Chapter 2 - 2

Can't be cured, just wait for death, farewell.

The three-part 'miracle doctor' meme I saw online flashed through my mind, but it seemed I might still be salvageable. The pressure on my heart was so great that if it had been pierced, it would be like puncturing a high-pressure water pipe, with blood spraying several meters. Since there was no blood spray, it meant my heart wasn't pierced. Perhaps this body was a one-in-a-million mirror-image person, with the heart on the right side.

Comforting himself like this, Li Tian quickly grabbed both ends of the tear and pulled hard, 'Tear!', ripping his shirt into two halves. He turned around under the streetlamp to examine his wound. As far as his eyes could see, most of his chest was covered in sticky blood, which had mostly turned black due to surface oxidation. On the left side of his chest, slightly towards the center, was a three-centimeter long wound. The pale muscles, skin, and other tissues around it were rolled outwards, gaping like a baby's mouth. Although the wound was no longer bleeding, just looking at it was extremely terrifying, especially since the wound was on himself.

The blood on his clothes and body must have come from this wound. No wonder his face was so pale. Damn it, with so much blood lost, how could his face not be deathly pale? It was a miracle he didn't go into hemorrhagic shock.

Just then, a dark red, blood-like substance surged from the massive wound, filling it instantly, and then the wound disappeared. Yes, there was no healing process; it vanished illogically in an instant, with an attitude of 'I'm gone, what are you going to do about it?', completely unconcerned about whether Li Tian could accept it.

'I must be dreaming!' Li Tian felt like he was talking in his sleep. He quickly reached up and touched his chest. Besides the sticky blood, he couldn't feel any trace of a wound. The terrifying wound he had just seen with his own eyes seemed as if it had never existed. Now, Li Tian strongly suspected he was living in a dream; otherwise, how could something so utterly impossible be happening?

After touching his chest several times like a pervert without finding the wound, Li Tian could only give up. What else could he do? Cut it open again to challenge it? The last person who did that passed away peacefully.

'Crossing over, something so ridiculous, has already happened. This is just a small matter, a small matter.' Li Tian comforted himself inwardly. As he put the dart he was holding into his pants pocket, his fingertips touched something hard inside the pocket.

He let go, letting the dart slide into his pocket, then tightened his fingers around the end of the hard object. He pulled it out of his pocket and looked at it. It was a silver-white metal object, about the size of a PSP.

In the center was an off-white, roughly square shape, arching outwards to form rounded curves, firmly fitted into the outer silver-white metal frame. The upper silver-white metal frame was inscribed with nine symbols of unknown meaning. At the very center was a silver ring, inlaid with a smooth ruby. Faintly visible inside was a silhouette composed of various lengths of bars, which looked extremely familiar.

'DECADE's Driver? No way!' A flash of lightning seemed to cross Li Tian's mind. He suddenly remembered this was the transformation device from the tokusatsu series 'Kamen Rider Decade' he had watched before, the Emperor Rider's transformation device called the Decade Driver!

As the memory of what the object in his hand was flashed through his mind, the ruby in the center of the Decade Driver in his hand lit up. A crimson light flowed like water, rapidly spreading across the entire Driver, causing its surface to glow with a faint crimson radiance.

In this light, the metal frames on both sides of the Decade Driver slid left and right, causing the roughly square shape with curved sides in the center to also rotate ninety degrees, gradually revealing a slot ninety millimeters long and only six millimeters wide. Then, all the light gathered into the slot like a tide, condensing under Li Tian's gaze into two thin cards, lying quietly in the card slot.

'This can't be real?!' Li Tian's mouth was wide open, large enough to fit his fist with room to spare. He stared blankly at the Decade Driver in his hand, which was emitting crimson light. He had personally witnessed these two cards appearing out of nothing. No matter how exquisitely made a toy was, it couldn't possibly do that, right? Is it true that transmigration comes with a cheat? Then this Decade Driver is the cheat. Coupled with the surrounding buildings, roads, and vehicles, could it be that he had transmigrated into a Kamen Rider World set in modern society?

Thinking this, Li Tian rubbed his right hand vigorously against his waist, wiping the sticky blood onto his dirty shirt. Then, he carefully picked up the two cards from the Decade Driver and quickly scanned their contents under the streetlamp.

The top card was a plastic card resembling an ID card, entirely in English. It started with 'New York STATE'. On the left was a half-body photo, identical to the reflection he had seen in the shop window, as if it had just been taken. The name was a genuine English name, Gregor Russoff, and the date of birth was July 12, 1994. Above the name was the phrase 'driver license'. There were many other details listed, including pupil color and vision, making the content quite extensive.

The card below, filled with blue patterns, felt like a hard paper card. It was also entirely in English. At the top was a line of large text, 'SOCIAL SECURITY'. In the middle was a string of nine bold black numbers: 670-80-7264. Below that, in a slightly smaller font, was the line 'THIS NUMBER HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED FOR Gregor Russoff', meaning this number was assigned to Gregor Russoff.

Above the 'SIGNATURE' label at the bottom of the card was the handwritten signature of Gregor Russoff. Although it was in English, the messy handwriting was indeed his own. However, he had never even taken an English name, let alone signed one.

'Wait, why can I understand this?' Li Tian suddenly realized something was wrong. These two cards were entirely in English and Arabic numerals, without a single Chinese character. His English level had been stably at beginner-intermediate for years; he should only be able to understand punctuation marks. Yet, he could now read it with perfect ease, without any reading obstacles, as if he were reading Chinese.

He looked up at the store's sign, which was full of English words, and still read it effortlessly. He had truly mastered the English he couldn't understand for ten years during school. In that case, everything a protagonist needs for transmigration was complete: a new body, a new identity, an 'otherworld' language, and a cheat.

Hmm, something seems to be missing?

Memories? He had been in this strange body for a while now, but he hadn't 'received' any memories about this boy named Gregor Russoff. Even the name Gregor Russoff was told to him by the driver's license in his hand. But what use was just knowing a name? Where he lived, his family members, his daily study life, etc., were all completely unknown to him. With his acting skills limited to just wide eyes, he probably couldn't even pretend to have amnesia convincingly. He could only sincerely pray that this guy's parents were dead and nobody knew him, otherwise, if an acquaintance came along, he would definitely be exposed after just a few sentences.
