Somewhere Far Away
Deep underground—
far beneath the ruins of Garaki's destroyed laboratory—
something awoke.
Not with violence.
Not with chaos.
But with precision.
With intent.
A low hum rolled through the darkness as dormant systems stirred to life.
Lights ignited one by one, pale and sterile, carving long shadows across an endless chamber of steel and glass.
A voice echoed—
distorted, synthetic, utterly devoid of emotion.
"Primary contingency confirmed."
A pause.
"Subject Zero: Deceased."
Another beat.
"Secondary protocol: Continue."
Along the walls, rows of massive pods stood like silent sentinels.
Inside them—
Figures floated.
Incomplete.
Unfinished.
Suspended between existence and becoming.
Tubes fed into exposed flesh.
Monitors tracked heartbeats that should not yet exist.
A single screen flickered to life.
On it—
Izuku Midoriya.
Hero registration data.
Quirk evolution graphs.
Combat footage—slowed, dissected, analyzed frame by frame.
Every punch.
Every fracture.
Every moment he pushed past human limits.
A second voice emerged from the shadows.
Older.
Colder.
Weighted with certainty.
"All For One is wrong."
The machines whirred louder, as if responding.
"The trigger has been pulled," the voice continued calmly.
"Now… even he cannot stop what comes next."
A warning light flashed red.
One pod began to tremble.
Fluid drained away with a sharp hiss.
Inside—
Fingers twitched.
Muscles contracted.
A breath was drawn—for the first time.
And then—
Eyes opened.
Izuku Midoriya believed his greatest enemy had fallen.
He never realized he was being prepared for something far worse.
