When she glanced out the window, she realized that they were entering the castle grounds.
This was it.
She was going to meet him in person… and act like he was just another man in the crowd.
And she would keep to her word, she told herself.
Before she knew it, the carriage stopped in front of the main entrance. The carriage rider rushed around to open the door for them. Aldrich came down first and held out his hand to assist her.
There were a few people conversing at corners that lined the path. But all conversations seemed to die down as eyes fell on her.
Claire felt her face heat up.
Aldrich slid an arm around her waist and squeezed gently.
For some reason, it made her feel more confident.
The place was so… beautiful.
The lights hung in the trees, the glowing flower beds, the pretty and well pruned gardens…
He did a good job - even though she expected no less.
