Jasmin's POV
When my eyes fluttered open, golden sunlight streamed through the curtains in warm ribbons across my face.
Sunlight. The sun was already up.
My gaze shot to the clock on the wall, and my stomach plummeted. Well past dawn.
"No, no, no," I groaned, pressing my burning face against the soft surface beneath me. I had overslept completely. By now, the showers would be crawling with Alphas. Absolutely perfect.
Cursing my laziness, I resigned myself to washing with a damp cloth when something made me freeze mid-thought.
The surface under my cheek wasn't the hard floor. It was soft and plush.
Far too soft.
Blinking in confusion, I realized I wasn't sprawled on the cold ground where I had fallen asleep. Instead, my body rested against a familiar pillow, wrapped snugly in my blanket like a cocoon of warmth.
"But I was on the floor last night," I whispered, my drowsy mind struggling to piece together the puzzle.
