Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 Card Drops

Chapter 22 Card Drop

  "Brother."

Qin Ziwu walked over quickly, a smile on his face.

Qin Ziwen gave his younger brother a look, and Qin Ziwu obediently stood behind him, secretly making a gesture to his older brother: "It's all set up, usual spot."

Qin Ziwen nodded slightly, "I trust you to do things."

Receiving his older brother's praise, Qin Ziwu grinned, then looked curiously at the group of people watching in front, "What are they doing?"

"The traps are set up, covered with a thin layer of planks and leaves. Now we need to figure out how to lure the crocodiles over. They're registering people."

Hearing this, Qin Ziwu was eager to try, "Are all the people here?"

Qin Ziwen raised his chin, gesturing over there: "The registration is full. The person who lures the crocodiles gets an extra portion of meat, so they finally chose two people."

Following his older brother's gaze, Qin Ziwu saw two young men stretching their muscles.

Then he peeked into the trap pit, the bottom of which was densely packed with spears, each pointing in a different direction, some straight up, others at an angle.

"Brother, do you think that big crocodile will be attracted?"

Qin Ziwen asked. "Man proposes, God disposes. We've done everything we can."

He naturally hoped to successfully hunt down the male crocodile leader; otherwise, what was the point of two days of hard work?

Intense labor is very energy-consuming and physically demanding.

They'd eaten more meat these past two days than before.

Not just him, but many others shared this wish.

Huang Tao repeatedly and earnestly instructed the two: "If it's not a big crocodile that's attracted, run northeast, don't come towards the trap. There's a special team waiting to meet you near the smaller crocodiles. If it's a big crocodile, just keep going straight."

The two chosen nodded, then carried the crocodile's entrails to the riverbank.

The crowd surrounding the trap gradually dispersed, concealing their tracks.

Meanwhile, three SUVs slowly pulled up nearby, ready to block the pit once the crocodile entered.

Everyone was prepared, waiting for the crocodile to take the bait.

On the riverbank, the two men threw their entrails into the water, then walked back seven or eight meters, keeping their eyes glued to the surface.

Beneath the surface, a huge, dark shadow gradually became clear.

  Their expressions tensed.

  "Splash!"

The water suddenly broke open, and a gigantic crocodile, reeking of blood, leaped out. Its thick limbs rapidly scrambled along the muddy riverbank, its powerful tail sweeping across the water, splashing up large sprays.

The two men reacted quickly and ran.

But the crocodile's burst of speed over short distances exceeded their expectations.

They hadn't run twenty meters when the man in the yellow shirt, lagging behind, was suddenly slammed against the lower back by a tremendous force, landing face-first on the ground.

"Help me!" he shouted, his voice abruptly cut short by a scream.

The crocodile bit into his head and upper body, swallowing him whole.

Like a scene from a horror movie, gore and splattered everywhere.

Hearing his companion's scream, the man in front felt his legs go weak and nearly collapsed. He didn't dare look back and continued running.

But soon he heard the heavy footsteps of the giant crocodile behind him.

The footsteps grew closer, and he saw the location of the trap ahead. An excited smile appeared on his face, but suddenly his foot tripped, and he fell forward, not noticing a rock.

  That was it.

That was the only thought in his mind.

Damn it, how could there be a rock here?

When he got up, the giant crocodile had already charged behind him, its jaws wide open, its nearly four-ton bite force like a giant hydraulic clamp.

  "Ah!"

The bloody scene immediately shocked the onlookers.

Even though the crocodile was only a few dozen meters away from the trap, no one dared to approach and lure it in.

The alpha male crocodile had killed two people, its cold, brutal gaze sweeping around, as if declaring its territory inviolable to the bipedal beasts!

A moment later, the alpha male crocodile turned around, preparing to return to the river.

A pebble swept overhead and landed two meters behind the alpha male crocodile.

Its turning motion paused for a moment, then it turned its head to look at the spot where the pebble had landed.   You'll never believe why I moved to… Sukkur  "Bang!"

This time, a pebble landed precisely on the nose of the alpha male crocodile.

  A deathly silence fell.

All eyes were on the "warrior" who had thrown the stone.

An old man with gray hair, dressed in black long-sleeved shirts and trousers, stood before the trap, fists clenched, eyes wide with rage.

He picked up another stone and hurled it at the alpha male crocodile, roaring, "Beast! Come on!"

  "Roar!!"

Even without a language barrier, it understood the provocation.

The alpha male crocodile roared angrily, its powerful limbs stomping heavily on the ground as it charged towards the old man.

The old man glanced at the others, smiled wryly, and then resolutely turned and walked onto the trap.

The "cover" above the trap was made of planks and plastic, easily traversable by lighter individuals.

"Grandpa, come down quickly! The crocodile is coming!" someone shouted nearby.

But the old man simply shook his head, a relieved smile on his face, watching expectantly as the crocodile charged towards him.

  "Crack."

The wooden planks beneath their feet groaned under the weight.

  "Boom!"

A man and a crocodile plunged into the trap.

  "Agh!"

The howl of the alpha male crocodile echoed from within.

Huang Tao urged, "Quick, drive and block it!"

Zheng Yuan exclaimed in shock, "There's someone in the pit!"

Huang Tao shouted anxiously, "Can a person survive falling in! He's clearly determined to die, don't waste his efforts."

The crocodile tried to climb out of the trap, but injured, it struggled several times without success, its claws digging into the pit walls, scraping off large chunks of mud.

The engines of the SUV parked nearby roared as it slowly drove towards the pit. The driver's door opened, and just as it was about to fall into the pit, the driver jumped out of the driver's seat. One driver jumped in haste and twisted his ankle.

All three vehicles ended up in the pit, though the angle wasn't perfect, but together they were like three large rocks pressing down on the crocodile's back.

  As time passed,

the crocodile's cries from inside the pit grew fainter.

Gradually, a crowd gathered around the pit.

  "Hey, don't push me!"

  "It's too crowded in front!"

  "Don't push from behind!"

A cacophony of shouts and curses erupted.

Some people looked and then dispersed. Once the crowd had thinned out, Qin Ziwen walked over. The enormous male crocodile leader lay quietly at the bottom of the pit, three vehicles pressed against its back at different angles. Some spears had pierced its body, while others were perhaps broken off.

At the bottom of the pit, the crocodile leader's body was still twitching occasionally.

"Damn, that thing's tail just twitched a bit. Is it still alive?"

"I'm not very well-educated, so I don't know, but I've heard that these things are cold-blooded, like snakes, so they can still bite even when they're dead."

  "What's the principle behind that?"

  "How should I know! Didn't I say I'm not well-educated?!"

  "Wait, what's that?! Look!"

On the crocodile leader's back, some points of light were gradually gathering. Under the sunlight, these points of light were particularly noticeable, like white particles with some kind of special effect applied.

White particles intertwined in the void, eventually transforming into a gray card that floated in the air, slowly rotating.

After a brief silence, the onlookers erupted in a cacophony of disbelief.
