Judas expected Nyx to show any kind of rejection. He expected the proud dragon, the Calamity of the North, to scoff at the vampire's lewd suggestion and retreat to the other side of the room with her nose in the air.
Contrary to his expectations, Nyx accepted Summer's hand.
The vampire froze. Her crimson eyes widened, her mouth slightly agape. For a moment, the seductive vixen was replaced by a stunned girl.
Judas smirked, leaning back against the stone rim of the bath. It was too cute to see such an expression on his wife.
Like him, she had never expected Nyx to actually accept the invitation. She had expected disgust, maybe a little moralizing, but certainly not this clinical curiosity.
"Well?" Nyx asked, her golden eyes boring into Summer's. "I am here."
Summer blinked, shaking off her stupor. A flicker of competitive fire returned to her eyes. She wasn't about to back down now.
