After spending some time listening to Yara's story, Moon returned to the training range and attempted to work on the final skill.
Piercing Arrow.
He nocked an arrow, activated the skill, and released.
The skill was aggressive, with high-impact.
He liked it.
He tried to keep going.
Twenty minutes in, his mana channels began to complain. His body was warning him that his energy for the day had reached their sensible limit. Piercing Arrow drew more mana per activation than Deadeye had, and after eight hours on Deadeye and several more on Falcon's Focus, his channels needed to rest.
He racked the bow.
"If I keep going, I'll strain something."
He had spent enough time on medical beds recently to have learned the value of stopping when his body told him to stop.
"Besides, I have Sierra's training tomorrow. Better to recover now."
He headed to the shower room.
The hot water washed the day's fatigue off his shoulders. His muscles unwound in slow, satisfying releases.
