Chapter 352: Sasori's Ultimate Art
The Hidden Stone Village grew increasingly lively.
First came Sasori and Kakuzu, followed by Chiyo, Yahiko, and Ameyuri Ringo. In the past few days, an elite squad of ninjas from the Hidden Sand Village arrived, representing the Fourth Kazekage to participate in this alliance.
The alliance process seemed somewhat unsmooth. Yahiko's strength was ultimately insufficient; facing these great nations and large villages, he lacked confidence. However, Masahiko did not intervene to help.
Just as Masahiko had said, if he wanted peace in the ninja world, there was absolutely no need for any Akatsuki organization. He could just plant himself on the battlefield and shout: "All of you go home and eat!"
The war would basically be over.
There were two reasons why he didn't do this. The first was because Hashirama had said: "Peace brought by force is a false peace. Only when everyone understands each other is there true peace." Masahiko didn't entirely agree with this statement, but since it was Hashirama's idea, he was willing to wait and see.
The second reason was that Masahiko didn't have any painful pasts. Relatives dying in wars were things of the Warring States period. Whether there was peace or not really didn't have much impact on him, and it wasn't necessarily more important than nurturing the three children in front of him.
Karin's use of Explosion Release became increasingly proficient. Although she was extremely unwilling in her heart, under Masahiko's tyrannical oppression, she still molded the clay into grenade shapes. After throwing them a few times, she actually found this shape quite handy.
During this trip to the Hidden Stone Village, she gained the most, transforming from the team's deadweight into half of a main offensive force.
"So... the next place we go must be helpful for Haku's and Kimimaro's strength improvement. Can't be biased," Masahiko muttered inwardly.
That's right, he was preparing to leave the Hidden Stone Village.
Time flew by in a flash. He had stayed in the Hidden Stone Village with the three children for more than two months. It was now September of Konoha Year 54, a full five months since they departed from Konoha.
With just over three months until the New Year, Masahiko was definitely going to take Kimimaro and the others back to the Land of Whirlpools for the holidays. The remaining time was only enough for them to visit one more place.
After the New Year, he still had to go to Konoha to see how the struggle between the Senju and Uchiha turned out, and incidentally figure out a way to scrounge some Witness Points. His Witness Points had been stuck at 365 for a while now, and several skills needed upgrading...
"Haku's Ice Release will be affected by cold weather, so we have to head north. As for Kimimaro..." Masahiko pondered.
Seeing that it was getting late, Masahiko didn't immediately inform the three children.
"Tomorrow I still have to say goodbye to Kurotsuchi and the others..."
Masahiko had thought about taking Deidara away, but after spending this time together, he felt Deidara's crazy obsession with explosive art wasn't very endearing. He wasn't a cute little boy...
In comparison, he liked Kurotsuchi a bit more. Unfortunately, the difficulty of abducting her was too high.
"When we say goodbye tomorrow, will this little girl cry? Because she won't be able to eat the food I make?" Masahiko smiled inwardly, throwing himself onto the bed.
Knock, knock, knock...
Just as he lay down, there was a knock on the door.
"Eh? Is it Chiyo? Why look for me so late..." Masahiko frowned and opened the door.
"Senior, sorry to disturb your rest," Chiyo pulled an ugly smile.
"It's nothing. But why are you looking for me so late instead of performing the grandmother-grandson affection drama with Sasori? You don't feel that Sasori is too cold and want me to be a narrator to find some psychological comfort, do you?"
Chiyo smiled bitterly and shook her head. "Senior, I just want to ask if you have a way to help Sasori restore his flesh and blood body."
"Oh, is that so..." Masahiko pondered for a moment. "Will your One's Own Life Reincarnation Jutsu not work?"
Chiyo was surprised. "You actually know about it?"
Before Masahiko could speak, she found her own explanation. "Oh, right, when you came to the Hidden Sand Village to make toys, we were researching this ninjutsu. You must have found out then."
Masahiko revealed a smile and nodded in confirmation.
Chiyo continued, "This jutsu was originally developed to give life to puppets, but because the side effects were too great, it was classified as a forbidden jutsu..."
"You can skip these parts," Masahiko interrupted. "No need to explain the principles of this ninjutsu, just state your purpose for coming to me directly. It's getting late..."
Chiyo nodded, speeding up her speech. "This jutsu might be able to give a puppet life, but it cannot give a puppet a body of flesh and blood. I am not afraid of death, but I worry that even after using this jutsu, it still won't be able to restore Sasori."
Masahiko nodded and glanced behind Chiyo. "Before asking if I have a way, are you sure Sasori is willing to restore his flesh and blood body?"
Chiyo sighed, speaking calmly. "I will definitely make him agree to the restoration."
Masahiko looked behind Chiyo. "Will you agree? Sasori."
Chiyo was stunned. She instantly turned her head to find Sasori standing quietly behind her.
"Boring," these two words once again spilled from Sasori's mouth.
Masahiko smiled and said to Chiyo, "His 'boring' this time means something different from before..."
"Kaka-kaka-kaka-kaka, chua-chua-chua-chua-chua."
After getting Yahiko's payment, Sasori's confidence bolstered significantly; he shot senbon whenever he felt like it.
Masahiko waved his sleeve to collect these senbon, took two steps back, and closed the door with a smile. "You grandparent and grandchild chat, it's time for me to sleep."
The air outside the door quieted for a moment before Chiyo took the initiative. She didn't offer verbal persuasion, but took out a scroll from her clothes. After a few seals, a giant puppet appeared beside her.
"This is a precious creative idea Senior Masahiko brought to us puppet masters." Chiyo's face was calm. Her hands danced, and kaka sounds rang out continuously as the giant puppet consecutively changed into two different forms.
"If one puppet has three different forms, it will have hundreds of attack methods. Sasori, you couldn't possibly not know what this means, right? Moreover, three forms are just my limit. If it were you..."
Inside the room, Masahiko pressed his ear to the door, sighing with emotion inwardly. I give you an idea, and you give me a whole new world...
"Sasori, you walked down the wrong path!" Chiyo's tone became increasingly agitated. "We are the ones who control puppets; we shouldn't turn ourselves into puppets!"
"Granny," Sasori's tone was flat, "This puppet of yours is not bad."
Chiyo's heart sank, only to hear Sasori speak indifferently again: "But only eternity is true art. Let me show you my... ultimate art."
Inside the room, Masahiko frowned. "Sasori's ultimate art, the Performance of a Hundred Puppets? Has he already collected this many human puppets?"
He kept his ear pressed tightly against the door, but it suddenly became dead silent outside. If the chakra fluctuations weren't still there, Masahiko would have thought Sasori and Chiyo had left.
"What's going on?"
Bang!!!
An earth-shattering loud crash rang out, and the ground beneath Masahiko's feet trembled slightly.
He revealed a trace of surprise, forcefully pushed open the door, and walked out. The scene before him made him rub his eyes repeatedly...
The Sasori in front of him was over ten meters tall.
