Days turned into weeks.
Kaido was everywhere — in the hallway, the library, the gmt downstairs. He moved though the house like it belonged to him.
Which, technically, it did.
He was polite in front of our parents
Detached in private.
And somehow, the more I try to ignore him , the more aware I became of every breath he took near me.
He has someone — a girl. I heard her ones Laughing downstairs. Her laughter was sharp and annoying. To disturbing to the ears.
When I passed him later, he looked tired, or maybe just indifferent.
" you don't like her," I said before I could stop myself.
He raised a brow. "Excuse me?"
"Thar girl. The one who was here."
He gave s humorless laugh. "You've been spying on me now?"
"No. Just observing."
He stepped closer. "Careful, little stepsister."
People might think u care.
M y face flushed. "I don't."
He leaned down, his voice a whisper against my ear. "Then stop acting like you do."
I walked away, heart pounding, hating him — and hating even more how much I wanted to turn back
That night, I saw him outside through my window. He was smoking near the fountain, rain glistening on his shirt. He looked up — and saw me.
Neither of us moved.
Thisworld was quite except for the rain and my heart beat.
I don't know but I feel im having a soft spot for him.
