Kenzo and Alcione immediately lowered Lennon onto the sand.
The moment his body hit the ground, Lucien was beside him.
It was a miracle how quickly he was able to move given all the energy he used to separate the large body of water. When Kenzo looked back, the exposed lakebed was long gone and back to its original form, murky water and all.
"Move," he ordered, his voice and face devoid of emotion. The others quickly made room.
Lucien dropped to his knees and assessed him.
Lennon's chest wasn't moving. His skin was cold, and his lips remained an alarming blue.
He looked down at his arm. There was still blood running down the limb from the bite, but that wasn't his immediate concern.
"Nothing?"
Lucien shook his head. "He hasn't taken a breath since bringing him out of the water. Judging from the time he spent there, he more than likely went without breathing for at least three minutes."
His expression hardened.
