Chapter 161 - Chapter 160 Do I Look Like Someone Who'd Freeload?

As the sun began to set in the west, Sally picked up a bedsheet drying outside the Geya Hotel. The faint scent of soap on it eased her mood considerably. Looking at the woman sitting quietly on the chair by the door, embroidering a large golden bird, she said, "Boss Lady, I'm going out for a bit. I won't be back for dinner tonight."

The woman was about forty years old, slender, with long black hair simply tied up in a bun and secured with a silver hairpin. Her appearance was ordinary, but she looked quite gentle. Hearing Sally speak, she put down her embroidery, looked up at her, smiled and nodded, saying, "Okay, be careful on your way."

"I will." Sally nodded with a smile, took the bedsheet inside, and soon came out again. She nodded to the Boss Lady, who had resumed her embroidery, glanced at the embroidery that was almost halfway done, and then turned and left.

Although the salary wasn't high, but the Boss Lady had been quite kind to her these past few days, providing free room and board. The food was bland, but it suited her taste perfectly, though it lacked a bit of flavor. Of course, it couldn't compare to the delicious Yang Zhou Fried Rice.

"If I only eat one serving, it should be enough. I can earn it back in a month." Sally clenched her purse, nodded vigorously, and quickened her pace.

...

"Norvan, you're still a loyal friend, buddy. But that's enough for today, I need to go eat. We'll drink again next time, next time!" Crassus waved and said with a smile at the entrance of Chaos Academy.

"Crassus, don't be in such a hurry to leave. It's been over ten years since we last met. Tonight, I'll take you to the Freyr Tavern for another drink. Their Roast Suckling Pig is excellent, you probably won't find anything this delicious in Luo Du." A man dressed in a black and white robe grabbed Crassus's hand and said with a smile.

The man looked to be in his forties, with his short hair neatly combed back in a 2:8 part. He had a somewhat square face and looked authoritative without being angry. However, he was already a little drunk, with his cheeks flushed, and he held Crassus's hand tightly.

"What's so great about Roast Suckling Pig? Tonight, I'm going to have some delicious sweet tofu pudding. The taste is unforgettable." Crassus's face showed a hint of intoxication. He still couldn't forget the bowl of tofu pudding he had that morning.

"Tofu pudding? Like pig brain or monkey brain?" Norvan looked at Crassus with some doubt. [1]"Didn't you hate these things the most? Why do you suddenly like them now?"

"It's not that kind of vulgar thing, it's not a real brain, but it's a thousand times, ten thousand times more delicious." Crassus shook his head, smiled and removed Norvan's hand, "You're eighty years old now, you're not a child anymore, so don't try to follow me around all day."

Brandley and the Dean of Students stood quietly to the side, their expressions somewhat strange, and their gazes toward Crassus were filled with undisguised shock.

In this Chaos City, even the City Lord and the Lord of the Gray Temple dared not speak to the principal like that. After all, the principal had directly fought with the Lord of the Gray Temple in the Gray Temple because of the school. It took more than a month to repair a large hole in the roof of the headquarters, and the Lord of the Gray Temple had to make concessions to quell the principal's anger.

But now Crassus is acting like an elder lecturing a junior, yet the principal doesn't seem angry at all, which is quite surprising.

"It's been so many years since I last saw you, I've missed you terribly. But since you're going to settle down in Chaos City and teach apprentice at Chaos Academy, then we can drink together more often from now on." Norvan smiled, then asked curiously, "By the way, is that tofu pudding really that delicious? Should I go try it with you?"

"Of course! Not only the tofu pudding, but the other two dishes are also rare delicacies. It's from the restaurant run by my precious apprentice's father. Enough talk, let's go quickly, there's still a queue." Crassus nodded, eager to leave.

"Principal, there's a banquet at the City Lord's Mansion tonight, and they've invited you and your wife. What do you think..." the Dean of Students said hurriedly, his expression a little uneasy.

"I almost forgot, Crassus, it seems I can't go with you today. But you took the restaurant owner's daughter as your apprentice, you're not thinking of getting free meals everyday, are you?" Norvan nodded, he had almost forgotten about this. The so-called banquet was actually an informal meeting between the Gray Temple, the City Lord's Mansion, and Chaos Academy. The main members of the three parties would be present, and a meeting would be held after the meal. It was held once a month to enhance communication. As the head of Chaos Academy, he naturally couldn't be absent.

"Do I look like someone who'd freeload? You go ahead and get busy, I'm going to queue up." Crassus raised his hand, turned and walked towards Aden Square, muttering with a look of utter dismay, "Freeloading? I even paid for his daughter's meals at home!"

...

"Boss, we just found the lair of that Flame Raven. Why don't we wait a little longer? It will definitely come back after dark. That's a bounty of five Rou Jia Mo!" Kiel asked Sargeras, carrying his iron cudgel and walking beside him with some confusion as Sargeras strode away.

Mond, carrying two large sacks, had a similar expression. Today was the Burning Legion's first expedition, and the results were plentiful.

"Why are we working so hard to take on missions?" Sargeras asked without stopping.

"For The Rou Jia Mo!" Kiel and Mond responded almost simultaneously.

"The restaurant is about to open for business, so we need to go to the Chaos Guild first to cash in on all of today's spoils then take a shower before buying Rou Jia Mo. The restaurant is so popular that if we go too late, we might miss our last meal of the Rou Jia Mo of the day." Sargeras nodded.

"That won't do!" Kiel and Mond immediately tensed up and quickened their pace to catch up with Sargeras.

...

"I bet there will be a lot of groans today." In the restaurant, Mai Ge looked at the menu in his hand, which read: Tofu Pudding (Savory or Sweet) - 200 Copper Coins a Serving, Note: One serving per person.

A faint commotion could be heard outside the restaurant.

[1] Notes: 豆腐脑 (Tofu Pudding) is pronounced "Dou Fu Nao" in Chinese. "Nao" in Chinese means "brain." This is why Norvan believes tofu pudding is related to the brain.
