Weaponmaster amplified every blow, and the purple lightning coating his blade made each strike even the more fearsome.
The first man took a lightning-enhanced slash across his forearm. His fingers spasmed and the chain dropped from his grip.
Moon took advantage of that, and lunged for the killing blow. Before he could land his attack, a flash of white light exploded in his face.
Moon's vision went blank for a moment.
'Blinding rune!'
His hand was already moving before the thought fully formed, pulling a shielding rune from his pocket and activating it.
An Evolver rushed towards him. Moon did not let him, sending a bolt of lightning towards him.
~BOOM~
The explosion tore through the space directly in front of Moon. The shielding rune absorbed the brunt of it, but the force still sent him skidding backward, his boots carving grooves into the stone. Heat washed over his face. Fragments of bone and armor peppered his shield before it shattered.
