Chapter 11 - THE BLOODLINE THAT SHOULD NOT EXIST

The sky didn't just tear open — it peeled, like a wound splitting wider.A chasm of pure nothingness spread across the heavens, swallowing stars, swallowing clouds, swallowing sanity.

I stared into the void. The void stared back.

Except it wasn't a void.

It was an eye.

A massive, titanic eye spanning the entire fracture in the sky — black sclera, golden irises like shattered suns, and a vertical slit pupil that tracked every movement I made.

Seraphyne collapsed to her knees, trembling.

"No… no… NO. He isn't supposed to awaken. Not now, not HERE!"

The air folded around her body, her veil whipping violently in the storm.

I didn't kneel.

I didn't bow.

I stood straight, chin lifted, cloak snapping behind me as the pressure increased. A lesser being would've been atomized.

The eye blinked once — a blink that sent a shockwave across the land, flattening forests and turning mountains into dust silhouettes on the horizon.

Then the voice came.

Not from the sky.Not from the world. Not from any direction.

It came from inside reality itself.

"Hiro Vaelstrom… your bloodline survived."

My fists clenched.

"You know my name."

A deep hum — like laughter, but hollow, reverbing through bone.

"I know your origin, child."

Seraphyne screamed, "HIRO, LOOK AWAY—DON'T LET HIM SEE INTO YOUR MIND!"

Too late.

The world froze.

Everything froze.

The wind halted mid-motion.

Dust hung suspended.

Even time refused to move.

Only I and the eye remained alive.

A whisper crawled along my spine.

"You wonder why the pantheon wanted you erased?""You wonder why your powers were sealed before you were even born?""You wonder why you were chosen as a sacrifice, not a sovereign?"

My voice came out darker than I intended.

"Tell me. Tell me everything."

The eye widened slightly.

"Because you… are not their creation.""Your bloodline is older than gods.""Older than divinity."

I inhaled.

The air tasted like rust and lightning.

"What am I?"

The voice shuddered through the cracked ruins.

"You are the heir of the Godbreaker Dynasty.""Children born not to worship gods…""…but to end them."

My heartbeat slowed.

A cold fire spread through my veins.

Seraphyne's screams finally broke through the stillness of frozen time.

"HIRO, DON'T LISTEN—HE ISN'T A GOD—HE IS SOMETHING WORSE!"

The eye rotated toward her, and she collapsed again, choking as invisible pressure crushed her lungs.

I stepped forward, placing myself between her and that gaze.

The eye's pupil shrank.

"Ah… protecting the Oracle?""Touching."

A beam of golden-black light shot from the rift — not an attack, but a scan. It passed over me, dissolving the illusion of sanity I wore like a mask.

I felt layers peel off:

my mortal self

my princely shell

my divine scars

my hidden power

Until I stood spiritually naked before the First Founder.

The voice turned colder.

"You… are incomplete."

"I'm evolving," I replied. "You can sense it."

The eye vibrated — approval.

"Your awakening is ahead of schedule.""The pantheon grows careless.""Your birthright calls for you."

A second rift cracked open beside the first.

From within, a throne emerged.

A floating obsidian throne with chains dangling like bleeding tendrils, etched with runes that shifted with every blink.

It pulsed.

I felt its call — like a forgotten memory begging to return home.

Seraphyne whispered behind me, voice cracking:

"No… Hiro… that's an Abyss-Sovereign Throne Fragment… if you sit on it—"

The eye finished her sentence:

"He will ascend beyond divine jurisdiction.""He will become a concept.""A force.""A calamity that even the gods cannot erase."

I exhaled sharply.

I wanted it.

I wanted all of it.

Power. Truth. Revenge.

The throne drifted closer, humming with an ancient resonance.

Thom—thom—thom. My heartbeat aligned with its pulse.

Seraphyne grabbed my arm, trembling violently.

"Hiro… don't. This isn't ascension. This is annihilation."

I met her eyes.

"Everything the gods took from me started with my bloodline. I'm taking back what's mine."

Her fingers tightened around my wrist.

"You don't understand… that throne chooses devourers. It won't make you a king — it'll make you a catastrophe."

I pulled my hand free.

"Maybe that's what the world needs."

THE FIRST FOUNDER APPROVES

The eye glowed brighter.

"Sit, Hiro Vaelstrom.""Claim your inheritance.""And shatter the heavens."

I stepped toward the throne.

The ground split.

Lightning surged.

My aura flared black-gold, swirling violently.

Each step I took made the citadel tremble, the marble melting under the pressure.

Seraphyne sobbed, "PLEASE—STOP—IF YOU SIT, THE GODS WILL SEND THEIR TRUE AVATARS—THE WORLD CANNOT—"

I reached the throne.

Placed my hand on its cold armrest.

It pulsed.Once.Twice.Then wrapped chains around my wrist like affectionate serpents.

A whisper echoed into my skull:

"Welcome home, Godbreaker."

I lowered myself into the seat.

ASCENSION BEGINS

The atmosphere detonated.

A shockwave blasted outward, shredding clouds, ripping through the realm's mana, extinguishing divine essence like dying candles.

The pupils of the massive eye dilated fully — as if in awe.

"So it returns…""The Throne has accepted its rightful heir."

My body convulsed — but not from pain.

From awakening.

Black-gold cracks spread through my skin like living runes. My veins glowed like molten metal. My heartbeat destabilized the air.

Divine laws bent around me.

The heavens flickered.

The throne merged with my aura.

Seraphyne crawled closer, tears burning her cheeks.

"H-Hiro… your voice… it's… changing…"

Because when I spoke — it wasn't my voice alone.

It was layered. Echoing. Resonant with forgotten power.

"I remember," I whispered.

The eye narrowed sharply.

"You recall a fragment?"

"I see visions… of a cathedral made of dying stars…""…of gods kneeling in fear…""…of a blade that killed immortality itself…""…and of someone sitting on a throne."

The eye leaned closer.

"And who was on that throne?"

I stared into the rift and spoke the truth:

"…Me."

The First Founder roared with laughter.

"THEN AWAKEN, GODBREAKER.""THE PANTHEON'S END BEGINS WITH YOU."

Lightning struck the citadel.

The world shook.

And from the other side of the sky…

A thunderous voice screamed:

"HIRO VAELSTROM. STEP AWAY FROM THAT THRONE."

One of the Ten High Gods had arrived.

But I didn't stand.

I sat deeper — the throne pulsing under me.

I smiled, voice dripping with divine venom.

"Come take me off it."
