Chapter 232 - Chapter 231 Flown Back Up Into The Sky

"Why is it suddenly so quiet?"

"That explosion just now...it seemed like there was magical energy coming from the mountain. Could it be that there's a powerful mage up there?"

"Most likely, that father and daughter were quite lucky."

"Yes, but to take down a copper-skinned wild boar so quickly, that person must be at least a level four mage, right? And they're still wandering around the outskirts—did they go up the mountain for a hot spring?"

The mercenaries below the mountain looked up in surprise and uncertainty. After an explosion, everything returned to calm. The copper-skinned wild boar that had caused the commotion seemed to be dead, so there was no need to rush to leave.

"Hey? Look, isn't that the hunter from before? He seems to have a boar tusk on his waist now!" Soon, everyone spotted Gai Yi coming down the mountain, their eyes fixed on the boar tusk at his waist.

Gai Yi ignored their stares and naturally wouldn't tell them what had happened on the mountain. He led his horse towards the entrance of Stranglethorn Vale. With a four years old daughter who was a level three mage, he didn't believe Mai Ge was really just a restaurant owner.

"Of course, but we need to get ready to go down the mountain, it's too dangerous here." Mai Ge nodded with a smile, glanced at his injured right hand, hesitated for a moment, and then said in his mind, "System, I need a first-aid kit for treating wounds."

"This system is a proper Chef God training system, so I do not provide medical services. Please handle this yourself, host." The system's voice rang out, quite serious and self-respecting.

"Cash." Mai Ge curled his lip, patted his bag, and made a soft clinking sound of gold coins.

"Dear host, this system has prepared for you a medical kit that is the most practical, convenient, and all in one solution for home and travel, which includes: alcohol swabs, iodine, masks, sterile gauze, round-tipped scissors, scalpels..." The system's voice suddenly became obsequious.

"I just need iodine and gauze. How much?" Mai Ge interrupted calmly.

"Host, these are all essential items for home and travel, enough to support a minor surgery. They are absolutely high quality and low price. Buying them is a steal! If you miss today, you'll have to wait another year!" The system's voice couldn't help but get louder.

"System, when you want to eat watermelon, do you first buy a watermelon patch?" Mai Ge asked coldly and sarcastically.

"This system doesn't eat watermelons, but if the host wants to, this system has already selected the best location on the Nolan Continent to grow watermelons. As long as the host obtains a watermelon-related recipe, this system will immediately develop and modify it to ensure that the best watermelons on the entire continent are grown!" the system replied earnestly.

"..." Mai Ge's words, which were tinged with sarcasm, were somehow led astray by this quirky system. Of course, saying such things to a system that was frantically growing vegetables all over the Nolan Continent would probably make it seem like it was being praised.

"One set of iodine, one set of sterile gauze, nothing else. If you don't want to sell, fine." Mai Ge repeated.

"One set of iodine and one set of sterile gauze, that's one gold coin in total." The system's slightly displeased voice rang out.

"So expensive? Twenty copper coins, that's the most I can offer." Mai Ge raised an eyebrow.

"The total price of the item is twenty copper coins, and the shipping fee is eighty copper coins. If purchased separately, free shipping is not available. For remote wilderness areas, delivery to your door will incur double the shipping fee." the system replied earnestly.

"10 copper coins." Mai Ge was even calmer.

"60! Half the shipping fee, that's the lowest I can go!" the system insisted.

"5." Mai Ge didn't hesitate at all

"Ding! 20 copper coins deducted successfully."

"Ding! Iodine and sterile gauze are ready. Please specify the delivery address, host!".

The system's voice rang out, tinged with resentment and helplessness.

"Just put it on that rock over there." Mai Ge said, a smirk playing on his lips. This system was too green to mess with him. He glanced at the large rock beside him.

"Are we going back? But this big pig, and that steaming hot spring... Can't we play a little longer and roast some pork?" Amy asked Mai Ge, looking at him with some hesitation.

"You can take a hot bath at home too, but the water temperature here is really nice. Little Amy, you can take off your shoes and soak your feet for a while." Mai Ge squatted down and touched the water, which was about 40 degrees Celsius, and smiled at Amy.

"Okay, okay!" Amy nodded, found a square stone next to the hot spring pool and sat down. She took off her shoes and happily played with the water with her feet. She turned around and waved to the Ugly Duckling next to her, saying, "Ugly Duckling, come here, let me wash your little paws."

"Meow~" The Ugly Duckling glanced at the misty hot spring, shook its little head, and backed away, looking unwilling.

"I don't want to carry you when you're all dirty. If you're not going to wash, then you can walk home by yourself." Amy said seriously, looking at its muddy little paws.

"Meow meow~" The Ugly Duckling glanced at the thorny hillside and immediately felt dejected. It walked towards Amy with a reluctant expression.

Mai Ge shook his head with a smile. This cat's life was truly pitiful. He reached out and took a small medicine packet that had appeared precisely on the rock. With his back to Amy, he untied a handkerchief, cleaned the wound, and wrapped it with several layers of sterile gauze.

In this other world, he has to cherish his life even more, and as a chef, having a pair of intact hands is extremely important. Although the injury is not serious, but it will probably affect his cooking for the next few days.

After bandaging the wound, Mai Ge tricked the system into giving him a rope, which he used to tie the Flaming Chicken on the ground. He lifted the knot, finding it much easier to carry than just the chicken leg.

"Alright, dry your little feet, let's go home." Mai Ge said with a smile as he watched Amy playfully splashing water with her little feet on the Ugly Duckling.

"Okay." Amy nodded, rubbed her wet little feet against the Ugly Duckling's face, and giggled.

"Meow meow~" The Ugly Duckling wiped its face with its little paws, looking pitifully at Mai Ge for help. Half of the cat on its body was wet, but its four little paws were clean.

Mai Ge took a dry towel out of his bag and first dried Amy's tender little feet. Then he dried the Ugly Duckling's body. He took out a Bai Ji Mo from his bag, broke it in half and handed it to Amy. He took the other half and took a bite to replenish his energy.

The Bai Ji Mo were baked a little longer this morning, making them fragrant and crispy. They weren't dry like sweet crispy biscuits, and were more like large Want Want Small Baked Buns.

"Daddy, this flatbread is so delicious! I want to eat another one after I finish this one." Amy held the flatbread in both of her little hands and ate it happily, making soft munching noises. Her eating manner resembled that of an adorable little squirrel.

"Meow meow~" The Ugly Duckling looked up at Mai Ge and meowed twice, feeling as if it had been forgotten.

"Then have another one." Mai Ge nodded with a smile, took out another flatbread, broke off a small piece to feed the Ugly Duckling, and handed the rest to Amy.

After they had eaten some snacks, Mai Ge put the Ugly Duckling in his bag, then carried Amy on his back, holding a half-meter long boar tusk in one hand and the fifty jin Flaming Chicken in the other, and slowly walked down the mountain.

"Daddy, where is your sword?" Amy asked curiously as she looked around with her eagle eye while perched on Mai Ge's back.

"It's flown back up into the sky." Mai Ge said with a smile, walking lightly down the mountain.

"Really? Can we call it down?" Amy looked up at the sky and asked curiously.

"This might be a little difficult..."

The father and daughter chatted as they descended the mountain along the path he had cleared earlier.

"Look, they're coming down. But why is the other copper-skinned wild boar tusk in his hand?" The mercenaries loading the carts down the mountain asked in surprise as they watched Mai Ge descend.
