Chapter 87 - Chapter 87 You Might Die If I Throw This Fireball At You

Crassus and Amy's conversation once again drew the attention of the guests.

Some of the regular guests had witnessed Amy attack Sargeras that morning. Even with the lava demon's resistance, it was nearly burned by that small fireball. Now, Crassus was telling Amy to go ahead and attack, and that he'd consider it a loss if he cried out. Wasn't that a bit presumptuous?

"Look at that purple gold mage staff mark on his mage robe. If I remember correctly, only the robes of honored mages of the Los Empire have this mark, right?" Just then, a middle aged man dressed as a merchant stared intently at Crassus's left shoulder, somewhat surprised. There, embroidered, was a purple gold staff the size of a little finger.

"It really is! Could this old mage be an imperial honored mage?" His companion at the same table was also somewhat astonished, examining the mark on Crassus's shoulder. This was the highest recognized honor for a human mage, no one would dare to impersonate it.

Their conversation reached the ears of those nearby, who couldn't help but glance at Crassus's shoulder. Although most had never actually seen a high ranking mage, they had heard countless rumors about them.

Since General Mai Ge • Alex's death, the Imperial military had long lacked a griffin rider capable of single-handedly slaying a dragon. In recent years, when evil dragons attacked Imperial towns, it was mostly high ranking honored mages who appeared, using their powerful magic to drive away the dragons and protect the peace of the region, earning them increasing respect and love from the people.

Moreover, Imperial Honored Mages are at least level eight mages, each possessing extraordinary strength and having made great contributions to the Empire.

If this white-robed mage is indeed an Imperial Honored Mage, then he is at least a high ranking level eight mage.

This is a senior figure who would make most magicians take off their hats in respect, yet he has been repeatedly thwarted by Amy. Judging from what he just said, he probably wants to take Amy as his apprentice, but the young girl seems to look down on him.

"Since when has it become so difficult for a level eight mage to take on an apprentice?" A question flashed through everyone's minds simultaneously. If Amy is too young to understand, then with Mai Ge's ability to create such a diverse and eclectic restaurant, he surely possesses enough knowledge to recognize the mark of an Imperial Honored Mage.

Even after Crassus expressed his interest, Mai Ge remained calm and unmoved. This unusual behavior surprised everyone and led to other speculations about Mai Ge's identity and strength, such as, "Perhaps Mai Ge looks down on that old mage? Is he a more powerful mage than that old mage?"

As for Crassus's invitation to Amy, after learning his identity, everyone felt there was no suspense.

One is a revered mage of the Los Empire, and the other is the youngest daughter of a restaurant owner who can barely walk. The difference in their status and strength is like heaven and earth. Even if Crassus stood there without moving, Amy couldn't possibly cause him any harm.

"A mage capable of repelling a dragon with a single fireball spell is no longer just level eight, they're at least level nine, perhaps even level ten." Sargeras thought to himself, the scene outside Luo Du years ago still vivid in his memory.

However, glancing at Amy, Sargeras's expression turned somewhat strange. Even a level ten mage, underestimating this little girl's fireball spell, would likely suffer as he had that morning.

The fireball, though small, was incredibly powerful, its temperature exceeding that of the flames engulfing his body. At such a young age, possessing such terrifying talent—if he was a mage, he would probably want to take her as his apprentice.

Hearing Crassus's words, Amy became interested and said with some disbelief, "Grandpa White Beard, are you serious? You might die if I throw this fireball at you."

"Of course I'm serious, little girl. Go ahead and use your full strength. Don't worry about me. If I can't even withstand one of your fireballs, I'll only be able to bully little kids." Crassus waved his hand confidently, though he felt a warmth in his heart at the little girl's concern.

Hearing Amy admit she could cast fireball, he was overjoyed. This meant that even with the limitations imposed by their bloodlines, she could still use magic and had potential. However, her true talent would only be known after seeing her use it up close.

"I'm just worried I might accidentally burn the chair and table." Amy said, glancing worriedly at the table in front of Crassus.

"..." Crassus was momentarily at a loss for words, unsure how to express his feelings. He hadn't expected to be outclassed even by a table and chair. Frustrated, he could only helplessly say, "It's alright, if it burns, I'll compensate you for the price."

"Alright, since you've so earnestly requested it, I'll just have to throw you a fireball. This kind of request is really annoying." Amy nodded, her expression like that of someone looking at a mischievous child. She placed the Ugly Duckling on the other side of the counter and instructed Crassus, "If you can't stand it, remember to call out early."

"That won't happen." Crassus shook his head, his expression relaxed and carefree, displaying a certain masterly air.

"Here I come." Amy looked at Crassus and reminded him, then put her little hand in front of her. A flame suddenly shot up and shrank into a small blue purple fireball, which she then casually tossed towards Crassus.

"This pure magical power!" Cassus's eyes widened as he watched the flame leap from Amy's hand. He saw the shrinking blue purple flame and the magical power within it was so pure and clean, completely unaffected by other elements. Even though it was just a small fireball, it possessed such astonishing energy.

Of course, a fireball of this magnitude was merely a tiny spark to him, but within that spark, he saw limitless possibilities.

At the age of three or four, without any formal magical instruction, she had somehow mastered the fireball spell, and instantly at that! She even knew how to throw it. Wasn't this the kind of genius he had been searching for?

Moreover, and most importantly, this simple and brutal fireball spell was his favorite. He couldn't speak for other spells, but when it came to fireball magic, he dared to claim that his fireballs were the fastest and most powerful on the entire Nolan Continent. No one dared to claim second place.

After all, even against dragons, he would simply use fireballs, sending those massive creatures scattering in all directions. Only he could do that on the entire continent.

In that brief moment of hesitation, the fireball landed on his long beard, ignited instantly, and shot upwards with a whoosh.

"Oh no!" Crassus exclaimed, forgetting what he had just said, and ran towards the door, his chin blazing with flames.
