What did she just say? My eyes went wide as saucers. "Love quarrel?"
Had she discovered my true identity? Or even worse, had she figured out I was connected to Max romantically?
"Don't think I missed it," she said with a knowing smirk.
My heart plummeted to my stomach. Even Heather went completely still inside me, sensing that Mariyah had caught onto something. If that were true, I was facing serious consequences because she wasn't just any student. She was Alpha Alonzo's daughter and Alpha Mateo's destined mate. Two Alpha instructors who possessed the authority to have me expelled before I could even protest.
"Your expression confirms everything," she declared, her smirk becoming absolutely devious. My heartbeat pounded so loudly in my ears that my knees nearly buckled. She moved closer, her tone becoming silky smooth. "Don't be concerned. These days, it's perfectly acceptable."
