Chapter 53 - Chapter 53: That Year, the Unknown Li Ziqi!

General Manager Huang saw that Lin Minghui and Manager Yang did not agree with the business model he proposed, and immediately became nervous again, his gaze quickly turning to Su Yi.

He was afraid Su Yi would suddenly go back on his word.

Su Yi knew what General Manager Huang was worried about, smiled, and said,

"A business model that doesn't work now doesn't mean it won't work in the future. Times are always moving forward. I think General Manager Huang's business concept is very good. Of course… investment inherently carries risks, and I can still bear the risk of a 5 million investment."

"That's true."

Lin Minghui nodded.

"In the financial investment market, risk and profit have always been directly proportional. If this project's traffic monetization model can succeed, it could yield substantial returns in the future."

Su Yi nodded slightly, his gaze turning back to General Manager Huang, and said,

"General Manager Huang, I'll take this financing proposal for now. Tomorrow, I will visit your company for an on-site inspection. If your operating model, team personnel, and signed bloggers are consistent with what is written in this financing proposal, then we can sign the investment agreement.

After the agreement is signed. Of the total 5 million investment, 2 million will be credited to your company account within a week to resolve your company's current short-term debt crisis and several months of overdue employee salaries.

As for the subsequent 3 million, it will be deposited into the company account in monthly installments over the next three months."

"Alright, no problem."

General Manager Huang immediately replied,

"Welcome General Manager Su to inspect our company at any time. I… I'll go back to arrange it right away."

With that, General Manager Huang stood up, bid farewell to Su Yi, and left in a hurry.

Lin Minghui watched General Manager Huang's hurried retreating figure, pondered for a moment, and then said,

"Although the company you invested in, Su brother, seems to have poor operating conditions and a bad business model, this General Manager Huang… is quite a straightforward and practical person.

If first-tier market investment, especially angel and venture capital, primarily focuses on investing in people, then General Manager Huang does fit a certain investment logic."

"Being able to owe three months of wages without any employees leaving indicates that General Manager Huang still possesses a certain personal charm,"

Su Yi interjected, picking up Lin Minghui's words.

"For a startup company and a grassroots team, the most important thing is cohesion. From an initial look… this company meets that requirement."

"It seems that when it comes to this type of project investment, your perspective is still more unique than mine,"

Lin Minghui praised.

"No wonder Old Lei keeps praising how capable you are."

"General Manager Lin, have you found any good projects you're interested in tonight?"

Su Yi asked, changing the subject.

Lin Minghui sighed lightly and said,

"They're all projects where investment risk and future expected returns are disproportionate; they have no investment value. It seems that trying to pan for gold in a garbage dump is not an easy task.

This kind of investment exchange meeting will probably not be necessary to attend in the future. Oh, by the way… Su brother, have you heard of the concept of 'hydrogen fuel cells'? What do you think its commercial prospects will be in the future?"

"This should still be something from the laboratory, right?"

Su Yi said.

"Isn't laboratory stuff still a long way from commercialization? Personally, I think this should be benchmarked against the commercial value of 'lithium batteries,' but from what I understand, if the new energy vehicle industry is to develop greatly in the future, when choosing between these two technical routes, it's clear that current 'lithium battery' technology is more mature."

"I see…"

Lin Minghui seemed thoughtful but did not continue to ask.

Afterward, the three stayed at the venue for a while longer before going their separate ways.

By the time Su Yi drove home, it was almost 9 PM.

He simply washed up and went straight to bed.

The next day, Su Yi got up and had breakfast.

He then went to Xiangzheng Culture, following the company address written by General Manager Huang in the financing proposal.

"General Manager Huang, your company's location was really hard to find,"

Su Yi said after struggling for a long time to find the company in a dilapidated office building.

"There's no sign downstairs, and the receptionist in the lobby knew nothing when asked."

Hearing Su Yi's complaint, General Manager Huang quickly brewed Su Yi a cup of treasured good tea and apologized repeatedly:

"I'm really sorry, General Manager Su, you should have called me before coming. I would have had Xiao Zhou, our company's receptionist, pick you up."

"That's not necessary,"

Su Yi said.

"But your company's location is indeed quite out of the way; customers might not even be able to find it."

General Manager Huang gave an embarrassed laugh and said,

"We mainly do outdoor filming and indoor post-production, primarily connecting with online platforms, so we rarely have walk-in offline clients. But General Manager Su, you're right, a good facade is definitely part of a company's image. When the lease here expires, I'll start looking for a new office location."

Su Yi took a couple sips of tea, knowing that General Manager Huang was truly short on money and couldn't afford to rent a better office space, so he didn't say much more.

"Show me around the company,"

Su Yi suggested after sitting for a while.

General Manager Huang nodded and hastily accompanied Su Yi on a tour of the company's various departments.

"This is our company's video post-production team,"

General Manager Huang said, pointing to three busy young men in glasses in front of computers, then pointed to a slightly chubby girl next to them,

"Xiao Tao is our company's copywriter. She graduated from a renowned university with a degree in Chinese Language and is very skilled at writing copy related to traditional culture.

And this is our company's filming team. This is our company's promotion, distribution, and traffic team. This is Xiao Li from finance, this is Xiao Wang from logistics, and this is Xiao Zhou at the front desk.

These are the internet celebrity bloggers currently signed with our company: A Yao, Xiao Lu, Tieshan, Jiujiu… and Li Ziqi."

During General Manager Huang's introduction, Su Yi smiled and greeted everyone, his gaze finally resting on Li Ziqi.

Upon truly seeing her in person.

Su Yi noticed that Li Ziqi was thinner than in her videos, and without the filter, her appearance was more ordinary.

However, the calm and elegant demeanor about her still made her easily stand out among the company's signed bloggers, immediately drawing attention.

Li Ziqi noticed Su Yi's gaze and quietly observed him in return.

"Li Ziqi and I are from the same village. This child had a hard life growing up and started working in society at 14,"

General Manager Huang said, knowing Su Yi valued Li Ziqi, and focused his introduction.

"Last year, when I went back to my hometown, I saw some videos she filmed by herself and was very moved, so I signed her. We are currently looking for a style that suits her…"

"Good!"

Su Yi nodded.

After fully understanding the company, he returned to the office with General Manager Huang.

"I've learned everything I needed to know. Next, please find a law firm to draft a share transfer agreement, and then we can sign the contract."

General Manager Huang smiled and said,

"According to your requirements, General Manager Su, I've already had someone draft the contract. Please take a look."

With that, General Manager Huang took out a contract template from his desk drawer.

Seeing that he was well-prepared, Su Yi was quite surprised by his decisive work style.

He took the contract he was offered and began to read it carefully.

Half an hour later.

Su Yi found no issues and signed the pre-negotiated share transfer agreement with him.
