Chapter 157 - Chapter 12 The Dark Rain

Chapter 12 The Dark Rain

The drops falling from the sky were not cool today There was a heaviness in them and a scent as if centuries old ash had been dissolved in water The white marble walls of Prakashgadh which once gleamed in the moonlight were now turning murky from the assault of that black rain Wherever the water fell a faint blue smoke rose from the stone

The rare flowers in the palace garden which Neer had watered with his own hands turned black and withered in an instant Neer looked out of the window and his face had hardened with worry

Agni stood on the balcony of his chamber In his hand was the hilt of Jwala which had gone cold today He reached out and caught a few drops of the rain on his palm The next moment his palm burned and a small red mark appeared

Agni eyes narrowed These are no ordinary clouds This is poison

In his chamber Neer was looking at Varshini His sword was flickering dimly today Neer noticed that the palace guards who were standing watch outside were starting to cough one by one

Agni was right Neer whispered and his tone was heavy The danger is not from outside now It is coming from all around

At that same time silence filled Nirag chamber Nirag sat on the bed and his eyes were fixed on the window Anvay stood beside him Nirag body had gone cold as ice

Nirag should I close the window Anvay asked softly

Nirag gave no answer There was a smile on his face that was frightening

Anvay listen carefully Nirag voice was deep and echoing Do you not hear music in this This rain is not weeping It is calling

Anvay hands trembled Nirag suddenly stood up and threw open the window shutters The showers of black rain began pouring inside As soon as that black water touched Nirag skin he took a breath of relief instead of pain

Agni palm had burned but Nirag body was absorbing that black water

Nirag Get back Anvay screamed

Nirag turned In his eyes that red gleam emerged for a moment No Anvay It is completing me

Anvay saw that on Nirag forehead that black fissure The spot of the third eye It was throbbing faintly

Anvay saw that on Nirag forehead that black fissure The spot of the third eye It was throbbing faintly

He was smiling at Nirag That smile began to feel strange He said to Nirag Nirag step back

Nirag was smiling and looking at Anvay with a mysterious smile Anvay closed his eyes then opened them and extended both his hands forward To stop the black water coming from the window he created a stone wall over the window using his earth element

Nirag saw this and looked at Anvay with anger and said You did not do right Anvay And he began moving towards Anvay But just then Nirag said Anvay Oh And he collapsed right there onto his knees

His body began to writhe From the black fissure on his forehead a faint blurry ray began to emerge which started turning the stone on the window black as soon as it touched it Nirag breaths became fast and broken His eyes rolled upwards and only the whites were visible

This is too much A whisper escaped Nirag lips as if he was struggling against an invisible force that wanted to enter him

Anvay dropped his defensive stance and ran to Nirag He grabbed Nirag shoulders As soon as he touched him a sharp cold gripped his fingers as if he had plunged his hand into icy water

Nirag Hold on Look at me Anvay screamed

But Nirag gaze was lost The blackness of his body was deepening as if the poison of that black rain was coursing through his veins Suddenly Nirag eyes became normal He looked at Anvay But that gaze was not familiar There was a strangeness in it An emptiness

He gently but firmly removed Anvay hand and stood up His face had become calm and expressionless

Do not worry Anvay Nirag said and his voice was like a flat ocean without waves Everything is fine I just needed some rest

But an icy fear settled in Anvay heart He knew The Nirag standing now was not his friend It was something else And that black rain had not stopped yet It kept striking the palace roofs and with every falling drop it erased the shine of Prakashgadh
