She looked him over again with even more intensity, unable to believe what she was hearing.
"That's... that's supposed to be impossible for an Awakener. How did you survive? How did you escape? Did someone save you?"
Yara moved closer as well, her expression filled with awe at Moon's apparent accomplishment. Unlike before, she now understood the difference of power between Awakeners and Evolvers.
"I got lucky," he said simply. "The situation was chaotic enough that I managed to avoid the worst of it and escape when the opportunity presented itself."
Selene nodded thoughtfully before looking directly at him with expectant eyes, "Did you kill him?"
Moon remained silent for a moment, considering his next words. After a while, he decided honesty was appropriate given their close relationship.
"Yes, I killed him."
Hearing his straightforward confirmation, a grin broke out across Selene's face. "Good…Really good!"
Her reaction surprised Moon slightly.
