Chapter 252 - Chapter 251 Ranking Competition?

"Cooperation is impossible, absolutely impossible in this lifetime." Yulian's voice was exceptionally firm. He took two steps forward, then stopped and looked back at Crassus, saying, "You provide the materials for the mage's staff, but I'll provide the materials for the magic wand."

"That's no problem, but to solve the problem of spatial scaling, we'll probably have to go find that kid Norvan again. He's the most skilled in spatial magic, and we need to put a sword inside the mage's staff…" Crassus followed, leaning on his mage's staff. The two walked side by side, embarking on their first collaboration in their long lives in order to create a weapon that combined a magic wand, a mage's staff, and a long sword.

If other mages on the continent were to witness this scene, they would likely be utterly astonished.

"Daddy, can they really do it?" Amy asked Mai Ge expectantly at the restaurant entrance.

"Since they say they can, then there shouldn't be any problem." Mai Ge watched Crassus and Yulian walk into the magic potion shop, smiled and nodded. It was certainly something to look forward to seeing what kind of magic wand these two great mages, who had fought each other their whole lives, would create through their collaboration.

"Strange, why isn't Mo Bai's blacksmith shop open today?" Mai Ge glanced at the blacksmith shop next door with its doors tightly shut and muttered to himself with some doubt. No wonder he didn't come out even when there was such a commotion.

The crowds who had come to watch the commotion had dispersed, but the discussion about the disturbance at the Restaurant Mai Mi had not subsided. Whether someone had died or all the troublemakers had been arrested while the Restaurant Mai Mi remained unscathed, many versions of the story had emerged as the public spoke of it.

"Restaurant Mia Mi is not to be trifled with!"

However, despite their different approaches, everyone eventually reached a similar conclusion. Someone recognized the two fat men who had been taken away. They were council members of the Aden Square Merchants' Union, figures of considerable importance in Chaos City.

"Boss, the tables and chairs are all set up. They're really good quality, not a single one is broken. There's just one door missing. Do you need me to go and get a carpenter?" Yabemia asked Mai Ge after arranging all the tables and chairs exactly as they were.

Sally also used magic to clean up the wood chips on the ground, and apart from the missing door, the restaurant was not damaged.

"Leave this to me. You two can go home now. Consider it a day off. Just be at the restaurant by 7 a.m. tomorrow. You must have been scared by what happened today." Mai Ge said with a smile.

"How could that be? Boss and Amy caught a serial killer! You two are heroes! Even the Gray Temple said they'd reward you both." Yabemia looked at Mai Ge and Amy with admiration, then lowered her head in slight frustration. "If it was me, I'd be so scared I wouldn't know what to do. That guy was so terrifying, and he was carrying a sword..."

"Mia, you have great strength, and your physique and agility are also very high. If you practice swordsmanship, you should improve very quickly. If you were at the level of that guy just now, you would be able to beat him in about half a year." Sally said, looking at the dejected Yabemia.

"Really?" Yabemia looked at Sally in disbelief.

Upon hearing this, Mai Ge also re-evaluated Yabemia. Although Yabemia was somewhat thin, but her strength was comparable to that of a level one knight, and after releasing her dragon tail, she might have reached the standard of a level two knight.

This kind of strength has a natural advantage in sword training, especially with heavy sword, where the weight is incomparable to that of ordinary beginners.

Just as Sally said, Yabemia is indeed a promising talent for swordsmanship, even starting now, she might achieve considerable success.

"Of course it's true." Sally nodded earnestly.

"But… even if I wanted to practice swordsmanship, there's no one who would teach me." Yabemia shook her head, but she didn't seem too disappointed. Instead, a smile appeared on her face. "Besides, I like working at the restaurant. If practicing swordsmanship means giving up my job, then I'd rather not practice swordsmanship at all."

"Yes, I also think working in the restaurant would be better." Sally nodded in agreement.

Mai Ge looked at Mia and Sally, not expecting the two girls to take the restaurant job so seriously. However, he wasn't in a hurry to offer to teach Yabemia swordsmanship. Although he thought the girl was indeed very good, but the matter of swordsmanship would easily expose his identity, since she wasn't Amy.

"Well then, Boss, we'll head back now. See you tomorrow, Amy, goodbye." Yabemia's gaze swept across the restaurant, and after confirming there was nothing left to tidy up, she waved to Mai Ge and Amy.

"Goodbye." Sally also said to the two of them.

"Goodbye." Mai Ge nodded slightly.

"Goodbye, Sister Mia and Sister Aisha! Come dance 'Spring Is Here' again tomorrow!" Amy waved to the two of them and said enthusiastically.

Watching the two leave, Mai Ge looked at Amy, who was yawning, and the Ugly Duckling on the ground, looking at him pitifully. He smiled and asked, "Ugly Duckling, are you full?"

"Meow meow~" The Ugly Duckling immediately shook its head, looking at Amy as if to complain.

"I think it's already full." Amy said hesitantly.

"Meow~" The Ugly Duckling shook its head vigorously in protest.

"Then eat a little more. The Ugly Duckling is still growing, it can't go hungry." Mai Ge looked at the Ugly Duckling's pitiful appearance and still felt a little sorry for it. After all, Amy had eaten most of the small dried fish earlier, and it had gone out to play with them that morning, so it was probably hungry.

"Alright, then I'll just have to add five more laps to your run tonight." Amy shrugged her little shoulders, her tone tinged with helplessness.

"Meow~" The Ugly Duckling slumped to the ground, completely giving up.

Mai Ge took Amy and the Ugly Duckling upstairs, gave the Ugly Duckling two small dried fish to eat, and then coaxed the two little ones to sleep before coming downstairs.

"System, install the door." Mai Ge walked to the doorway, glanced around to make sure no one was paying attention, and said this in his mind.

"Installation fee: 1 gold coin." the system's voice announced.

"Holy crap! Doesn't buying a door usually come with installation service?" Mai Ge raised an eyebrow. Although he knew the system often tricked him, but he didn't expect it to be getting more and more adept at charging for extra services now.

After a brutal round of haggling, Mai Ge successfully got the system to install the door for a fee of 10 copper coins, marking another peak in his haggling career.

Mai Ge looked at the door, which was exactly the same as the original wooden door. He opened and closed it a couple of times to confirm that it was indeed well installed, and then prepared to close and lock it.

"Hello, we are from the Aden Square Catering Association. The Aden Square Food Ranking Competition is about to begin this month. Are you planning to participate in this month's ranking competition?" Just then, two men wearing red vests spoke outside the restaurant.
