After me and Art fucking around for a little while longer we arrived at school and headed to homeroom. Me and Art were in the same class which I was very much thankful for since It would've not only have been a lot harder to make friends but probably a lot more boring too. After talking a bit more to Art and our neighboring classmates our teacher finally walked in "Good Morning class!" She said loud enough for us to hear so we'd quiet down and get to our seats. "Today we won't be doing much since it is the last day before New Years break before the element aptitude test next week so today I figured we'd have some fun and learn more about Elements and Elementals while still getting some History done." My teacher Mrs.Gon said excitedly to everyone else's dismay. Including mine Elements and Elementals are cool and all but that's all I've really gotten to talk about today and I'm sick of it. Plus I figured I would have a great day doing nothing in all my classes then go on break and do nothing for a week before I take the element aptitude test and sadly but not really not get an element and just live a normal life forever and ever. "Oh c'mon guys its gonna be fun so stop whining" Mrs.Gon says while picking up a piece of chalk to start drawing on a chalk board which made me get the chills. How do people stand that sound? I think to myself before something actually starts crawling up my back giving me them again. So in response I kicked backwards as hard as I could which made the assailant wince in pain "What the fuck man" my good friend Kim said, who despite having a very girly name was a boy. "Oh sorry did I hit you, my bad man honest mistake" I say back feigning ignorance. "Bullshit, man that really hurt, I didn't even do anything that bad."
"Bad enough to warrant a punishment" I say shrugging before turning around to see Mrs. Gon was done with her drawing and was going to start
"Okay, class quiet down, we're starting for real now!" she says loudly getting the class to quiet down again "So does anyone know exactly how we got elements?" she asked the class and just as she finished a girl across the classroom's hand shot up "It was handed down to us by the god of light." she says matter of factly while she was talking I realized it was Izzy who answered the question. Izzy was a girl with green hair and glasses and she was very smart so I've heard her voice a surprising amount of times despite never actually speaking to her. "Correct! Yes, long ago when Humans as a race were made the God of Light and God of Darkness came down to our land and ruled over us as kings to get us a strong foot hold, but after a whale of helping the humans grow the God of Darkness found helping us and living amongst us boring and did what?" after asking that another hand shot up this time it was a boy in the front row who's name I think is Todd rose his hand and answered "He took some of his followers and left the kingdom of Argia which him and the God of Light were making together to make a new kingdom called Iluna which neighbours us." "Yes very good Todd, The God of Darkness left the us and the God of Light selfishly to make a rivaling nation just so things would be more interesting and so he decided to make it a game to see which God could grow a Nation better and quicker the God of Light naturally not wanting to toy with Human lives denied the God of Darkness his game saying "No we came down here to make sure Humans could live prosperous lives" After the God of Darkness got denied he was furious and so he decided after a few generations had passed he would declare war on Argia. The war came as a shock to Argia and so Iluna was making great progress in taking over Argia but the God of Light refused to take it all standing down so they..?" she asked and this time I figured I'd get some Participation points and raised my hand and when she pointed to me I answered "He gave all of the army powers called Elements." I answered "Very good Rien, Yes our leader the God of Light decided to give us the power of Elements creating the very first Elementals now during that time period there was a lot less people so about 60% of the population had Elements but after that the number has only dwindled with time." Which i never thought made sense honestly cause if thats true shouldn't we be mostly Elementals by now since most of the people had elements, I should probably ask her "Anywayy" I hear from Mrs.Gon which made me decide to wait until after class to ask "After our God gave us Elements the war quickly changed into our favor and we pushed back Iluna's forces and with that the war was quickly going to come to an end with Argia's victory but the God of Light didn't want the God of Darkness to do something like this again so they stuck them a deal. Saying that they could both go back up to their home if the God of Darkness swore to never meddle with Humans again the God of Darkness apparently being bored of messing with humans agreed to the deal and so after both Gods made sure their kingdoms were in order and the God of Darkness gave his country Elements they both left our world never to be seen again." It's a story I'm sure every person in this room has heard but I'm sure that every person in this room found it just as intriguing as the first time they heard it. The main reason most people find it so interesting is because of how the God of Light decided not to take over Iluna since they had different customs and ideals then Argia and so after the God of Darkness and the God of Light built back up Iluna they both left together leaving humans alone but the "But before the God of Light left he gave his strongest soldier to rule of Argia which is how we now have the royal family who has ruled over us since." Bringgg* A loud bell sound resounds through the school right as she finishes the story "Alright class have a good break and good luck with your elements!!" Mrs.Gon yelled out as everyone got up and was leaving the classroom to go to their second class of the day. Before I left though I went up to Mrs.Gon's desk to ask her about the question that's been on my mind "Uh Mrs.Gon?" "Yes Rien dear, what's up?"
"I was just wondering if most of the population had Elements then. How come now barely anybody has them?"
"Are you sure that a question for your history teacher Rien that sounds like a Biology question to me" she says jokingly to me before continuing "But I can still answer your question its because our God gave soldiers Elements and most of the soldiers were men and so once someone got married with a fully Human girl there kids had about a 50/50 chance to have an Element and after that the number just continued to go down."
"Oh that makes sense actually thank you miss"
"Of course it makes sense it's what happened. Rien now go and hurry to your next class before you're late and you're very welcome." Mrs. Gon said with a warm smile on her face reminding me why she's my favorite teacher.
"Okay Bye Mrs.Gon have a good break!" "Bye Rien and good luck on your aptitude test!" After finishing my conversation with Mrs.Gon I hurried to my next class where we didn't do any work so I just talked to some of my friends about random stuff and that trend continued til my 7th period class gym.
"Hello class!" My teacher started shutting everyone up to listen to instructions about what we were doing today. Surprisingly Mr.Maru was actually really strict and made sure everyone listened very well to instructions which normally makes gym suck but today… "Since its the last day before break you all can do whatever you want today as long as your moving, no standing around gossiping" He said while looking at the group of girls who normally don't like doing anything in gym "Alright thats it if you need help with getting any equipment just ask." and with that me, Art, Elijah, and Kim quickly ran to the basketball court to play a game. After Elijah went to get the ball we decided to start playing since I'm pretty athletic thanks to my Dad I'm not too bad at basketball so even though the other three are on the basketball team I'm not too bad compared to them. After Elijah comes back we decide to do me and Art vs Elijah and Kim since Art was the best of the three on the basketball team and I was obviously the worst out of the four of us. So Kim checks to Art and I immediately start running full speed to the basket since even though I don't play basketball I am faster then Elijah by a lot. Seeing this Art passes to where I'm running too and places it perfectly straight to my chest after I catch I dribble twice before I'm up in the air and hit a reverse lay up to score our first points of the game. "Nice Rien!" Art says as I run back to the three point line "Thanks good pass" Elijah and Kim come back up but they switched men so now Kim was guarding me. "Rien you really should've tried out for the team with us you would've definitely made it" "I don't know about that and besides the only reason I like playing it at all right now is cause im cooking your asses' "Yeah yeah its one point your not doing that again!" Kim retorts as Elijah checks the ball again as we continue playing.
"Fuck man we were so closeee" Elijah groans as we walk into the locker room to change make into our normal clothes "No not really yall were down for basically the whole game" I say back since it was really close at all me and Art were up the whole time (Thanks to Art being miles ahead of everyone else) so we won 12-10, but since the bell sounded right as Art checked it to Elijah he's been insisting that they would've won if the bell didn't sound right then and there. Which they might have but I seriously doubt it. "'Yeah me and Rien cooked your asses" Art said as he took off his shirt to get changed "No you cooked us Rien didn't have a single point after the first one" Kim said back while smirking at me "Shut up dickhead" I said as i threw my shirt at his face "AWH nasty this shit smells!" "Yeah well I really played my hardest man" "NO you just sweated a lot for no reason piggy" "Shut up Baldie!" I shoot back before we start arguing for real though Elijah and Art start walking away since they changed while we were hurling insults at each other "See ya'll at English" Elijah says while him and Art make his way there. In response me and Kim start changing as fast as we can to catch up to them "Hey wait for us!!" Kim screams out to them but they either don't hear him or don't care since they kept walking away anyway. "See ya" I say to Kim as I sprint after the two "awh you dick!!" Kim says as I sprint out after them but as I walk out of the locker room I hear the quick pitter patter of feet coming closer so obviously I start running faster. Eventually when I catch up to Art and Elijah they turn around and see me running so they start sprinting too since they obviously can't let us catch up to them so we all just start running to english together in the surprisingly empty hallways even though were only a few minutes late and the feeling I have in my chest right now doing all of this with my friends is exactly why I would hate getting an element.
