Chapter 2 - The Awakening of a Forgotten Sovereign

The night was long and cruel.

Hiro lay motionless in the dirt, his once-royal robes torn, drenched in blood and mud. The stars above were cold witnesses, scattered like the shattered jewels of a forgotten crown. His vision swayed between pain and delirium, the echo of laughter still haunting his ears — the laughter of those he had called brothers.

The gods had turned their faces from him.His comrades had betrayed him.And his people had watched in silence.

Only the wind whispered his name now — Hiro… Hiro…A whisper that sounded more like mockery than comfort.

His hand twitched. The chains of divine suppression, placed upon him years ago, still glowed faintly beneath his skin — golden veins that pulsed with divine energy, imprisoning what once made him feared across realms.

"You are unworthy of your power," they had said."You are no longer fit to be heir to the Celestial Throne."

But now, beneath the moon's pitiless gaze, something inside Hiro broke.Something old. Something divine.

A sharp pulse thundered through his chest, spreading like wildfire through his veins. The golden suppressive runes cracked — one, then another, then all at once. His blood boiled, his breath came out ragged, and his eyes opened, glowing faintly crimson.

The world trembled.

The earth beneath him fractured, threads of divine energy leaking from his body like vaporized sunlight. The chains of suppression shattered completely, scattering into fragments that dissolved into motes of golden dust.

For the first time in seven years, Hiro felt the pulse of divinity again.

He rose to his knees, clutching his chest as memories surged through him — battles, divine councils, his father's cold eyes, the goddesses who pitied him, the mortals who adored him. Every moment, every betrayal, every lie came crashing back like a wave of molten fury.

And beneath it all… a voice.

"At last… you awaken."

Hiro froze. The voice wasn't external. It came from within.

"Who's there?" he demanded, his voice a mix of confusion and authority.

"You've slept long enough, Sovereign. The seal is undone. The world that cast you aside now quivers… for the Forgotten One has opened his eyes again."

The voice was deep, ancient, almost divine in its tone. It reverberated through Hiro's mind with the weight of a thousand years.

"You— you were sealed with me, weren't you?" Hiro whispered.

"Indeed. I am the Divine Core you inherited at birth — the true Heart of Aetherion. When they sealed you, they sealed me as well. But betrayal… has a way of breaking fate's bindings."

Hiro stood, trembling with a mix of rage and revelation. He could feel it now — power humming through him like a living storm. The divine runes once used to suppress him now became fuel for his awakening.

He clenched his fist.Crimson lightning flickered between his fingers.

The forest around him stirred as if sensing the change.Beasts slithered away into the shadows. The air thickened, crackling with godly pressure. For miles, every creature instinctively bowed its head, recognizing something long lost — a sovereign's presence.

And far away, in the upper realms, the ripples were felt.

Celestial Realm, Throne of Radiance

A gathering of gods floated above a sea of starlight — luminous beings draped in flowing robes of divinity. The Radiant Council convened under the golden dome of eternity.

"Anomaly detected," said one, his eyes glowing with divine sight. "The suppression seal on the mortal plane has been broken."

The Archon of Judgement frowned. "Impossible. The seals placed on the Exiled Prince were crafted by twelve High Seraphs."

Another god turned, his tone cautious. "And yet… I felt it. His aura. That same pulse from the War of Ascension."

Silence fell.

The name they dared not speak echoed in their minds — Hiro Valen Aetherion.

The Fallen Crown Prince. The Godless Heir.

"If he truly awakens," murmured the Seraph of Dawn, "then fate itself may fracture again."

Back on the mortal plane

Hiro stood upon the ruins of what once was his command post — the place where his trusted companions had betrayed him. The ground was littered with ashes and bones, the remnants of his loyal guards.

He knelt beside one — a knight who had sworn eternal loyalty.A single insignia still clung to the corpse's armor: The Crest of Aetherion.

"Forgive me," Hiro whispered, his voice cracking for the first time in years. "You died for a prince who couldn't even protect you."

His fingers brushed the crest, and a faint spark of divine energy seeped into the ground. The bones disintegrated peacefully, ascending as faint blue light.

He stood again, face hardened, eyes glowing faintly red-gold.

"No gods. No brothers. No fate will decide my path again."

His divine core pulsed — an orb of condensed light forming in his palm, swirling with sigils of old.

"System Initialization — complete," the voice within him spoke.

"What system?" Hiro asked, his tone sharp.

"The Divine Reclamation Protocol. Your birthright — lost when you were cast out. It has now been restored. Through it, you may reclaim what was taken… and evolve beyond the gods themselves."

Panels of light appeared before him — ancient glyphs rearranging into readable form.

[Divine Reclamation System Initialized]User: Hiro Valen AetherionDivine Rank: Sealed (Awakening Phase 1)Current Authority: 2%Inherited Power: Celestial Sovereign Core (Locked)System Directive: Reclaim Divine Authority Fragments scattered across realms.Reward Multiplier: x10

Hiro's eyes widened. "A x10 multiplier…? Is this divine power truly responding to me?"

"You are its creator," the voice within replied. "The gods stole your inheritance. But now, every fragment of divine energy reclaimed will multiply tenfold within your core. That is the nature of your sovereignty — the power to amplify creation itself."

He smirked faintly. "So the gods gave me exile… and I gained infinity in return."

Lightning cracked across the sky.His crimson hair flickered in the wind, his aura bursting outward — radiant and dark at once. For a brief moment, even the stars above seemed to dim.

Hours later, Hiro walked through the ruins of the battlefield.Every corpse, every weapon left behind was a reminder — not of defeat, but of the fuel he would use to rise.

He raised his hand.

"Reclaim."

The corpses turned to dust, their divine remnants drawn into his core. The system chimed softly.

[You have absorbed residual Divine Energy.][Divine Authority increased to 3%.][x10 multiplier applied.]

His heartbeat thundered. He could feel it — the power returning, cell by cell.

"Ten percent… a hundred percent… a thousand percent — it won't matter. I'll take it all back."

And as he walked into the horizon, a storm followed him — divine lightning trailing behind like a cloak. The sky, once calm, now carried the wrath of a forgotten god.

Meanwhile, in the Abyssal Frontier

Deep within the shadows of the Void Realm, a woman cloaked in black opened her eyes. Her hair shimmered like moonlight, and a single obsidian mark glowed on her neck — the Mark of the Fallen Pantheon.

"Hiro…" she whispered. "You're alive."

Her lips curled into a faint smile, equal parts sorrow and anticipation."The gods will tremble once more."

Hiro's journey had only begun. The divine world thought they had erased him,but what they didn't realize was this:

You cannot erase a Sovereign. You can only delay his return.
