Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Unexpected Visitors Part 2

You have no complaint channels… and I won't tell you how to complain.

So this system isn't afraid of your complaints…" The system's electronic voice sounded a bit guilty.

"Heh heh!" Raymond interrupted unceremoniously, his voice suddenly rising.

"Sigh! You really won't give up until you hit a wall.

I told you, I was sent by the Heavenly Dao… Let me put it this way! You know about the 'One' that escaped, right?

Do you understand variables? Do you think the Heavenly Dao wouldn't pay attention to me?

I can't find it, but… how do you know the Heavenly Dao can't find it either?" A cunning smile played on his lips as he leaned forward, nearing the light screen, and lowered his voice, his words filled with hints and threats, "So… you don't want your superior to know that you went the wrong way, do you?"

The surface of the light screen flickered violently, as if heat waves were rising.

The cartoon face squeezed out an extremely distorted expression: "…Are you a little jerk? So immoral…" The tone was filled with deep speechlessness and grievance.

"??!!!" Raymond's eyes widened, his face showing 3 parts surprise, 3 parts anger, 3 parts humiliation, and 91 parts waiting for exactly that sentence.

"Oh, you! You dare to use such vicious words to curse me?! You don't want to live, do you? Then let's perish together! We'll both die here today!"

There was another moment of speechless silence.

The cartoon face on the light screen flickered a few times, pixels wildly jumping, finally settling into an extremely anthropomorphic, giant eye-rolling, one-sided sneering face: "Ding!…Alright, alright! Your acting is so bad, there's no sincerity at all! This system… at most… at most! Will give you one random prize pool draw permission! Once you draw, the binding will be immediately released!" Its voice sounded like it was squeezed through gritted teeth.

"One time?" Raymond's eyes darted around, a greedy smile spreading across his face as he held out both hands, "No, no! One time is too shabby! I want ten consecutive draws! Draw a hundred times ten consecutive!"

"Extremely unreasonable request detected! Logic rejected!"

"Ninety-nine times is fine too!" Raymond immediately lowered his price.

"Ding! Don't even think about it!" A large red cross appeared on the cartoon face.

"Ninety-eight! Ninety-eight, no less!"

"Ding! You're dreaming (farting)!" The light screen shook with anger.

…The two (human and machine?) went back and forth, haggling in the scorching air for over an hour, Raymond's voice growing louder and louder.

"Ten times! Just ten consecutive draws! One less, and I'll complain about you! Complain until you can never bind to another person!" Raymond stood with his hands on his hips, his voice shaking loose stones from the top of the archway, though who knew where to complain, but the momentum had to be there!

The standoff lasted for over half a minute, and the light screen fluctuated violently, as if on the verge of collapsing.

The cartoon face's expression was twisted almost beyond recognition, and with a gritting "zzzzzt" sound, it painstakingly squeezed out a sentence: "…You win! At most… one random item draw!! Once drawn, immediately unbind!! If you keep babbling, this system will immediately self-destruct its core and perish with you!" Its voice carried a final resolve, as if it had short-circuited from anger.

"You… Forget it, I'll let you off easy." Raymond immediately swallowed "ten times," his eyes shining astonishingly.

He exaggeratedly blew two breaths into his palms and rubbed them vigorously, as if this would rub out good luck, then held his breath and, with the aura of an all-in gambler, slapped his palm down on the center of the rapidly spinning, dazzling colorful roulette wheel that suddenly popped out in the light screen!

"Buzz—" A blinding golden light burst forth, countless tiny light points like stars merging into the roulette wheel.

The next second, several objects of varying sizes landed beside Raymond with a slight whoosh and a "thud" and "roll": Ten distinctly angular, pale yellow, sparkling small fragments (Vitality Shard x 10) A cool-looking dark blue bicycle (Devon Company Mountain Off-road Bicycle x 1) A small pile of blue fruits emitting a grassy fragrance (Oran Berry x 50) Several small bottles containing deep purple liquid (Antidote x 10) Several square objects larger and darker in color than the pale yellow fragments (Vitality Block x 5) A strange capsule wrapped in a thin blue energy film (Ability Capsule [Forewarn] x 1) Two discs shimmering with mysterious data patterns (TM [Life Dew] x 1, TM [Psyshock] x 1) A white fragment of stone, warm to the touch, with golden-white light flowing within it like light and flame, and jagged edges (Reshiram's Light Stone Fragment x 1) A golden energy orb within which countless illusory human figures seemed to be punching and kicking (Bruno's Fighting Ability x 1)

The light screen let out an earth-shattering shriek, filled with the despair of a program crashing: "Damn it! I knew it!! I knew nothing good would come from running into you backdoor-using jinxes!!! A whole month's salary! Ahhh!!!" The system at this moment just wanted to scream, twist, and crawl in the dark.

Raymond's eyes were wide as saucers, his breathing almost stopping.

He eagerly propped up the bicycle; this was a good item for climbing!

"Goodness gracious! I hit the jackpot!" he whispered, casually grabbing a blue Oran Berry and biting into it.

"Crunch." The juice instantly burst in his dry mouth, an indescribably sweet and refreshing vitality, like the purest mountain spring, surged into his limbs and bones, not only instantly quenching the thirst and burning in his throat, but also washing away the accumulated fatigue from days of exposure to the sun like a tide.

Even the burning sunburn on the back of his neck felt a cool, comfortable tingling sensation!

"Ding! Binding released!"

"Brother System!" Raymond let out a satisfied burp, grinned at the air, and waved his hand cheekily, "See ya! Brother! Welcome back next time!"

"Ding! Bastard!! Don't let me see you again! Otherwise…" A ripple appeared in the air, and the system vanished.

In the void, there was dead silence.

The aggrieved and angry system was squatting in a data corner, repairing its locator while gritting its teeth and muttering: "A month's salary!! Damn it!!! I should have maintained the locator before setting off.

Wuwuwu… A whole month's work for nothing!"

"Fortunately! I became a full employee last month, otherwise I wouldn't have passed the internship… I hate these variables the most.

But why does he have spatial fluctuations on him? Could it be… Damn it, connections are really annoying.

Why don't I have connections…"
