Chapter 64 - What Else Is This But NTR?

Inside the interrogation room.

Thor sat on a chair while Steve and Coulson stared at him with serious expressions.

"His skills are solid. He's definitely not an ordinary person," Coulson said.

Then he spread his feet slightly and looked straight at Thor. "Talk. Who sent you?"

"You took down an entire special ops patrol squad by yourself. You've clearly had professional training, but your style doesn't look like an agent's. You're more like a mercenary," Coulson analyzed.

Precisely because he assumed Thor was a mercenary, he tried to pry information out of him.

But Thor only kept his head lowered, as if he'd already shattered into pieces, completely silent.

As Asgard's eldest prince, the God of Thunder, the bravest warrior of the Realm Eternal, he had lost to a Midgardian.

How was that just humiliation?

This was humiliation.

Especially after getting knocked down, the other guy had even said, "Such a weak god." That one sentence sent Thor straight into self-isolation.

Steve had no idea what was going through his head.

Staying cautious, Steve didn't really believe all the things Thor had shouted earlier, but he still treated him as a major threat.

And after everything that happened in Manhattan with those monsters, Captain America didn't dare underestimate the modern world.

Who knew if this big guy was telling the truth?

Thor, on the other hand, was far more careless.

He never thought much of Earth humans to begin with.

Besides, even though he'd lost his divine power, whether it was in that small town earlier or against the fully armed special ops unit just now, he'd beaten them with nothing but an ordinary body.

That only inflated Thor's confidence.

In his eyes, these Midgardians were nothing special. Weak, soft, not worthy of being called warriors.

What he didn't know was that the man standing in front of him was Captain America, a man who could wrestle with Thanos.

So, because he underestimated his opponent, he'd taken a shield to the head and got dropped on the spot.

"Sir."

A special forces soldier with a bruise on his face walked in. He shot Thor a fierce glare, then reported to Coulson. "We couldn't find any information on this man."

Coulson nodded and motioned for him to leave.

"Who are you, really?" Coulson stepped closer, trying to pressure Thor with the atmosphere.

Thor responded with a mocking expression.

"Move."

"You're not even worthy of speaking to me."

In contrast, his expression toward Steve softened a little.

"You're barely qualified."

Even though he'd lost to Captain America, Thor wasn't completely convinced. He felt Steve had won unfairly.

After all, Thor's divine power had been stripped. He was nowhere near his peak. Still, even like this, Steve was better than other Midgardians.

Coulson didn't get angry. Whether Thor looked down on him or not didn't matter. What mattered was that Thor finally showed a willingness to talk.

Coulson took a step back.

"Captain, I'm counting on you."

Steve nodded and began to reassess Thor.

"You said you're a god…"

Before Steve could finish, Thor dumped everything out in one breath.

"I am Thor Odinson, Prince of Asgard! Future ruler of the Nine Realms! God of Thunder! Everyone on Midgard is my subject!"

To Thor, this wasn't even "useful intel." If anything, it was strange that Earth people didn't already know.

Coulson pressed a hand to his forehead.

He almost wanted to send Thor to a psychiatric hospital.

But Steve went along with it instead. He had keenly noticed that Thor genuinely looked down on Earth.

"If you're the God of Thunder, then what's your purpose for coming to Earth?" Steve asked.

"You think I wanted to come to a savage place like this?" Thor shot back. His voice even carried a hint of grievance. "If the All-Father hadn't exiled me, I wouldn't set foot on Midgard!"

"This planet is primitive and remote. The race living on Earth is weak and useless. Not a single one of you can fight!"

"Sorry, do you need me to remind you?" Coulson immediately cut in. "Ten minutes ago, you got dropped by the Captain in one move."

Having his embarrassing moment brought up made Thor's face stiffen.

But as a god, his arrogance and pride wouldn't allow him to be looked down on by mortals.

"Mortal, you are indeed a decent warrior, but you didn't truly defeat me. You only had the chance because my divine power was stripped by Odin, the All-Father!"

And so, this thick-skulled berserker called Thor explained, from start to finish, exactly how his divine power had been sealed, leaving Coulson with a head full of question marks.

To be honest, Coulson wasn't unfamiliar with aliens, but what Thor described sounded more like mythology.

"Do you dare let me reclaim Mjolnir and fight me fair and square?" Thor shouted at the top of his lungs.

In his mind, as long as he got his hammer back, every problem would solve itself.

These Midgardians would witness the might of the God of Thunder, and he would return to Asgard and condemn the All-Father's absurd decision.

As for the inscription Odin left on Mjolnir before exiling him, Thor hadn't taken it seriously at all.

Come on. He was the God of Thunder!

How could he possibly not be worthy to lift his own hammer?

Not to mention, Mjolnir had fought beside him for years. They were so close they were like lovers. How could it refuse him?

"So what you mean is, anyone, as long as they're worthy, can lift Mjolnir and obtain the power of Thor?" Coulson's tone changed slightly, with a hint of something strange in it.

He tilted his head, his gaze landing on Steve.

If he remembered correctly, just now…

"Captain?"

Steve looked at him first, then lowered his eyes to his own palm. After that, his gaze passed through the interrogation room door, toward the direction of Mjolnir.

Then Steve unconsciously started walking toward the hammer. Seeing this, Coulson ignored Thor and hurried after him.

"What are you doing?" Thor finally sensed something off in their expressions. He shook his head, blond hair swaying, finding it ridiculous.

"You're not seriously thinking you can lift Mjolnir, are you?"

He followed them, but he didn't stop Steve's "absurd" action in his eyes.

Why stop it?

Thor knew these mortals couldn't possibly lift the hammer. Letting these self-important people fail wasn't a bad thing. That way, when he lifted Mjolnir, he'd prove just how noble his identity truly was!

So he watched Steve walk up to Mjolnir and reach out to grip the handle, and Thor even let out a scornful laugh.

"That's impossible, mortal!"

"Only I can lift Mjolnir! Only I am worthy! Because I am Thor, the God of Th, that's impossible!"

His words suddenly jammed in his throat.

Steve grabbed Mjolnir and, without using much force at all, lifted the hammer straight up.

"Mjolnir?!"

Thor felt like he was completely breaking apart.

His entire face collapsed, like a husband who came home after a hard day's work only to see his beloved wife, completely naked, tangled up with some random guy…

Lifting Mjolnir right in front of Thor?

What else is that but NTR?

Next chapter will be a bit later, probably around seven or eight.
