out to clear Gates while I handled system quests myself. What a convenient spell! I could use these motherfuckers as free labor and level up quickly!
"Oi. You son of a bitch. I know you're thinking something offensive."
I clicked my tongue. "Alright, boys. How's the cloak? Do you feel anything different?"
"No," they all answered in unison.
I see. I'd been wondering whether I could duplicate Clark as a clone. Since Clark has slime that supplies mana, the spell still works as long as Clark has mana well, my mana. With that, they still retained the slime's buff and could fly.
---
Hunters Guild mining team.
Dressed in standard dungeon miner gear, I put on my helmet and walked toward the other miners.
"Uh… are you sure you want to work here as a miner?"
I simply nodded. "Yes."
"But sir… you're A-rank. You could join the best guild if you wanted."
"Thank you. But I have my reasons."
"A-alright…"
To get achievement points, baby!
We waited outside the gate for the strike team to finish leaving the boss alive so the mining team could harvest the magic crystals and the monster corpses.
"Alright, boys! Here they come!"
Someone stepped out of the gate a man with red hair, glasses, a long cape, and a ring I assumed granted buff abilities for mages. Without a doubt, he is the Hunters Guildmaster, Choi Jong-in. Compared to the White Tiger Guildmaster, he definitely had more mana.
Shit.
Lost in thought, I wasn't paying attention to his men and nearly let Cha Hae-in catch me. Thank God I suppressed my mana completely just in time. Keke. Catch me if you can.
Time passed, and now I was hammering magic crystals like a Minecraft-crazed miner.
"You're good, lad! Still, don't worry, you can quit anytime you want."
"Don't worry, Chief. I yearn for the mines."
"HAHA! Glad to hear it! Then—oh, Miss Cha! What can I do for you?"
Oh shit.
"Actually. Excuse me…" Ignoring the man slightly, she stopped behind me. "Have we met somewhere?"
She was giving me that Doakes-level hyper creep sense.
"I'm sure this is..."
"Turn around and look at me. I know it was you, Ken. You hid your mana when we cleared the gate together with Chairman Go."
I should never let this woman catch my scent ever again.
