Chapter 2 - Eternal System

Michael, who was in a deep state of recovery, heard a sudden sound.

[Ding. The Eternal Intelligence System is binding.]

[Do you wish to bind? Yes/No?]

Michael, who was in a deep state of meditation, suddenly heard a voice. He opened his eyes to see no one there, only a digital panel interface floating before his eyes. He was both confused and scared, as this was an unknown type of alien technology, something he had never heard of.

Sensing Michael's dilemma, the system spoke again.

[Host can be assured the system is not any kind of alien technology. You could rather call it an inheritance procedure left by the Lord who created me, to find a suitable disciple. Many functions will open corresponding to your realm.]

When Michael heard the word "inheritance," he was surprised, as he had not received any type of inheritance in his last life before he died; if he had, he might not have been killed on the battlefield.

As if sensing his thought,

[Host, you do not have to think about it now. You will know everything when the time comes.]

Michael thought for a while. Even though he wanted to know the reason for his rebirth, he knew nothing now about how he had been reborn. It might be due to the system, which explained itself as an inheritance.

With this, he focused on the system.

"System, can you explain your function?"

[Ding. Do you wish to bind? YES / NO?]

"Yes, bind."

[The Eternal Intelligence System begins binding. Please wait...]

[Progress: 1%..5%..25%..]

Looking at the constantly changing progress bar on the panel, Michael held his breath and refused to take his eyes off it.

[Eternal Intelligence System binding successful!]

[Panel]

Name: Michael K.

Age: 25 years old

Cultivation: Late-stage General

Bloodline: ??? (Not activated)

Gene Level: 1 (Normal Human)

Cultivation Method: Qi Forged Path (Body and Mind Tempering Method)

Race: Human

[Intelligence 1: 25 km north of here is the body of a deceased Warlord-level being who had obtained a 10,000-year Willow Heart plant elixir, as well as a storage ring which holds other resources for cultivation. 12 hours remain before a group of alien warriors obtains it.]

Michael was looking at the panel where he saw his data, and he also saw something he did not know much about: his bloodline. He thought he might not have obtained one from his parents, as bloodlines are rare talents which he believed only activate at the age of six, but his never had.

When he was 6 years old, everyone was expecting him to be one of the best talents in his family, as he was the son of a powerful being above a Warlord, but the result was not what they expected. Talent was not something guaranteed, even if you have powerful parents.

Michael learned a hard lesson at an early age about how surroundings change around you when you are not talented enough.

Michael dropped the thoughts from his past and focused his eyes on the latest information on the panel.

When he looked at the information, he was sure that if it was true, then it would be his first step toward becoming powerful, as strength could ensure survival in a place where you did not know who was a friend or an enemy.

Neither human nor alien could be trusted outside the base, as benefit and greed could bring out inner demons in anyone. Everyone wanted to be powerful, as it was a struggle to survive and get stronger.

Michael, who had gotten the information, did not want to delay; otherwise, the opportunity might be taken by someone who arrived earlier than him.

As he was preparing, he looked at his equipment, most of which was damaged. His body protective armor, which could withstand the force of late General realm warriors, was torn at the sides.

Although it could not help him in a fight now, he had no choice but to use it.

He looked at the watch, which helped warriors track direction in the wilderness and contained a lot of information about situations on the battlefield, as well as announcements from the Federation. It was given to new warriors when they qualified to be a warrior in the trial.

But looking at the watch, a Series 7 in the present, warriors could only buy it if they had influence, as only powerful families or Warlord Realm warriors purchased it for themselves. It was one of the few expensive watches that came with additional emergency features.

Looking at the watch, whose screen was damaged, he thought of his sister, who had given it to him as a gift when he broke through to the Warrior realm.

After putting on his body armor and carrying his sword, he came out of the cave only to realize it was midnight.

The silence of the night was palpable, broken only by the howling of some wild beasts in the distance.

Warriors were basically trained not to go out hunting at night because of the danger lurking in the darkness, with different kinds of mutated beasts hunting their prey when their vision was better than that of humans.

Even aliens tried to avoid raiding opponent camps at night because of the danger the wilderness monsters posed.

But Michael, who knew the opportunity waited for no one, had to get there as soon as possible; otherwise, no one could guarantee he would become powerful.

Michael was sure that whether now or in the future, any information he got from the system might lead to a dangerous place. After all, all information depended on the situation. Who could guarantee that next time might be more dangerous than now?

As he moved in the direction the system had automatically marked, a tracking location appeared before his eyes.

It looked like a map that directed him to the location in the information.

Even though he had the location, he still carefully walked through the forest so as not to attract the attention of any monster.

It took him about half an hour as he tried to avoid attracting any attention. When he reached the place, he found himself in a valley where the dead body was in a cave that looked like it was covered with different branches. Since snow had fallen, it had covered the cave, which was why no one had found the body.

As he moved toward the cave, he became extra careful, knowing he was near the first step to becoming powerful again. He increased his speed.

He moved the large trunk that closed the entrance. The layer of snow on the trunk started to fall, giving him a clear vision of the inside.
