Chapter 134 - Book Two, Chapter 9: Celebration and Command Tablet

After giving the girls Geass, the pair of knights once again declined these crazy powers. They saw enough of what Milly, Euphemia and Marrybell can do.

Not to mention Marcus, who can copy all the powers, is pseudo-immortal and is eternally young!

"Now that this is done, we should celebrate," Milly commented as she was feeling a bit better after getting back at Euphemia for that laughing episode.

"How?"

"Why don't we go shopping? Imagine visiting a mall that is 200 years in the future." The blonde clapped her hands in excitement as she imagined some crazy futuristic clothes she could buy!

"Sorry to break your bubble, but we don't have money yet. All I was able to get was a full fridge until I transferred my gold into actual currency. You need to wait for a couple of days." Marcus explained to his excited wife. The blonde woman deflated like a balloon after hearing that.

"Fine." She nodded before recovering almost instantly. "In that case…" The blonde got in front of him and took his hands. "I will have to rely on my all-mighty husband to entertain us. This is a worthy celebration after all!"

"...You want me to cook?" He realised where this was going.

"Of course! It has been years since I tasted your godly cooking!" Milly grinned from ear to ear.

"..." Marrybell and Oldrin looked at them with wide eyes.

'L-Lulu's cooking? H-He can cook?'

The pair of them realised something. They arrived in this world, but which of them can cook? They are certain that they haven't seen Euphemia or Milly cook. The same applies to Jeanne, that girl is purely a Knight, a bodyguard and someone who fights, not cooks.

But now…

"...Y-You can cook?" Marrybell looked surprised and delighted at the same time.

"Indeed! You should have seen what kind of dishes he would prepare when we were attending the Academy. He was head cook several times." Milly puffed her chest proudly.

"..." Marrybell and Euphemia looked jealous. They missed such a great chance to see him in that setting!

"Since we have such a chance, we shall do just that." Marcus nodded as he removed his hoodie, leaving himself in a t-shirt. It has been a while since he could wear such casual clothes.

"Let me help!" Euphemia swiftly took a step forward.

"Me too!" Marrybell took a step forward.

"Good. The rest of you prepare the table for food." Marcus nodded before issuing commands for the rest.

Milly, Oldrin and Jeanne nodded as they looked around.

"Follow me, girls! We are going to improvise in this situation; we don't have funds, but we can use some stuff we find in Penthouse." The blonde Empress issued her orders.

"Understood."

"...Umm… I have this feeling you are used to such a thing?" Oldrin asked, and she recalled Milly's wedding, which was a grand affair, but she thought they used some sort of event organiser for such preparations.

"Hmph. Of course, you did attend my wedding, right?"

"..."

"..."

"Indeed! It was all me!" She puffed her chest one more time.

"I can do a thing or two. Not just shoot a beam rifle from my Flidais." The blonde pointed her finger like a beam rifle at Oldrin.

"Noted, Your Majesty." Oldrin smiled; her smile was a bit forced. It would seem this time around, she will learn more about this particular Empress.

"Good. You had no chance to learn how awesome it was to be with Marcus when he didn't have to run a Solar System-sized Empire." Milly smiled back as she looked at Marcus in the kitchen, barking orders to the two of the sisters.

"..."

"..."

Marrybell and Oldrin looked at the dishes spread out on the table. They were in a bit of awe that they were part of this. Sure, they had great food like this before from master chefs. But this was different. They prepared this themselves.

"Like always… You surprise us, Lulu!" Milly clapped her hands in happiness. This was a banquet!

"Hmph, I aim to please." Marcus snorted as he took his chopsticks.

"Since we are in Japan… once more." He looked at his wife. The blonde smirked back at him. "We shall eat some of their dishes this time around."

"Indeed! It has been a while!"

The group began to eat and taste the food they rarely eat.

"...What is this green thing?" Marrybell asked them curiously.

"Oh, that~~~ let me tell you a couple things about this~~" There was a peculiar glint in her eyes as she began to 'assist' her sister-in-law.

The brown-haired princess listened to Milly before tasting it.

Once she put it into her mouth, her eyes widened before tears began to swell in her eyes.

The girl scrambled to her feet as she dashed to the kitchen to get some water.

"Oh my… I think I forgot to mention that you shouldn't eat that much wasabi at once." The blonde 'smiled' innocently.

Marcus didn't comment as he was eating his food in silence. He was thinking about what to do next. Now that he was in this peculiar world, safely. He can start with his plan for technology.

'And most likely world domination… after all, the game is rigged like that. The 'plan' of unification is there. All I need is hijack it.'

The Emperor pondered as his eyes fell on what was going on.

He saw Marrybell all flustered and with tears.

"Really, Milly? Wasabi trick, aren't you too mature for that?" He rolled his eyes as he realised what she just done.

"I couldn't resist! Marrybell looked so innocent!" Milly laughed as she wiped her tears.

'Innocent? You haven't seen what I saw.' Oldrin grimaced, recalling certain missions Marrybell was send over the past five years. There is a reason why 'rebellions' and 'insurrections' don't exist in their world.

"That won't happen again." The brown-haired princess used a napkin to clean herself up.

Euphemia could only nerviously laugh at their interaction. It was a bit amusing and concerning.

"Sorry. But I couldn't control myself." Milly smiled while saying that.

After the wasabi incident, the group continued to eat. Midway, Marcus decided to turn on the TV and see the world's current situation.

It was safe to say that he somewhat missed the whole 'political' nonsense. His world stopped simply because there was only one government. Most of the news he would see in his world was about colonial matters and development in his Empire.

But then again, there should be some drama…

Marcus's gaze went to Marrybell. He was certain that there was no drama simply because the Brown Haired Princess opposite him would make them disappear.

'And there is Shamna… that woman can be dangerous when she wants to.'

The Emperor took a sip of his tea as he continued to enjoy his tea while watching the weather forecast for the week.

'So it will be raining…'

He is used to having great weather in his city. There is a reason why he took Anatolia and Greece as his domain.

Warm weather, always sunny, nice breeze from the sea, and of course, great beaches.

'Well, this does bring memories.'

For the next couple of days, Marcus was on the move; he went to arrange meetings and put people under his thumb. He made preparations for Anaheim to appear in this world.

To do that, he needed to set up logistics; this was not his first rodeo. This time around, he won't be making a hidden faction behind closed doors; he will be running a great company.

This is to bide his time. He needs to become a Celestial Being Observer and gradually use Celestial Being to achieve his goals.

Why do all of the open power moves when he has scapegoats who will do it for him?

Whatever Celestial Being destroys and affects Anaheim could be there to 'rescue'. Gaining the affection of the masses.

Just imagining that made Marcus grin from ear to ear.

'But first… I need to confirm something.'

Marcus went to a very specific place after buying a car. He needed a car because he couldn't use his Tiranis as one in this world.

The store he went to buy from is selling stones. Stones for furniture, like tiles and stuff. This is where he wants to buy limestone.

A thick block of limestone. Stuff like that can be used for the kitchen or bathrooms. But this is not what he wants.

Nope, he will be carving into this stone.

After spending a considerable amount of money on a piece of stone, he went back to his Penthouse and prepared the gear he had been buying for the past day.

This was to test out the technology from the precursor human civilisation.

He has time to do all of this. Besides, mastering this technology and adding to his Empire is important for the endgame against the Reapers. The more advanced technology he has, the greater the odds against the hordes of those spaceships.

The whole brainwaves, ascended consciousness, is literally the answer against Reaper brainwashing.

With that in mind, he decided to expand on this as much as possible.

"What are you doing, Masonry?" Milly asked him when she saw what he was doing in his office.

"Advanced Precursor Civilisation technology, Milly."

"That's a fancy way of saying that you are doing masonry." The girl rolled her eyes before walking over to inspect what he was doing.

"...Oh, you are carving those strange letters?" She realised this was the same stuff she had seen on the pyramids, the Arches, and the Thought Elevator.

"Like I said. This is their tech. This is a command tablet, or at least I want to make one." He stroked the stone as he explained to her.

"What is a command tablet?" The blonde asked, her curiosity growing by the minute.

"In computer terms, this is like the CPU." He showed her his carvings so far.

"Basically, I need Consciousness Amplifier. Those are pyramids, but this is what allows me to look for something specific." He pointed at the stone tablet.

"What do you want to look for?" She asked him, raising an eyebrow.

"For tech. For a specific organisation that has been working behind the scenes for the past 200 years." He explained to her as he looked at his handywork.

"...Oh…"

"You probably noticed the Brain Drain that happened to this world. The technology progress so far was atrocious, that's because the true experts were working on something specific." Marcus explained to her as he was about to return to his work.

"...Hm… is that so?"

"Indeed, while I do this, I want you and the girls to begin infiltrating the society instead of just having fun." He rolled his eyes at her.

"We don't just have fun, you know!" Milly puffed her cheeks.

"We did our research on culture and clothes while tasting food." She explained with a serious tone.

"Oh, then I expect 5 thousand words report on what you discovered in your recon mission." He showed her a bright smile.

"...W-Wha? Are you serious!?"

"You did use my money in this mission, so I expect something back." He explained with an even brighter smile.

"Ugh… fine…fine… I just wanted to explore this place." The Empress caved in as she knew this would only get worse for her.

"Then you should say so. All you need to do is simply say how it is." He stopped 'brightly smiling', and instead, his expression returned to neutral.

"Since you finished with your fun, you can return to why we are here. It's technology for our empire. We have an unknown galaxy before us, and this world is our 'perk' for our empire's advancement."

"I know, I know…" She sighed, it's a bit annoying that she has such a responsibility.

"Good. Remember, you can have your fun if you make some progress."

"Yes, I know. I suppose I can get into the weapon business and figure out what they have been making." Milly stroked her chin as she could worm herself into a weapon manufacturing company of some sort.

She has decent experience with those. Having a Gundam that uses rifles has its perks.

"A good start." Marcus smiled. Thankfully, all of the females around him were competent in their own ways.
