Chapter 80 - Chapter 79: Girl, you're being targeted!

"Achoo! Achoo!!"

Amane, who was playing games on the floor, suddenly sneezed twice in a row.

"I told you not to lie on the floor; you'll catch a cold. You can play games on the bed."

Horikita said, putting down her book, finding a light jacket from the wardrobe, and wrapping Amane in it without a word.

"I feel like someone's talking bad about me behind my back."

Facing Amane's conjecture, Horikita playfully tapped Amane's head with the back of her finger.

"Who would talk bad about you for no reason? Hurry up and get back to bed."

"No, no, I can roll around on the floor... Hey, hey, Suzune, let me down quickly!"

Amane was lifted off the ground by Horikita and then swiftly tossed onto the bed.

"Stay on the bed obediently, understood?"

Facing the serious Horikita, even Amane could only nod quickly.

"That's a good girl."

At this moment, in the Student Council meeting room, everyone's gaze turned to Ryuuen Kakeru.

They had heard of classes giving fewer points, or even maliciously refusing to pay.

What? Was this Ryuuen so kind? He actually gave an extra 50,000 points.

One must know that Class D's class points were currently zero.

And Class C only had a little over 400 class points.

Converted, that was only a little over 40,000 points.

It was equivalent to Ryuuen casually giving a Class C student a month's worth of personal points.

Just thinking about it made it seem strange.

Ryuuen thought for a moment; he didn't have a very good way to defend himself.

If he directly said it was for Shiraha-san, he would be questioned why he needed to give Shiraha-san an additional 50,000 points in batches.

And if the transfer records were checked, the problem would be even bigger.

Because he had given it to Horikita Manabu in two batches.

He hadn't expected that the method he used to make Horikita Manabu feel uneasy and dare not accept the points would backfire on him in such a way.

As for admitting that he gave points to Horikita...

That statement would be recognized and accepted by everyone.

But the consequences... would directly disrupt his subsequent plans.

In that case, the 450,000 points would be completely wasted.

After much thought, Ryuuen chose the excuse that least fit his personality and that no one would believe.

"After that incident, I reflected seriously. It was also Class C's fault for not restraining Ibuki-san's actions. So, on my own initiative, I deducted 50,000 points from my own points as compensation for Shiraha-san."

Ryuuen felt disgusted just saying such a thing.

But at the moment, facing Ichinose's relentless pursuit, Ryuuen could only use this method to avoid further troublesome matters.

"So, Ryuuen-san voluntarily transferred the points, and it has nothing to do with anyone in Class B or the Student Council, is that correct?"

Hoshinomiya-sensei delivered the final blow.

"Hoshinomiya, regarding matters between students, I believe that as teachers, we should, in principle, not interfere."

Sakaue seemed to want to help Ryuuen, but he was immediately rebuffed by Horikita Manabu.

"As teachers, we should bear a certain supervisory responsibility for the students in our class. For example, regarding Ryuuen-san's additional payment of 50,000 points, what would happen if it were known by someone with ulterior motives? With a slight oversight, Shiraha-san could fall into a storm of public opinion. As Class B's homeroom teacher, Hoshinomiya-sensei has an obligation to protect the students in her class from harm."

Horikita Manabu's eloquent speech left Sakaue with nothing but a dissatisfied huff.

However, he couldn't refute Horikita Manabu's words.

Ryuuen was cornered.

He was already certain that the matter had been exposed.

Continuing to persist would only embarrass himself.

The most urgent matter was to figure out who had seen through his scheme.

Or rather... had a mole appeared by his side?

"Hoshinomiya-sensei is right, I transferred them voluntarily."

Hearing Ryuuen's answer, the few people from Class B showed relieved smiles.

This meant that Ryuuen had chosen to back down.

If bad rumors were to spread in the future, everyone present could prove that the 50,000 points Ryuuen gave to Shiraha were a voluntary gift.

"In that case, the matter can come to an end. I officially announce that this incident is concluded. Class B should use the points reasonably and avoid extravagance as much as possible. Class C, after returning, needs to admonish its students to avoid another violent conflict. If there is a next time, it will not be a problem that can be solved with points. Meeting adjourned."

Horikita Manabu's warning made Ryuuen feel a trace of unease.

However, his plan was not something Horikita Manabu could change at will.

He had already experienced Class B's strength.

Although Ichinose was a tough nut to crack, as long as he defeated Ichinose, Class B would be nothing to fear.

The next target was Class D.

As soon as he thought of Class D, the image of that annoying person, whose face he wanted to punch crooked, flashed in Ryuuen's mind.

That bastard with a silly grin on her face—if it weren't for her, how could he have to pay such a huge sum of 450,000 points?

Initially, he thought Amane was just a bit naive.

So, to get back at Amane for meddling, he gritted his teeth and agreed to the compensation demand, originally thinking that Amane would choose to renegotiate due to the enormous 100,000 points compensation.

But he hadn't expected Amane to agree directly.

This caused Ryuuen's bargaining strategy to die in its infancy, leading to a massive hemorrhage of points.

However, the information he later received was that Shiraha had exempted Amane from having to pay points.

When he heard this news, Ryuuen was so angry he wanted to vomit blood.

But he still accepted his fate.

He refused to believe that Amane could always turn danger into safety.

Since that was the case, he might as well make an example of her.

"Achoo! Achoo!"

Amane sneezed twice again.

"You're not catching a cold, are you?"

Horikita placed her hand on Amane's small head.

She didn't have a fever, so even if it was a cold, it should only be a mild one.

"I don't have a cold! Someone really was talking about me behind my back!"

"Yes, yes, yes. Now get into bed quickly so you don't catch a chill."

Amane pouted and pulled her small blanket over herself.

Seriously, she just sneezed a few times. Suzune was overly nervous.

Just as Amane was bored out of her mind,

she suddenly saw Shiina Hiyori, whom she had added as a friend but never chatted with.

Should she invite Hiyori out to play?

Hiyori seemed like the type of girl who liked quiet.

A direct invitation would probably be hard to succeed.

And such a girl probably wouldn't particularly enjoy shopping.

That left only two best locations:

Palette and the library.

The library seemed more suitable for Hiyori... Just as Amane was lost in thought,

she didn't notice Horikita behind her, watching her send an invitation message to Hiyori..
