Chapter 111 - Chapter 110: The God of Sun, a Gundam Throne, Lugh

"I didn't think you would finish Lugh for at least another month or two," Marcus exclaimed with a smile. He was certain it would take a bit more time. But this is Lloyd…

"The power of an unlimited budget." The nerdy scientist shrugged at him.

"I get whatever I need. This is the first time in my life I have had this much fun." He fixed his glasses before looking at his scientists.

Half of them looked as if they lacked sleep.

"Why don't we show the machine that will change the… Galaxy? Yes, the whole galaxy because the Earth has been changed already," the Earl of Pudding joked as he motioned for the scientists to open the sealed doors.

Two of them walked over and used their ID cards and a pair of keys to unseal the doors.

Moments later, the doors began to rise.

'What is with the size… how tall is this machine?' C.C. looked up as she saw the doors move.

Inside the room, it was pitch-black before a pair of blue eyes turned on, then the light.

"...Your Highness, meet your new machine. The AGT- 00, or Anaheim Gundam Throne Lugh, the God of Sun. Most advanced and most powerful Mobile Suit." Lloyd grinned while explaining to him.

"...Gorgeous…" Marcus looked with wide eyes. He might have designed the looks and half of the systems, but those were 3d designs and drawings!

This is the real deal!

"Equipped with the latest third-generation technology, this machine literally manipulates gravity and moves through space like no other machine to date," Cecile explained as she was standing next to Lloyd.

"Why is it so big!?" C.C. exclaimed as this machine would make any Mobile Suit to date look like a midget, and could play football with a Knightmare!

"That's because this is space." Lloyd said with a 'duh' tone.

"Mobile suits I envisioned were supposed to be big, C.C., but because it was only conflict on Earth, I made KK-units smaller than I originally wanted.

But now… the conflict is space itself, Lugh can move faster than ever." The Inventor Prince explained to his Witch.

"...Is that so… or you just wanted to make it big…" The witch recalled the movies she had seen while hibernating in the workshop's restroom. Big mechs fighting aliens and monsters, that's all she found in his movie library.

"Both."

"Both indeed." Lloyd and Marcus commented that the nerdy mobile suit developer knew his Prince well!

"I see… stupid of me to ask such a thing."

The witch and the assistant shook their heads.

"Regardless. Lugh! Let's go! It's time for the first flight!"

The mech's blue eyes glowed as the white, red and blue machine moved. It dropped on one knee and offered its hand.

The hand was much bigger; several people could easily stand on it.

"Let's go, C.C."

"...Okay."

The pair jumped on the hand as the mech brought its hand onto its torso.

Once the cockpit was closed, the pair got inside.

The cockpit powered up, showing a spacious interior.

With Marcus taking his seat, it adjusted to his size, and a bunch of holograms powered up around him, following the 360 monitors.

C.C. immediately noticed that… there are no control sticks!

"...Umm… how are you going to pilot it?" She asked him as she got comfortable on his lap.

"How? Why do I need something?" He smiled at her as his hand moved to her chin and stroked it.

"With this." He showed her his hand; a hologram surrounded it.

"...I see…"

"This is 3rd generation of Mobile Suit controls. Why do you think we will use something as primitive as control sticks?" He smiled while saying that.

Marcus then looked at Lloyd and his scientists.

"Seal this room and then eject to space. I will travel for a… bit."

"Certainly! Your Highness!" The nerd flamboyantly bowed, then motioned for everyone to leave the room.

"Where are we going?" C.C. asked him as she got comfortable.

"Do you want to see the Solar System?" Asked her as he used the HUD to see the state of the systems.

"...Solar system? You mean…"

"All of it, my dear Witch."

"...Hmm… we can do that?" She looked a bit surprised. Is this mech truly capable of crossing such huge distances effortlessly?

"We shall see."

With that said, the floor beneath moved, and they got ejected. Moments later, Marcus activated gravity resonators, and the mobile suit simply stopped moving through the space.

"Well, then… let's orient first." The Prince looked through the space charts and found where Mercury was.

"Let's go." With a thought, the emitters on Lugh glowed, and the mech blasted forward. Moments later, it was thousands of miles away as it was 'sliding' through the space-time continuum.

In mere minutes, they passed through the sister planet of Earth, Venus. It was a strange sight for the Witch as she had never seen such a sight before. Orange-looking world, it was cloudy to say the least!

The prince made Lugh casually circle the planet before moving closer to the sun.

[Activating Solar Shades]

The male voice of AI spoke as the view grew a bit dulled as they approached Mercury.

What C.C. saw… was pitiful to say the least. The rocky world looked like it was getting cooked.

"...Just by looking at it, I feel stuffy." The witch complained as she realised how boiling hot it was just by looking at it.

"Not as hot as Venus." He casually commented as they accelerated, using the sun to slingshot them away from it and towards deep space.

They moved away at rapid speeds.

"...I guess, but it's the sight that makes it weird." She commented lazily as she got comfortable in his hands. Now she wonders how long the journey will be…

Though before her mind can wander off, they passed Mars… then the Asteroid belt…

Before long, her eyes were on a massive ball of Gas.

"...What a sight."

Marcus stopped the Gundam as they looked at Jupiter.

"...It's enormous…" The girl said in a small tone. What she was looking at was Deja Vu… this is Jupiter… but it seems like Collective Unconsciousness.

'Is it because Jupiter was considered the Chef God of certain religions?' For a second, she pondered before deciding that she didn't quite care anymore.

"For the next planets, we need a bit more power." As he said that, Lugh's eyes glowed brighter as a blue ring of pure energy vertically appeared behind the mobile suit.

With a single motion, the mech was gone. 'Sliding' millions of miles per second to the next planet.

What followed next was checking out Saturn, Neptune and Uranus before turning back and returning to Solomon's Base.

Kallen gawked at the new machine that 'swimmed' through the very fabric of reality? Or something like that. Her brain doesn't understand what she is looking at.

"...What is with the size of this thing?" She mumbled under her breath as she gazed at the monstrosity, dropping one of its knees and letting the pilot out.

"What the hell, Marcus!" The girl rushed over and asked him.

"What?" The Prince and the witch got lowered as he replied.

"What is with the size! Why so big? Are you planning to play football with other machines?" She asked, not comprehending why it's so big!

"Nah, this is purely because of space. The space is a huge place, so a bigger machine means bigger thrusters and more space inside the cockpit." He explained, letting C.C. jump off Lugh's palm.

"...Huh… is that so?"

"We just travelled through the whole of the Solar System in under an hour." He smirked while dropping that piece of information!

"...What?" He showed her his phone that had all the pictures he took… well, Lugh took, and he just transferred them to his phone.

"...That's… well… I guess extremely fast?" Kallen had no idea what to say. Last time she checked it could take around a week to travel to Uranus or something like that.

Not that she was planning to test that out.

"Fast?" C.C. looked at her with a raised eyebrow.

"If this technology can be expanded, humanity could populate the whole solar system in a matter of a few short years." The Witch explained to the clueless girl. However, even she didn't know the limits of this crazy tech.

"C.C. is right. Though we need to catch up with our colony's developing technology." He nodded at his witch before adding his piece.

"Is that so… I guess… but with this, you could steamroll Britannia. I don't think you need the army anymore." The crimson-haired girl said while looking at the new Lugh.

"Well, yeah. We will see in the coming days. I will most likely visit my old man. It's time to speak with him." Marcus slowly nodded. She was right; he could end this whole thing right here and now. He could do it with Ecne.

'By this point, is it my pettiness or my desire to focus on development?'

It was not the fact that he could struggle with war. But if he wanted to prolong it and make Charles suffer, or if he wanted to end it and focus on space elevators to put humanity on the Red Planet.

"About damn time!" Kallen puffed. She could feel that Marcus was like a brat when it came to this!

"Yeah, yeah… now let's get some food, visiting the whole solar system took a bit of me."

"...It sounds ridiculous, but I agree on the food part!" Kallen grabbed his other hand, making the Witch pout seeing that. She had this annoyed look.

"What? I AM one of his girls." The pilot girl grinned at the witch.

"You still need to give me one of those fancy eyes." The crimson-haired girl reminded them that she still doesn't have Geass!

"You still want that?" Marcus raised his eyebrow. He hoped that she would forget about those eyes.

"Of course!"

"Sadly, for now I can't give you anything." C.C. showed Kallen her forehead; there was no code there.

"...What happened to your forehead! Where did the code disappear!?" The Dagda pilot exclaimed with disbelief. What she was looking at should not be possible!

"I drained her Geass energy. At the moment, the code is recovering. It could take weeks if not months for her to recover enough energy to crystallise into her code." The Inventor Prince explained to her.

"Is that… even possible?"

For some reason, it didn't sound that fancy when he described it like that.

"Well, you see her forehead." He shrugged at her.

"...When you said it like that… is something wrong with my forehead!?" C.C. complained loudly at him.

"Relax, your forehead, like the rest of you, is gorgeous." He immediately defused her anger.

"That's better!" The witch smirked, making Kallen frown… now this sucks! She wanted those fancy eyes…

"Regardless, that excess energy didn't go anywhere; we can use V.V. code to give you Geass." Marcus reminded her that he has a spare code.

"Oh, the skull!" Kallen recalled that 'artefact' the Prince had in his workshop!

As the group talked and walked towards the base's interior, the base's staff gawked at the huge mobile suit.

Sadly, they don't realise, but this is the true size of the mobile suits. It's only now that the Prince revealed what it's supposed to look like.

Regardless, the time is approaching for the end of the old era and the beginning of a new one. It was time to leave the cradle of humanity and spread its wings into the last frontier.

And the mobile suit that is standing before them is the harbinger of a new era.

It's not just the machine; people around the world can feel in their bones that something is coming. The same could be said about Britannians…

But they are feeling the pressure of what lies ahead.
