Chapter 154 - 112) God of Reincarnation — Yatagarasu

As soon as Akira spoke those words, the world responded.

All one thousand Akiras—still arranged in one hundred perfectly aligned concentric circles—moved at the same time.

They raised both hands.

Every future Akira pointed their palms toward the sky.

Toward Yatagarasu.

The present Akira alone did something different. He lifted a single hand, extending it upward, directly beneath the divine raven that hovered above him.

For a heartbeat— Nothing happened.

Then it was as if a sealed glass vessel shattered from within.

The outermost circle of future Akiras detonated.

There was no fire. No sound. Only annihilation.

Their bodies burst apart into black mist—pure, dense, absolute. The mist surged upward, pulled by an unseen law, flowing straight toward Yatagarasu and wrapping around its massive form.

The second circle exploded. Then the third. Then the fourth.

One ring after another vanished, collapsing inward like falling dominos of fate.

Each explosion fed the same phenomenon. Black mist rose. Black mist gathered. Black mist layered itself around Yatagarasu, compressing, condensing, reshaping.

Three minutes passed.

By the end of it, the desert stood silent once more.

Only one Akira remained.

The present Akira.

Above him, the sky had changed.

A colossal black sphere had formed—suspended in midair. Its length stretched over a kilometer, its surface smooth and absolute, as if forged from condensed law itself rather than matter. It radiated no chakra, yet it felt heavier than mountains.

Below it, Akira stood barely upright.

Blood streamed from both of his eyes, carving crimson paths down his face. More spilled from the corner of his mouth, staining the sand beneath his feet. His chakra reserves were completely empty—drained past exhaustion, past danger, into absence.

And yet— He was faintly smiling.

As if something long planned had finally gone exactly as intended.

Akira looked up at Yatagarasu, his vision trembling but clear.

"Yatagarasu," he said softly, voice hoarse but steady. "This is my gift."

His raised hand trembled.

A faint green light ignited above his palm.

At first, it was only a flicker. Then it grew—condensing into a sphere of emerald chakra, pure and luminous. The light stretched, elongated, and reshaped itself, fusing with the descending black mass above.

Green and black intertwined.

At the same time, Akira's eyes began to change.

The six-tomoe Rinnegan dimmed. Six tomoe became three. Three became none. The ripple pattern faded into Mangekyō Sharingan. Then three tomoe. Then two. Then one.

Finally—

Normal eyes.

As the transformation continued, Akira felt it clearly.

This was not temporary exhaustion. This was not overuse.

His chakra was being consumed permanently.

---

Outside the range of Forbidden Jutsu

Sasuke's expression changed instantly.

So did Karin's.

The two Yamanaka Ino had already fallen silent, their senses stretched to their absolute limits.

None of them understood the mechanics of what Akira was doing—but they understood the danger.

Akira was bleeding.

Not lightly. Not superficially.

Blood streamed down from both of his eyes, tracing dark lines across his face before dripping into the sand below. A thin trail escaped the corner of his mouth as well, carried away by the desert wind.

More terrifying than that, however, was what they felt.

Akira's chakra was collapsing.

Not fluctuating. Not being suppressed. But burning away—steadily, irreversibly.

Sasuke clenched his fists. "This isn't just chakra…" he muttered.

Karin's sensory perception screamed in alarm. What was fading wasn't merely power.

It was vitality.

Life force.

Something fundamental—something that should not be spent so casually.

"Akira…" Ino whispered, taking an unconscious step forward, her hand trembling.

The other Ino mirrored her movement instinctively, but none of them crossed the invisible boundary. They all knew it.

Akira had already crossed a line.

If they interfered now, they didn't know what would break. They didn't know who would break.

So they could only watch.

---

The massive black sphere in the sky continued to stabilize, its presence pressing down on the desert like a judgment that had already been passed. The green light in Akira's raised hand flickered violently, thinning, stretching—as though even light itself was being consumed as fuel.

Another second passed. Then another.

Akira's legs finally gave out.

His body tipped backward, arms still spread unnaturally wide, fingers twitching weakly—before he crashed into the sand below in a rigid, unmistakable posture.

A perfect, motionless T.

The desert fell completely silent.

---

Akira lay there, spread against the sand, arms and legs outstretched, his chest rising and falling faintly.

His vision was hazy, the sky above him fractured into overlapping fragments. Sand pressed against his back, cold despite the desert heat. His body refused to move—but his mind was still clear.

He spoke inwardly.

"System… was it successful?"

For a brief moment, there was only silence.

Then the familiar, emotionless voice answered.

[Confirmed. The operation was a complete success. The results will manifest shortly.]

Akira let out a breath he hadn't realized he was holding. A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

"Then… what's the condition of my body?"

This time, the pause was longer.

「Analysis in progress…」

「The Rinnegan has been permanently lost.

All chakra reserves have been exhausted.

The chakra network has collapsed.

To prevent further backlash, Yatagarasu's immortal body was dismantled during the process.

As a consequence, your own immortal constitution has also been removed.」

Akira listened quietly.

「Conclusion: your body is now fully mortal.

However, you retain the awakened Karma–Karma no Mi.」

Akira chuckled softly, a sound barely audible.

"So… how strong am I now?"

「Calculating current peak combat capability…」

A brief pause.

「Result: SS rank, according to Chronarch World standards.

Total decline in strength: 99.XZY percent.」

The smile on Akira's face didn't fade. If anything, it became calmer.

"And how long until I recover?"

「Minimum recovery period: six to seven months.

Projected recovery ceiling: SS-rank strength.」

Then, the system added, almost as an afterthought—

「From this point onward, you are unable to utilize chakra-based abilities, including Sage Mode.

Your only remaining combat system originates from the One Piece world—Devil Fruit authority.」

Akira closed his eyes briefly.

「Additionally, your physical body is significantly weaker than before.

Soul strength has declined by more than one hundred times.

However, it remains sufficient to sustain SS-rank combat.」

Akira exhaled slowly.

"What about Yatagarasu?"

His voice carried genuine curiosity now.

"What's his peak strength—compared to mine?"

「Post-transformation, Yatagarasu possesses two states.

Base Form and Awakened Form.」

「Base Form strength exceeds your former peak by more than ten times.

This includes the cooperative state of one thousand and one Akiras.」

Akira smiled—truly smiled this time.

"Good."

After a moment, he asked one final question.

"And the awakened form?"

「Awakened Form represents Yatagarasu's absolute potential.

Activation conditions are self-determined and unrestricted.」

A pause.

「However, once Awakened Form is released, Yatagarasu's chakra will permanently dissolve.

During his Awakened form, Yatagarasu's strength is equivalent to the likes of Shibai Otsusuki.」

Silence followed.

Akira lay there, staring at the sky, his body broken, his power gone—

and yet, his expression was peaceful.

As if everything had gone exactly as planned.

---

A few minutes passed.

Then—

Crack.

The sound echoed across the Desert of Death like fractured reality itself.

Akira's blurred vision sharpened slightly as he looked upward, anticipation flickering through his exhausted mind. The black sphere suspended above the desert trembled, thin fissures spreading across its surface like shattered obsidian.

And then—

Pressure descended.

Not chakra. Not killing intent. But existence.

It pressed down from the sky as if the world itself had acknowledged a higher authority.

Akira and those beside him were untouched. The pressure curved around them naturally, as though instinctively recognizing allies—protected, exempt.

The rest of the Chronarch World was not so fortunate.

Across nations, across villages, across battlefields and cities alike, beings were forced to their knees.

Civilians collapsed where they stood, breath knocked from their lungs. Genin, Chūnin, Jōnin—flattened without resistance. Kage-level shinobi clenched their teeth, veins bulging as their bodies were driven into the ground. Even SS-level powerhouses felt it.

Suffocation. Not of air—but of rank.

A crushing realization that something far beyond them had come into being.

Far away, Madara Uchiha stood still.

The pressure weighed on him—but it did not dominate him. He remained upright, cloak fluttering, eyes narrowed.

He understood immediately.

This was the same realm. The same domain of existence.

Only— Madara stood at its lowest boundary.

And whatever was descending now—

Occupied its absolute summit.

Back in the desert, the cracking intensified.

The massive black sphere fractured completely. Its shell collapsed inward, fragments dissolving into nothingness rather than falling.

Then—

From within the collapsing void, something emerged.

A raven.

Colossal.

Its form was unmistakable—Yatagarasu. Yet everything about it had changed.

Its feathers were deeper than black, carrying faint patterns like flowing laws etched into their surface. Its eyes burned with an ancient clarity that made even the sky feel small.

Its body stretched endlessly— A height of nearly one kilometer. A wingspan that eclipsed the desert itself.

The moment it fully emerged—

"KRAAAAAAAAA—!"

The cry resounded.

Every being in the Chronarch World heard it. As if the raven stood right beside them, its voice reverberating within their souls.

Mountains trembled. Seas stilled. Space itself seemed to pause.

Then—

The pressure vanished.

Withdrawn.

As effortlessly as it had arrived.

The massive raven began to shrink, its titanic form condensing smoothly, law folding inward upon itself. It reduced—until it returned to a familiar size.

One meter tall.

It descended gently, hovering just above Akira's fallen body, shadow falling over him like a protective mantle.

Black eyes met his.

And softly—

"KRAAAAA."

Akira seemed to understand Yatagarasu's message without needing words.

He exhaled softly and replied, his voice calm despite his condition.

"I'm just a little weak right now. Nothing life-threatening. I only need a few months of rest."

Yatagarasu lowered its head slightly and answered with a short cry.

"Kra."

Then again—

"Kra! Kra!"

Akira smiled faintly.

"My strength may have declined," he continued, his tone relaxed, almost amused, "but if I could reach the peak of the world once, then I can do it again. A second time. A third time. So you don't need to worry about me."

He paused for a moment before adding lightly,

"And even if my strength were to fall all the way down to that of an ordinary civilian, I'd still have nothing to fear."

Akira lifted his gaze to the raven hovering above him.

"After all, right now, you're the strongest existence in this world," he said. "Or rather… the strongest in this universe, if you were to use all of your power."

A hint of humor crept into his voice.

"So, you won't abandon me, right?"

Though Akira already knew the answer, Yatagarasu nodded firmly and let out a decisive cry.

"Kra!"

Akira's smile deepened.

"Good. Thank you."

Then his expression turned solemn—not heavy, but resolute.

"From this moment on, Yatagarasu," he said slowly, "you are the god who oversees reincarnation. The god of karma. The god who governs the laws of cause and effect."

He looked toward the endless sky beyond the desert.

"If I'm not here… then you'll take care of it all. And if other worlds ever become connected to Chronarch—"

"—they'll fall under these same laws as well."

Yatagarasu spread its wings slightly and let out a powerful cry in acknowledgment.

"Kraaaaaa!"

" Yahahahhahaha "
