Chapter 37 - Chapter 37

Gecko Moria, captain of the Moria Pirates, a Kage Kage no Mi (Shadow-Shadow Fruit) user, bounty 115 million Berries. A descendant of the Oni tribe, his strength should not be underestimated. Rumor says he has certain ties to a special family.

Makugai, captain of the Thunder Halberd Pirates, a Static-Static Fruit user, bounty 140 million Berries. His strength cannot be ignored, and the abilities of his fruit have repeatedly left the Marines helpless.

Crocodile, captain of the Baroque Pirates, bounty 80 million Berries, a Logia Suna Suna no Mi (Sand-Sand Fruit) user, the only pirate under 100 million Berries to still be designated among the Supernovas due to his outstanding strength.

Squard the Big Whirlpool Spider, captain of the Big Whirlpool Spider Pirates, bounty 123 million Berries. A skilled swordsman, one of the emerging pirate swordmasters, and he once declared he would challenge Whitebeard's position.

Baron Tamago, captain of the Tamago Pirates, a Zoan-type egg-based Tama Tama no Mi (Egg-Egg Fruit) user, bounty 170 million Berries. His three transformation forms caused multiple bounty increases from the Marines, and his threat level is said to be no less than that of Gecko Moria.

Anorid Eck, user of the Neko Neko no Mi, Mythical Model—Nekomata, a lone pirate with a bounty of 185 million Berries. His purpose at sea is unknown, and his true strength remains unclear. He once destroyed several small towns belonging to a World Government member state, displaying extremely brutal methods of massacre.

Looking at these descriptions in the newspaper, Doflamingo couldn't help thinking the intel work was surprisingly thorough. But was it really appropriate to write it all out so clearly?

Although the newspaper circulated among pirates tended to exaggerate the power of the Supernovas, giving dramatic flair to their descriptions, Doflamingo felt that too much exposure only created more trouble for himself. It seemed that if he had the chance someday, he should talk with the newspaper's president.

The Donquixote Pirates having three members among the Supernovas did not particularly excite Doflamingo, but Vergo was another story. Being young didn't mean his alcohol tolerance was small. After clinking glasses with Doflamingo and Barrett several times, he felt an urge to just get drunk outright.

Everyone must have their own personality. Doflamingo never restricted Vergo or the others. And he was confident that no matter what trouble the family caused, he had the power to handle the consequences for them.

Perhaps Vergo's enthusiasm opened up the drinking mood, and Vergo and Barrett drank more and more energetically.

Meanwhile, Doflamingo continued reading the newspaper. It was strange—today's edition contained an especially explosive amount of news.

Following the headline about the Nine Pirate Supernovas, Doflamingo looked to the right and found something both unexpected and yet entirely expected.

"Shock! The Flying Pirates led by the pirate admiral Golden Lion Shiki clashed with the Roger Pirates led by Gol D. Roger in the Edd War Sea. Details unknown, but the result: the Flying Pirates were nearly annihilated, the Roger Pirates achieved overwhelming victory. After the battle, Shiki disbanded the Flying Pirates and established the 'Flying Thunder God Guild,' instantly becoming its guild master, focusing on logistics, transport, and protection services. In the New World he rapidly recruited personnel, forming considerable scale. Has Golden Lion Shiki lost his ambition?! Three successive shocking headlines."

Doflamingo sighed—Shiki's speed of action truly was fast. He'd barely been away, yet he already founded a guild. And of course, the reason Shiki did not post a reverse bounty was because Doflamingo had advised him not to. The guild had yet to develop, lacked funds, and it would be better to pick a more suitable time in the future. Judging from the result, Shiki had indeed taken the advice.

But the name "Flying Thunder God Guild"—damn it. When Doflamingo saw that name, he nearly broke down.

If he didn't know that Shiki was a native of this world, he would have suspected the man had transmigrated from Naruto.

Flying Thunder God Guild?

If the Second Hokage and Fourth Hokage knew their iconic jutsu name was being used like this, they'd probably cry themselves unconscious in the bathroom.

Of course, Doflamingo understood Shiki's intention. The "Thunder" in the name indicated he did not forget their agreement. As for the "God," that was probably Shiki's twisted sense of humor—after all, the so-called Celestial Dragons fancied themselves gods of the world, and Shiki's naming was practically rubbing their face into the ground.

Whatever effect the name had, it was Shiki's choice and Shiki's consequences. Doflamingo only needed his own objective fulfilled.

Despite being only two pages, the newspaper contained explosive news one after another. Doflamingo, in rare good spirits, joined Barrett and Vergo, and the three laughed, drank, and sang freely.

He did not tell Barrett and Vergo about Shiki's situation—not because he distrusted them, but because Shiki had little real connection to him. As for the future profits of the guild, there would be designated personnel to manage such matters. There was no need to make family members aware of unnecessary details that only added mental burdens.

The bar Doflamingo was in was small, and when a bar was small, a certain situation often occurred—noisy customers would annoy pirates who preferred silence.

That moment had arrived. A young man with slicked-back hair, a right-ear earring, a cigar in hand, draped in a black fur coat with an orange checkered long-sleeve shirt underneath—a full mafia-style look—was glaring impatiently at the trio.

Having read the newspaper as well, the slick-haired young man naturally recognized the identities of Doflamingo's group. Although annoyed, he still did not pick a fight. For one, he was alone and would be outnumbered. And second, it was not the right time. He planned to visit Auction House 1 later to see whether he could recruit Anorid Eck. Getting into trouble now would only cause complications.

Quietly paying his bill, the slick-haired young man quickly left the bar, destination unknown.

Doflamingo had observed all his small actions with his Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation Haki) long before. In fact, he had noticed him the moment he entered. With such a unique outfit, Doflamingo didn't even need Haki to identify him. That familiar pretentious face, that executive-level hairstyle—if he wasn't Crocodile from the original timeline (the one even Doflamingo disliked), who else could he be?

What surprised Doflamingo was that in the original story, Crocodile had always despised him. Even now, Doflamingo felt Crocodile would not change his view. Especially judging from the brief emotional fluctuations he sensed earlier—Crocodile definitely found the three of them annoying. His slightly clenched fists made that obvious.

Regardless of Crocodile's reasons, Doflamingo simply felt things were beginning to get interesting.

Time slowly passed. In the blink of an eye, the three had been drinking and eating for over three hours. At that moment, a faint sense of unease rose in Doflamingo's heart.
