Jasmin's POV
Isla fell silent for what felt like an eternity after I finished speaking.
When she finally responded, her voice carried a softness that barely concealed the razor edge beneath.
"Jasmin, this Alpha who suspects you... is he the same one who triggered your heat?"
My entire body went rigid.
"No," I snapped back instantly. The word came out too sharp, too defensive.
Isla's eyes narrowed to slits. "Are you certain? Heat episodes are tied directly to a she-wolf's emotional state, and they're triggered by males we find attractive. I've already explained this to you. For someone like you, who's never shown interest in any male before, developing an attraction to an Alpha here would be extremely dangerous."
"I already told you it wasn't him," I interrupted harshly. "How could he possibly trigger my heat when I can't even detect his natural scent through my perfume?"
