Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Lying on my bed "dead," I look out my window, seeing a few stars. I sigh, annoyed; even the sky is barren like my life—boring, just a man with a common office job for a no-name company looking at my computer on the home screen, looking at all the games I have bought in my life but having no one to play them with. It's hard for me to make friends, whether it be IRL or online; after a while they just stop talking to me, and/or IRL they just give me some small talk and then go back to ignoring me, and I feel like I am being too pushy when I go out of my way to talk to them, and let's be frank, I get scared talking to anyone that does not start a conversation with me.

Even watching anime has gotten boring; it does not have that spark like when I was young. Games give me that spark, but after I beat them or when they get repetitive, they lose it. Looking back out my window, I see a few shooting stars, and I make a wish.

"I want to live in a world of swords and magic," I whispered to myself, and waited a few minutes, then I started laughing. "Like that'll work hahaha. Anyways, I need to wake up early tomorrow; let's get some sleep," I said, rolling over to my belly, grabbing my pillow, hugging it, and falling asleep.

(3rd person POV)

Suddenly somewhere a pair of eyes opened and curved up like a smile when a rough voice spoke, "You shouldn't wish for something so vague," as a hoarse laugh rang out. Back with the man sleeping in his bed, a sudden red circle appeared under him. When the voice came back, "hehehe. Let's hope you can survive to enjoy this life I'm going to give, and please don't die too fast; I will be watching," it said. You could hear his cruel smile.

**1st person POV**

My body felt cold. Searching for my blanket, I came out empty-handed. Instead, I felt cold, hard ground under me. Sitting up with a jolt, I looked around me, seeing nothing as it was pitch black, but I could tell that I was not in my room. My stomach was cold from the ground. Glad I forgot to take off my clothes before sleeping, I stand up with my hand reached out in front of me. I start to search for anything, really, when a sudden prompt appears before me.

"Hello, Franko I am your own personal system I'll start with a brief explanation of your system."

[Name: Franko Traugh

Power Level: 23

Mana Level: N/A

Traits: Hardworker, Fast Learner]

[The first power level is a ranking of how strong you are to this world's standard, and right now you are as strong as a mentally challenged goblin and as strong as a peasant child. Now on to Mana Level, which is how much mana you would have and class. As for traits, they are thing you're good at and some could be learned, so work hard.]

"Wait, could you tell me when I am?" I asked, confused.

"At last, you find yourself in a beginner's dungeon. So complete and explore the world you have been sent to, and if you're lucky, you'll get out alive." [Automated message over]

"Could I at least get some armor or even a weapon and a light source of some kind?" I complained, annoyed.

"Starter Pack Unlocked!!!"

'Bang'

A loud noise in front of me startled me, making me jump back, but looking at the prompt, I walk toward the noise when I stub my toe on something. Ignoring the pain, I crouch down and feel the item; feeling a ridge, I follow the ridge to a keylock that seemed open, pulling it up. A sudden glow made me cover my eyes, blinking a few times. I regain my vision looking into the chest and find a scroll with a sword on it, some chainmail armor (chestplate and pants), and a torch of some kind with a glowing orb on top of a wooden stick. Pulling out the torch, I point it in front of me and spin around. Finding an exit, I quickly put on the armor over my clothes. It's a bit uncomfortable and really heavy, but anything to not get one shot. Grabbing the paper with the sword, I ripped it, hoping it works.

[WHat weapon would you like?]

A imp appeared in front of me smiling. I thought of an easy weapon to use.

"A gun, please," I said with a rough British accent.

[Type of gun?]

"Handgun." I said, "Think, how would I get ammo?"

[Type of handgun?]

"Uuuh, one that uses magic as ammo!" I said, hoping for it to work.

Suddenly a black Generac pistol fell on the floor; grabbing it, another prompt appeared.

[No mana detected?! Want to awaken your mana?

"Yes," I said, smiling. "Man, everything good that could happen is happening."

A sudden pain assaulted my chest for a few seconds, then it went away. "Status," I said, expecting at least 30 mana level.

[Name: Franko Traugh

Power Level: 27

Mana Level: 3 (Weak-Fool)

Traits: Hardworker, Fast Learner]

"Wow, that is not a lot, and my power level went up by four. Cool." Looking back at the gun, I pulled the trigger, pointing it at the wall, making a click sound, but nothing happened. Confused, another prompt appeared.

[Wanna load gun? 2 mana will be used!!]

"Yeah, use it." As soon as I said it, my body felt weak. Looking at my status, my mana did not move so it's not like it tell me how much mana I have, but I can feel it sitting down feeling weak but the gun in my hand felt heavy. Now I decide to wait for my mana to come back I wonder how long that takes.

**1 hour later**

'Growl'

My stomach startled me a little, feeling only a bit of my mana come back. I decide to at least check what type of monsters there are. Walking for a bit down the corridor with the gun in my right hand and the torch in my left, I suddenly hear a few snorts. Seeing a corner, I point the torch behind me and peek around the corner, seeing a small pighead being with a club in hand and a few more with other weapons; my heart started pounding. Putting down the torch behind me so the light does not alert them, I point my gun at them, aiming for the closest one. I calm down, and using both eyes, I look down the sight. I pull the trigger; a loud bang rings out, making my ears ring and closing my eyes instinctively. Quickly opening them, I see the closest pighead on the floor writhing in pain as it holds its neck, blood spurting out.

The others are confused as they hold their ears, but one recovers quickly and looks over at me, screeching, and points its human-like hand at me as the other recovers, looks at me, and starts charging. Panicking, I grab my torch and run back, making it to the doorway. I point the torch back at them, blinding them as they cover there faces I point my gun at them and shot four shots, hitting two in the neck lick and another two in the stomach as two more jump over them, solely focusing on me I quickly just pull the trigger three times, missing twice and collating two of them, one in the head and the other in the arm. As it falls to the ground smiling, I walk to it, aim at the head, and pull the trigger.

All I hear is a click, making my heart drop. I quickly start stomping its head in; after a few stomps, its head opens like a watermelon that fell from a high table. Breathing heavily, I walk to the other ones, seeing them only twitch as they lay in a pool of their own blood I calm down; my adrenaline cools down; my right hand is sore from holding the gun so tightly. My stomach is growling again. I look at the pig-headed beings and the charred meat from my bullet wounds. I decide against it and just walk back to where I started, grabbing my torch. I sit against the wall and close my eyes, thinking about what I should do next.
