Chapter 16 - Sparring with the Saiyans

Zane walked into the gravity chamber, his eyes immediately scanning the room. Vegeta was there, his body bandaged in several places, but he was still training. His movements were slower than usual, his breaths labored, but he was pushing himself, gritting his teeth with every punch and kick. Zane couldn't help but smile to himself.

"Wow, still going at it? I thought you were gonna take at least a week to recover," Zane said, his voice a mix of amusement and approval. "But I guess Saiyans recover fast."

Vegeta, drenched in sweat, paused for a moment, wiping his brow. He looked over at Zane with a glare that spoke of both frustration and pride. "I'm not one to rest, especially when I've got someone like you telling me I'm not strong enough."

Zane chuckled, leaning casually against the wall. "Well, at least your power level's at 120,000 now. A massive jump. But forget power levels. In the end, they're just numbers." He stepped closer, his tone turning slightly more serious. "The important thing is you're getting stronger, Vegeta. And when it's time for you to transform, you'll feel a massive increase in power."

Vegeta snorted, clearly not impressed by Zane's words. "I'll be the judge of that," he muttered under his breath, before turning back to his training. But Zane could see the underlying tension in his posture. Vegeta wasn't one to admit weakness, even if it gnawed at him.

Just as Zane was about to make another comment, the door slid open, and in walked Goku, a wide grin on his face, his usual enthusiasm radiating from him.

"Hey, guys! I'm here to train! Finally got Chi-Chi to agree to let me train with you guys," Goku said, his voice bubbling with excitement.

Zane grinned, rolling his shoulders in preparation. "Perfect timing. Now this should make things somewhat fair." He nodded toward Vegeta, who was still eyeing Goku with suspicion. "Alright, you two. We're going to spar. Don't hold back. Act like you're trying to kill each other, but obviously, don't do anything stupid. Just beat each other bloody and grow. Simple, right?"

Both Saiyans exchanged a glance, their pride and competitive nature flaring. Goku didn't hesitate, stepping into a fighting stance. Vegeta, too, dropped into position, the tension in the air palpable.

Zane smirked. "Let's take it up a notch." He turned to the gravity controls, his hand hovering over the dial. "50 times gravity. That should make things interesting."

The chamber's hum deepened as the pressure of the gravity shifted, the air thickening with the increase in force. Vegeta's body tensed, his posture shifting slightly to adjust to the new weight. Goku, on the other hand, didn't flinch, his grin widening as the gravity hit him. "Alright, let's do this!" Goku's voice rang out, his energy sparking with excitement.

The two Saiyans rushed at each other, their movements so fast it was hard to keep track. Vegeta's fist came flying at Goku's face, but Goku managed to duck under it just in time, landing a quick jab to Vegeta's side. Vegeta grunted in pain but quickly retaliated, swinging a powerful kick that sent Goku skidding backward.

Zane stood off to the side, observing the fight with a mix of amusement and interest. His eyes flicked between the two as they exchanged blows, powerful punches that shook the chamber and resounding kicks that sent shockwaves through the air.

Goku darted forward again, his fist landing solidly in Vegeta's ribs, forcing the Prince of all Saiyans to stumble back. Vegeta's face twisted in anger, and without missing a beat, he fired off a barrage of rapid punches aimed at Goku's chest, each one landing with a thud. But Goku grinned, taking the blows, and with a burst of energy, he powered up, sending Vegeta flying backward with a well-timed spinning kick.

Vegeta grunted as he crashed into the wall, but he quickly bounced back, his eyes blazing with fury. "You think you can just hit me like that, Kakarot?" Vegeta roared, charging at Goku with renewed intensity. He was faster now, his anger fueling his movements as he aimed a devastating uppercut at Goku's jaw.

Goku's eyes widened, and he barely managed to duck, but Vegeta's fist clipped the side of his head, sending him reeling. "Damn it!" Goku growled, wiping blood from his lip. "You're not holding back at all, huh?"

Vegeta smirked, his pride refusing to allow him to back down. "Of course not. You think I'd let you beat me, Kakarot?"

Goku's grin widened. "Not a chance!"

The two Saiyans clashed again, fists and kicks flying in a flurry of action, the sound of their blows ringing in the chamber. Vegeta's movements were sharp and precise, each strike aimed at Goku's weak points, but Goku's agility and reflexes allowed him to dodge most of the attacks, landing blows of his own when Vegeta let his guard down. The fight dragged on, both warriors pushing each other to their limits.

Vegeta managed to land a punch to Goku's stomach, sending him stumbling backward, but Goku quickly recovered, shooting forward and grabbing Vegeta by the arm, flipping him onto his back. Vegeta slammed into the floor with a grunt, but he wasn't done. With a furious roar, he jumped to his feet and rushed at Goku again.

Their punches and kicks intensified, both warriors taking hits and dealing them in return, each one pushing harder and harder, the power struggle evident in every move. Sweat poured from their bodies, blood staining their clothes, but neither of them seemed willing to back down.

Zane observed the fight, a small grin playing at the corners of his lips. This was what he wanted to see, the two of them fighting, pushing themselves to the limits, getting stronger with every exchange. As much as Vegeta tried to hide his pride, Zane knew he was enjoying this. Even Goku, ever the optimist, was relishing the challenge.

Hours passed, the intensity of the fight never letting up. Both Vegeta and Goku were bloodied, bruised but still fighting with everything they had. Zane, who had been casually leaning against the wall, yawned. "Alright, I think that's enough for today," he called out, his voice cutting through the exhaustion in the room.

Both Saiyans froze, panting heavily. Zane stepped forward, turning off the gravity. The chamber returned to normal, and the two of them collapsed to the floor, gasping for breath.

"Good job, both of you," Zane said with a grin. "You're stronger than before. Rest up. You'll need it."

Goku and Vegeta both groaned in exhaustion but gave Zane a nod of acknowledgment.

"Tomorrow," Zane continued, "we'll do it again. But for now, you've earned your rest."

With that, Zane turned and left the chamber, a satisfied smirk on his face. He could already feel the power in the air, the energy from the fight still crackling in the atmosphere. The training was paying off.

As Zane walked back toward the living quarters, he couldn't help but think about the next phase of their journey. There was still much to be done, and he had no intentions of slowing down. Not yet.
